Three day stay and the park was almost at capacity! Very friendly staff and park this trip was spotlessly clean despite very heavy use. Lots of nearby stores ( you will need your toad) two Walmart within minutes plus a number of RV supply stores. Several vendors who will work on site Restaurant within easy walking distance with trolley within three blocks. A very high end resort. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a class A park. The sites are close which seems to be standard in California. The streets are paved, the pads are concrete with good hookups. The pool and spa are clean and very refreshing. There are three dog parks. To the rear of the resort is a park and beach. There is always a breeze from the bay. We stayed here two weeks. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

1. If you have a 40 and tow, a pull thru will give you more space to park. 2. Get the trolley map. Drive or walk over to the H Street trolley stop. A $5.00 ticket will get you to San Diego and back. The Blue Line will take you downtown and you can switch trolleys to get to the many locations (Little Italy, Old Town, Gaslamp). Take the trolley. Downtown parking is hard to find and expensive.

Great location in southern california. Sites were easy to park your rig in but there was not much room left to park my truck. There were tall shrubs between the sites which provided the illusion of privacy. Bike/walking path access next to the bay and marina. Very cool setting. WI-fi was actually pretty good for the number of "campers" at this park. While if was a little pricey at $90 night, but some of the other parks in this area were scary looking during day time recon drive-by. Spending our kids inheritance one park at a time... {GRIN} We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We really liked this park. The location is great, right on the bay. The park is super clean and well cared for. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We paid extra for a "bay view" site but did not really have a bay view due to a wall and shrubs. Next time we will reserve one of the interior sites. They are very nice and a little less expensive. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We wish we had stayed longer than five nights, there is so much to do here! We took the trolley (the stop is close to the park) up to San Diego and went to the USS Midway. It is awesome. We went to the zoo. Super nice zoo. Ask at the office for $5 off coupons. We drove up to Mission Bay and took the 17 mile bicycle ride around the bay.

Love this park for so many reasons: right on the bay with walking paths; scheduled dinner events & happy hours w/musicians; perfect weather (except for the needed rain that occurs on occasion). Nice mix of folks in general. Feeling less of the love when having to move from one site to another while staying for 3 months because they have an antiquated booking system (that's what we were told - hope it updated soon. Small rigs would get the BIG PULLTHRU's and our 45' would be moved into a tight site. Made no sense. Other than that we are booked to return for 3 months come Nov 1, 2017 but have asked that they not move us at all. Hopefully, the new owner (who's done a wonderful upgrading) will install a new booking system. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

FYI, because the sites that were not pull thru were tight for us -- it was difficult to park your tow in a way that didn't stick out a little in the road. Please know it's a very fine place & we're going again. These were just observations from being there for 3 months - Nov thru Jan.

Nice park with all the various amenities and landscaping you should expect from a park that calls itself an "RV Resort" in my opinion. The price is definitely high, but so is everything else in town, and the location is great. Our price was based on a coupon where we paid for 3 nights and got one night free, with the 5th night being at the Good Sam rate. Landscaping and cleanliness of the park are great. The roads and condition of everything is good, and there are cute little duck families wandering around. The pool and hot tub are nice - we only used the hot tub, since it rained most of the time we were there. Overall location is great - there is a bike path that runs by the park that takes you all the way around the bay basically - but again, since it was raining, we didn't get to take advantage of that. It's about a 10-15 minute drive to downtown, or you can take the "trolley" (which we didn't do). The park between the resort and the bay is nice, and I may have got out on my paddle-board on the water if it weren't so stormy and rough. The sites have plenty of privacy in most cases, despite being a little small - plenty large for our 22' trailer with no slide-outs, but a little small for larger rigs and tow vehicles. The only negatives we came across (other than the bad weather, which is unusual and has nothing to do with the park) was the service. We reserved 4 months in advance and were told at the time that most of the bay-view sites were available, but it would be impossible to reserve a specific site - but they best they could do is have us give them a range of sites and we'd most likely get one in that range, which would be first-come-first-serve upon arrival. When we checked in, though, they said nobody wrote down what we asked for, and we were stuck with something nowhere near what we wanted. We then got all kinds of different excuses and answers from different people. Landscapers also started way too early while we were checking out. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you're getting one of the Bay View sites, do what you can to get one of the 30's or lower 40's. The mid-to-upper 40's and 50's overlook a parking lot and playground, so the view isn't as good, and it's not as peaceful. Good luck getting what you ask for though - as we asked for any of the 40's and wound up getting number 56, with no good reason why.

We only stayed Sunday and Monday, but enjoyed the beautiful bay view, the pretty landscaping and overall relaxed feel of this resort. The place was almost full and it seems many are here for long stretches (a month or more), but it didn't feel crowed or noisy (except for the occasional jet that screamed by overhead-must be an airbase close). Although we didn't use the pool or jacuzzi, people really seemed to be enjoying it. The staff was courteous, helpful and friendly. They even sent a mama duck and her 8 babies to waddle through our site before we left. Precious! We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautifully landscaped park right on the bay. Extremely clean and well maintained. Lots of trees and flowers and most sites have hedges between them. Very dog friendly with 3 off leash areas and a really cool dog wash with warm water! However, as mentioned by other reviewers, the sites were very narrow and short. Our 33 ft. fifth wheel fit but we had to park our truck sideways in the driveway. And with the two back slides out, the site was barely wide enough for the picnic table. But the weather and location were worth it! Great place to walk in the adjacent park by the marina and waterfront. The nightly rate was high but in line with other RV parks in area and this one feels more like a resort that just a parking lot. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The Galley Restaurant in the marina is within walking distance and the food is pretty good. The best value for visiting San Diego is the Maritime Museum downtown. For $20 each we spent several hours touring several historical ships and got a pilot boat tour of the harbor.

This park is about 30 years old and was designed for the smaller rigs of that era. It has been nicely maintained, very clean with beautiful landscaping. The amenities aren't as grand as other high priced RV resorts. Potluck twice per month and happy hour with music twice per week. Craft days, water aerobics and poker nite were organized by monthly guests rather than "office staff" during our stay. The rate listed is based on the $1700 monthly rate plus electric and $30 per dog fee. They shocked many return clients with up to a $300 increase in their monthly rate over last year. The positives: the location near the marina and bay and proximity to San Diego and Coronado Island. Lots of bike trails. Also very neat and tidy. Security gate is closed at night. City park/boardwalk right outside the gate to walk your dogs. The negatives: very expensive for what you get, you really are paying for the location not niceties in the park. Wifi didn't work very well. The public park that is on two sides of the resort is very busy and can be noisy when the weather is nice. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a VERY nice park. Ocean views are OK, but not spectacular as there is a parking lot and green space between RV sites and ocean, but still quite nice. Park could use some pickle ball courts, but it is close to walking paths, the marina, bike paths, and the beach, so lots to do. It is a close drive to Mexican border and the trolly (train) station is close by that will take you almost anywhere. Internet was fairly good if you don't stream. Pool area is very nice, but a bit small. I would recommend this park for short or long term. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Rate based upon $1650 monthly charge. Previous stays with park full. This time lots of empty spaces. Might be constant rain or perhaps new higher rate? Nice well kept park, all paved with tight spots. Good family park with smooth paved roads for children to skateboard or bicycle. Pick up baseball or soccer games on streets most of the time. Nice looking pool and hot tub but full of children. Tried the hot tub during designated adult only times but too many splashing kids. Asked the office about adult only but was told facilities were for all guests and if residents were Ok with their children practicing cannon balls into the hot tub the park would not deny them. Great Laundry room kept very clean but two concerns. Too small for all the rv park and 90% of the marina. Always had to wait for machines. A number or residents brought pets to do laundry. Hard not to trip over dogs in laundry room. Park cleaning staff had to jump over leashes to sweep around dogs sleeping on floor. Quite a number of stray cats make the park their home. Other than a few annoyances, still a good, albeit pricey, park I'd likely return to. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

What can I say, this was a gorgeous RV park right on San Diego Bay. So every day we got to watch the sunsets either on the beach of from the comfort of our RV: either way they were beautiful. The RV Park itself has great facilities. The sites are level, everything is clean and well-landscaped, there is trash and recycling, and there are extra areas for group BBQs or gatherings or whatever you like.

And to get to the beach, just step through one of the gates and there you are. And you can bring your dog, too! I mean, what's not to love? We'd absolutely stay here again, it was just such a nice place. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautiful campground in good location located right on San Diego bay. The campground is well maintained and immaculate. Restaurant in the marina is a short walk and pretty good. Pool is nice, but probably not "resort" quality (or size). Sites are paved and level, but very short. Site are also narrow, with barely enough space to get slides out and awning. Hedges between sites help with the cramped feeling, but it is a tight park. Streets are narrow, and with the short sites parking can be somewhat challenging in the back-in sites. Parking for vehicle is also tight and many hang out a bit into the street. Wifi is disappointing, useful for about 20 minutes a day otherwise forget it. AT&T and Verizon are weak here too, so data overall is a challenge. Exercise room is ok for cardio but weight equipment is very limited. Bottom line is that this is a very nice campground in a great location that uses its location and not its amenities to justify its premium pricing. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.
