Overall Rating:

Medium size park with 87 FHU sites (cable included) which are a mix of back-ins and pull throughs as well as a storage area for rv's. Interior roads are paved and easy to navigate. Sites are all concrete but quite narrow, with a small concrete patio. There are some sites with broken/uneven concrete especially in the pull through sites. Most sites do not have a picnic table. Sites 1 through 10 and 51 through 56 back up to Robertson road, so there is significant road noise. The remainder of the sites on the perimeter backup to a residential neighborhood. We stayed in site 6, a back-in site which was mostly level, but short so we had to strategically park our tow dually sideways to fit (see photos). The park has nice landscaping, but around the sites what's left of the grass is brown and dead. There are sprinkler heads all around, but some are broken and/or not functioning (the site next to us had standing water from some sort of leak). Water pressure was on the low side at 40 psi. We were told at check-in to fill our fresh water tank because the park loses water pressure during peak times (we had no issues, but the park wasn't full). Small but maintained pool and spa, and they have set hours for adults only which we appreciate. There is a nice lake next to the pool area where you can fish although it is catch and release only. The park is gated, and they give you a remote to operate it. The park also gives a key card to access the bathrooms and laundry area. Bathroom/shower area was clean and well appointed. Laundry area consisted of three washers and dryers. Utilities worked well but are placed toward the rear of the sites (sewer took 3 hoses to reach). Good Verizon signal. Daily garbage pickup at your site. The park offers two free rounds of golf daily in the price, but for those that don't golf, you can get a 10% Good Sam discount instead. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This place looks immaculate when you first pull in. There is a small pond in the center that attracts ducks and other birds....quite nice. The roads and sites are all paved with nice hedge rows between sites for privacy. They have attempted grass at each site, but I guess not watering enough has turned it mostly brown. Our site was nice and big. Dish satellite worked fine, but they also offer free cable & Wifi. The pool and spa were located right next to the pond so very picturesque. It was relatively quiet, but there was a train in the distance. Even with the free golf that was included, we thought this was kind of pricey. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

An absolute beautiful green oasis in an otherwise brown, dusty Central California (at least brown and dusty this year), just off Highway 99. Impeccably neat, clean and well organized, this is truly a resort. There are 87 campsites with variety of back-ins, pull throughs and 19 head-in sites that surround a small man-made lake. Nightly rates vary depending on the type of site you choose. Campsites are long, level concrete pads that are wide enough for strips of grass and hedges on either side to shield you from your neighbors. Wide interior roads are paved and have gentle curves that make navigation easy, even for big rigs. The park is part of an overall gated golf resort and the nightly fee includes two free rounds of golf. Non-golfers can opt for a discounted park rate.Amenities include daily garbage pick-up and something we've not seen before--fire extinguishers mounted outside at several points throughout the park. Although there's little to see and do right in Chowchilla, this park is a great place for snowbirds to overnight or rest up for a couple of days or so as they travel from north to the sunny south and back. It'll definitely be on our list of places to stay again. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Final Round Grill overlooks the golf course (just across the parking lot from the park) and has 'pub grub plus' food. And there are a couple more restaurants a short drive up the road. There's also a grocery store nearby. For those staying longer than overnight, Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks are an hour and a half to the east.

This is our 4th time staying here; still one of the best RV parks to stay at in the surrounding area but you pay for that privilege. The last couple years we found the the lawns were not mowed, a lot more ants, and the water pressure is not very good. I don't know if it was because the park was full or if CA is just coming out of a drought but it was not good. The staff also messed up our reservation by booking us twice but they caught their mistake and gave us the proper site. They've always been very nice. Hope they fix the water pressure problem soon. We stayed in a pull-through site. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

If you like to golf, stay here! We have stopped here three times and enjoyed a round of golf. The nightly fee includes golf for two (cart rental additional). If you don't play golf, they give you a discount (Good Sam, etc). Our site was a backin next to the road which was realitively quiet and nice. Stayed 2 nights on way to Hemet CA. Great value if you golf. Yes I golf. stay includes golf for 2 on 18 hole course (nice course). small resort over all, secure and very clean. close to shopping(not walking though) first time here-not much to do other than golf. set in a area of housing and fruit groves. if you want to go for a walk somewhere the golf course is the best place. site backed on to houses with kids playing, we didn't mind, I realize it might bother others possibly. We stayed with RPI, normal $ 40 for a back in (RPI always back inns). Great place, easy drive from the 99. Free good wifi, free good cable. Concrete with concrete patio. Easy back inns, very quiet. If you are in golfing this is probably even better. Great warm pool and hot tub. We will be back if passing. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

If I could give it an even better score I would... this is the ultimate in Rv resort! Beautiful spots with grass and well kept amenities. Grounds are kept like a golf course community so you can imagine the immaculate nature. We stayed during the fourth of July holiday and it was wonderful! Staff was polite, helpful and great! Great location for visiting the sites around and feeling safe when you return home. We will definitely be back! We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice, clean, well-run campground. Our discount was through RPI, which means we only get to stay in certain spaces that are back-ins. The pull-through so are reserved for customers paying by other means.

Our only complaint about the campground is that the sewer connection is awkwardly placed so the only way to connect to them is with a 20-foot hose. The wifi worked well. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is for a full hookup pull thru site after Good Sam discount is applied. We found the back in sites too short to accommodate the fifth wheel and the truck. We were too lazy to park the truck elsewhere in the overflow and spent the 10$ extra for the pull thru. The sites are level concrete pads with excellent hookups in a resort style park with a pond and a fountain in the middle. Your neighbors will be ten yards left and right with some low shrubbery between the sites. Don't expect too much privacy here. However, it is a good place just two miles off the I-5 to get away from the highway and train noise. We didn't use any amenities but assume they will all be in the same excellent shape as everything in this park appears to be. Friendly and competent staff at the check in. Garbage pick up in the morning. Probably more goodies we didn't check out because we just stayed over night. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the "off" season for this CG and we were given a premium drive-through site. WSE & CTV, daily garbage pick up and two complimentary rounds of golf per site on a quality golf course. Staff was terrific. This is an adult park well managed and quality in every way. Hedges separate sites and each site is concrete with patio area and ample parking for toad or tow vehicle. The pool and sauna is open and clean. We have enjoyed each stay here and will return. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Fuel and propane are nearby in Chowchilla. Groceries are even closer and there are local eateries nearby as well. This is an excellent place to stay and relax, tour the area, including Yosemite National Park. The GPS gets terribly confused with recent new construction on SR-99 and sometimes it isn't easy getting back to the park unless you return on exactly the same route by which you left.

Park was about average for appearance at this price point. Pad and site was nice. Major problem was water pressure dropped to almost nothing at about 6 PM. Between 7 PM and 9 PM there was actually no water! When we contacted management they did not believe us that there was no water and told us just to fill and use our rigs water tank. They called back later and said there was a problem and the water should be back on shortly. The staff just was not that responsive and I requested another call back on the water issue but they blew me off. Would never stay here again unless it was a $25.00 overnight stop. Booked Memorial Weekend a few weeks in advance. Was told at time of booking that there were only two sites available. Well, there were a lot more than that but it appears individuals own specific sites and those aren't rented to the public. There were still several sites available so it might be safe to just show up even on a busy holiday weekend. The sites are pretty nice, concrete pads with additional half-circle patios - just no table provided so bring your own. The back-in sites have trees, some might be an issue with really tall rigs; the tree at our site blocked our awning. All sites have privacy hedges between, very nice touch, with a bit of grass. There is a center large pond with fountain which is quite nice, as well as a nice pool and spa. No playground, didn't see any kids all weekend. There is an OK dog run area, grassy and not too smelly. Seemed to be a lot of rules which is a bit off-putting but we were good and didn't get into trouble! They seemed to really emphasis the 10 pm quiet time so we didn't stay up and visit like we usually would have. Seemed everyone was in bed by then, I guess to make their early tee-times. A round of golf comes free with each site. Need a remote to access this gated park so I wouldn't show up here after hours. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
