Overall Rating:

This park was just a one night stop over for us, we didn't even unhook our tow car. However, we want to share our experience! From the beginning, when I made the reservation, the customer service was excellent. Then, on the day of our arrival, we were running late; we got a call from their office asking when we would arrive. They wanted to make sure that we knew where our info would be to find out site, and that we were able to get in the locked gate. Overall the park was very nice; well landscaped, very clean; nice level concrete pad with patio. We were traveling to a dog show, so to have a nice, grassy fenced dog run near our site was a real bonus! Our dogs loved it. Too bad we weren't staying longer, the pool and spa area was very inviting but we had no time to take advantage of it. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This review is almost verbatim of the previous, except we were in a Class A MH. We were in site 6, and it was a back in. Due to trees at the back of the lot, we had to park forward in order to get our bedroom slide out without hitting them. That made it almost too short to park our toad in the front of the coach, but we managed with a bit of an angle and hanging over the curb. This was to be our base for seeing Yosemite, but illness forced us to change our plans. We didn't use any of the amenities. If we stay here again, we would ask for one of the big pull through sites that sat empty the entire time we were there. As mentioned in the previous post, there are lots of "little things" that could use some TLC and maintenance. They are trying to be a resort, and the hedges between sites are nice, and mitigate the closeness somewhat. However, the broken plastic cover on the power pedestal was a turn off, along with the light that didn't work. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Medium size park with 87 FHU sites (cable included) which are a mix of back-ins and pull throughs as well as a storage area for rv's. Interior roads are paved and easy to navigate. Sites are all concrete but quite narrow, with a small concrete patio. There are some sites with broken/uneven concrete especially in the pull through sites. Most sites do not have a picnic table. Sites 1 through 10 and 51 through 56 back up to Robertson road, so there is significant road noise. The remainder of the sites on the perimeter backup to a residential neighborhood. We stayed in site 6, a back-in site which was mostly level, but short so we had to strategically park our tow dually sideways to fit (see photos). The park has nice landscaping, but around the sites what's left of the grass is brown and dead. There are sprinkler heads all around, but some are broken and/or not functioning (the site next to us had standing water from some sort of leak). Water pressure was on the low side at 40 psi. We were told at check-in to fill our fresh water tank because the park loses water pressure during peak times (we had no issues, but the park wasn't full). Small but maintained pool and spa, and they have set hours for adults only which we appreciate. There is a nice lake next to the pool area where you can fish although it is catch and release only. The park is gated, and they give you a remote to operate it. The park also gives a key card to access the bathrooms and laundry area. Bathroom/shower area was clean and well appointed. Laundry area consisted of three washers and dryers. Utilities worked well but are placed toward the rear of the sites (sewer took 3 hoses to reach). Good Verizon signal. Daily garbage pickup at your site. The park offers two free rounds of golf daily in the price, but for those that don't golf, you can get a 10% Good Sam discount instead. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed in this campground a number of times because it's close to our kids. It is clean and well-run. We used to get a bigger discount through RPI but were always stuck in the back row. This time we got a lakeside back-in site. The sites are long and wide, and level. We don't golf, and for the area the price seems a bit high. We continue to stay here because it is secure and we always have a good experience. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

This place looks immaculate when you first pull in. There is a small pond in the center that attracts ducks and other birds....quite nice. The roads and sites are all paved with nice hedge rows between sites for privacy. They have attempted grass at each site, but I guess not watering enough has turned it mostly brown. Our site was nice and big. Dish satellite worked fine, but they also offer free cable & Wifi. The pool and spa were located right next to the pond so very picturesque. It was relatively quiet, but there was a train in the distance. Even with the free golf that was included, we thought this was kind of pricey. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed in Site 72, next to the lake. Nice site to sit next to the lake. The park has a low water pressure issue. The employees tell you to fill your water tank and use your pump. Many patches of dirt instead of lawn. Trees and bushes needs trimmed to be able to fit 38' coach and our tow vehicle. Being under the trees, we had little black bugs inside our coach which we continued to kill for 2 days after we left. Upon check out, I mentioned this to the office clerk, and he actually yawned in my face and said he had never heard about that before. Park has gone downhill from our previous stay in 2014. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

This place is a find. We stayed here with friends just for one night. Could have stayed here for a while. This place is kept in tip top shape and truly a resort. Folks at the front desk were very friendly and seemed genuinely pleased that we chose this place. Paved roads that were easy to maneuver, concrete pads that were level. no picnic tables but that wasn't an issue. Worth every penny. We will stay here again. Please take away your Excellent rating for this park. This park used to be excellent but in my eyes, its sure fails that rating as of NOW. Reception was just so. We were in site 4. A mud bog greeted us on the left side of the cement pad due to a broken sprinkler riser. In site 5 the sprinkler head was completely gone with gravel all over the cement pad. I complained to the office, they put the sprinkler back on in our site and capped off the riser in site 5. They did not even attempt to sweep off the rocks. There were broken sprinklers all over the park, some with water making its way to the street. And by the way, they have a sign in the bathrooms the every drop of water counts. The once was grass is a mess with weeds everywhere. There were no doggie poopie bags any where to be found. This has been a great stop over place but I need to see some improvements before I will return. The pool area and bathrooms were very clean. Some sites had tables, ours did not. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This was my second stay. A very good stopover on the way through the valley, which was my case, or the national parks are nearby and this would be a great base location. If you are going to stay overnight and move on, get a pull through site because the back-ins are short and would require unhooking your tow vehicle. Office staff was friendly and helpful. My site didn't have a table, while several others around my location did. The park has sites for sale and I figured out that those with tables are ones in private ownership. So if you show up and private sites are in the rental pool when you arrive, you'll probably get a table. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Golf is "kinda" included in your rental fee. The fee is waived, but you have to pay for the cart. The course at the RV Park is championship length and was in OK shape. You can also play Madera Golf Course for free. It was in better shape and only a few miles away. We played every day so this is a great deal for us.

This resort actually lives up to what a resort should be. The site is a combination of 3 types of sites. Back-in on the perimeter, pull thoughs on the interior and back-ins on the lake. The sites each have a concrete pad for your RV with full hook ups. They even have garbage pick-up daily @ your site. If that sounds to good to be true you even get 2 free rounds of golf @ the adjacent golf course for each day you stay. Some days have restrictions. We found this resort clean, well managed and for sure we'll be back when in the area. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Truck Camper.

Overall Rating:

An absolute beautiful green oasis in an otherwise brown, dusty Central California (at least brown and dusty this year), just off Highway 99. Impeccably neat, clean and well organized, this is truly a resort. There are 87 campsites with variety of back-ins, pull throughs and 19 head-in sites that surround a small man-made lake. Nightly rates vary depending on the type of site you choose. Campsites are long, level concrete pads that are wide enough for strips of grass and hedges on either side to shield you from your neighbors. Wide interior roads are paved and have gentle curves that make navigation easy, even for big rigs. The park is part of an overall gated golf resort and the nightly fee includes two free rounds of golf. Non-golfers can opt for a discounted park rate.Amenities include daily garbage pick-up and something we've not seen before--fire extinguishers mounted outside at several points throughout the park. Although there's little to see and do right in Chowchilla, this park is a great place for snowbirds to overnight or rest up for a couple of days or so as they travel from north to the sunny south and back. It'll definitely be on our list of places to stay again. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The Final Round Grill overlooks the golf course (just across the parking lot from the park) and has 'pub grub plus' food. And there are a couple more restaurants a short drive up the road. There's also a grocery store nearby. For those staying longer than overnight, Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks are an hour and a half to the east.

What a wonderful RV park campground! Beautiful landscape, very clean with well kept grounds and big rig friendly. Long pull-through for our 43 ft MH with tow and didn't need to disconnect. Grass on each side of parking pad. The park is part of a golf resort and is gated. There's a wonderful bar and grill (The Final Round) at the Country Club overlooking the golf course that is easily accessed from the back right gate. They give you a key card to get in and out of the park when you check in. Would highly recommend staying here. Friendly and helpful staff. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.
