No dirt or gravel anywhere in this nice park. It amazes me how they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars having all paved roads, and concrete gutters, and concrete pads, and beautiful lush landscaped flowers and bushes, and yet the WiFi only works from 11pm to 7am. If you try during the day, forget it! Someone needs to invent a way for RV parks to know if someone is streaming a video for more than 5 minutes, and shut them down. The park is right on the beach of San Diego Bay. My site was barely long enough for my 41' long 5th wheel, and I had to be creative to get my truck parked in front of it, and not be in the street. I would have given this park a 9 if the WiFi was good, and maybe even a 10 if the sites were longer and a little wider. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the most beautiful RV Park we have ever visited . The grounds are landscaped with trees, hedges and flowers; and the staff works constantly to keep the flowerbeds pretty. We stayed in a bay-view site, with a view of the bay and access through a private gate to the bay-side park. Easy access to I-5, and about a five minute drive to the San Diego Trolley station. The tall hedges between the sites provide nice privacy. The interior roads are a bit tight, but once backed in the sights are spacious. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We visited Old Town San Diego, Cabrillo National Monument, and Balboa Park-would recommend them all. Bali Hai polynesian restaurant is very good, with views of the Bay and downtown skyline.

This was a gorgeous park right by the bay. The amenities are top notch, and the area is excellent. The marina is adjacent, and there's a beach on the western border of the property. The area feels quite safe, though it's not necessarily close to the best parts of San Diego, which are by Little Italy and further north. The park is exceptionally well maintained, with beautiful landscaping. The staff is friendly and helpful. The park was very full, but there was ample space. I wish we had either an interior space or one that overlooked the beach or the marina, but otherwise I had no complaints. The weather was AMAZING, and we had an excellent experience. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a GREAT experience. From the get go the staff was helpful. The facilities are extremely well maintained, you're a VERY SHORT walk to the bay/marina. Easy check in, easy going staff that cater to ALL travelers, including us and are significantly less expensive for a 30' motor home. Nice folks everywhere. We WILL be back next spring but hopefully for a month and not just a week. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Upscale RV Park. We had a back in. Nice thing about is that they stagger the RV's so you're not right backed to the one behind you. We booked a month next year with a bay view. Park offers all the amenities you need. We did hook up our satellite to get additional channels. Just short of a 10 rating because of closeness of rigs. We stayed at Chula Vista RV Resort for a month in February. The amount we paid was for a monthly rate, and for a premium site at the end of a row. It is a far above average park and we will return next year. Spaces are all concrete, both pull throughs and back ins. The concrete pads are both long and wide. Plenty of room for the car and also a picnic table and other furniture along the side. Spaces between sites were a little tight as others have mentioned, but hedges and other well maintained landscaping makes up for it. Spaces were no tighter than 95 percent of the parks we have been to. There are a variety of sites. We had a pull through at the end of a row which was very nice. Next year we have reserved a bacon site on the perimeter with a view of the bay and Coranado island. Service was great. Daily trash pickup, very clean restrooms and a great pool and exercise room. The RV Park is bordered on two sides by a nice city park which was a plus. Also lots of planned activities if you are into that. Also no permanent residents which was a plus. Lots were there for a couple of months but not much longer. Park is convenient to San Diego, about 15 minuets up I-5. No complaints at all. Would ave rated a perfect 10 if there had been a little more space between sites. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is an aesthetically appealing park in what appears to be a former industrial area. Right outside the gates are vast fenced parking lots filled with new cars destined for dealerships and a daily parade of semis picking them up. There isn't much to do in the immediate area and, if you are not traveling with a tow vehicle and are dependent on a bicycle for transportation, be prepared for some long, long rides. There really aren't any conveniences within walking distance other than one restaurant in the marina with mostly bar food cuisine at rather high prices. When selecting a site, you will be tempted to take the bay view and pay the extra, but beware of the fact that the public park behind your site is extremely busy and the road that visitors use will pass within ten to twenty feet of your rig. The vehicle noise can, at times, be very disturbing. People were racing up and down the road and some were sleeping in their cars as well. Theft in the area is a huge concern, so bring an assortment of locks with you if you plan to have anything of value outside of your RV. Additionally, the onshore breeze often carries the pungent odor of marijuana with it. We witnessed some concerning behaviors in that park during our stay that made us wish that the aging iron fence between us had a row of barbed wire on top of it. Sites are nicely spaced, so you won't feel crammed in like at some other parks. The incredibly loud thumping of military helicopters flying overhead nearly every night became very tiresome to us. This ran from about 4pm until 9 pm at least Monday through Thursday and was very annoying. We became bored with the area after a few days and went on our way. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Would have liked to give more stars as this is a pretty park with friendly staff. But very tight sites that mean you are very close to your neighbors. That said, our (obviously long term) neighbor had children who yelled and pounded walls of their rig like it was an indoor wrestling ring for hours in the evening, a dog (tied to the side of the rig facing us) who dug up so much dirt we had to take up our rug and was tied at various times (11:30pm) and barked. We are truly not complainers but got old after a few days. Said something to the evening security person who was nice but nothing done or said. Weirdly there were multiple wide open unoccupied spaces for our entire stay (5 to 6 sites in a row) so had no idea why we were placed about 6 feet from another rig. Would like to stay there again but considering rate after this experience probably not. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pricey and then pay extra for the dog, pay extra because we were delayed by weather and had to change reservation. Right next to the marina and water and park with views of SD bay. Nice pool, planned activities. Tight roads and tight sites. Had to trim back bushes. Back in site too short for motorhome and car and nowhere else to park car. They told us it's ok if it sticks out into the road, everyone does it. Pull through would be better for big rig. Verizon weak. Wifi ok. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nicely kept park, spaces are tight. Our 40' 5th wheel fit backed in for a Bay view, but not much room for our 8' F350 crew cab to squeeze across the front without hanging in the street a little. Larger dog park in the front corner reeked badly and needs to be sprayed down. Park along beach nice in the morning for walks but some seedier elements come in the afternoon and evenings, so use caution. However park seems secure enough inside the gates. Marina restaurant great for breakfast. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Loved the location in the Chula Vista Marina area and city park. The RV Resort was clean and well maintained. However we did not use any of the facilities; restrooms, pool area or wi-fi. Shortcomings included very tight spaces: length and width, very small dog areas and when there are more than 2-3 checking in at the same time there is the chance you will have to lineup in the street and wait (in our case 15 minutes). San Diego is a great destination and very popular among RV'ers but there is a lack of really good RV Parks. We would stay here again but if someone built a really nice park in S.D. we would try one. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nicely ran park, well cared for and clean. Good security, we felt very safe. City park between our site and the bay but it was fun to watch the people and they close the park at night, so no noise problems. Fun to walk to marina or the park. Park had a couple events while we were there and they were fun. We stayed a month and really enjoyed exploring San Diego. Only issue were some ants that found the their way inside. This is a class A park. The sites are close which seems to be standard in California. The streets are paved, the pads are concrete with good hookups. The pool and spa are clean and very refreshing. There are three dog parks. To the rear of the resort is a park and beach. There is always a breeze from the bay. We stayed here two weeks. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

1. If you have a 40 and tow, a pull thru will give you more space to park. 2. Get the trolley map. Drive or walk over to the H Street trolley stop. A $5.00 ticket will get you to San Diego and back. The Blue Line will take you downtown and you can switch trolleys to get to the many locations (Little Italy, Old Town, Gaslamp). Take the trolley. Downtown parking is hard to find and expensive.
