Such a wonderful place to stay ! We were here for 12 days and loved it. Every employee is a class act, friendly, helpful, professional. Rules are adhered to. Fantastic for dogs! Sites are concrete and there is room for your tow. Great casual restaurant in walking distance. This will definitely be our Southern California RV resort in the future! We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

We are staying for 4 months. Rate is $1300.00 + elec. so the rate reflects an average for extended stay. Rack rate is higher. We reserved our site in 2015 and have a partially obstructed view of the bay. Bayside sites are higher priced and some perimiter sites are lower priced. This is a RESORT not a campground. Sites are full concrete, big rig friendly, level, hedges between neighboring sites. Dog parks abd dog bathing area. Clubhouse, hot tub, fitness room, very clean restrooms, laundry, propane available and planned activities and it is on San Diego Bay with county park next to resort. Staff execellent. Even with close proximity to I-5, you don't hear highway. Marina next door has nice restaurant.
Good Sam rating is 10-10-9 but it should be 10-10-10. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to all San Diego attractions, Tiajuna 7 mi. Light rail 1 mi.

Our stay will be two weeks in total when our time is up. Park is well maintained with much greenery and flowers. Good pool and hot tub setup. Very good get together facilities of which they have regular happy hours and other activities. Amenities all work good as does the wifi setup. (did not use the cable TV outlet due to our own satellite setup) The park is quiet in regards to traffic noise. Far enough away from I-hwy racket. Site size in what they call an "interior deluxe" was just large enough to accommodate our 29' 5'er with truck parked in front. Plenty of room for awning and slide outs. I have two distinct criticisms #1 = the helicopter and jet noise in the afternoon and evening is bearable but for some it's a wicked distraction and this leads to #2 = the cost IMHO is way overboard and please be forewarned if you haven't reserved here like a year in advance forget getting their monthly rate. I had to pay their so called weekly rate and for 2 weeks it ended up being more then their monthly + if you have a dog he will cost you an extra 10 bucks a week + you have to fork over 20 buck deposit per week for electricity. My question at the time was what does my site fees pay for?? Great park to stay at but make sure you bring a good credit card(s) or lots of cash 'cause they sure know how to charge. Would only return if monthly rate is available. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

lots to do in San Diego = self explanatory!!!...

Reflects weekly rate for an interior site. A really clean, nicely-landscaped park with great facilities and lots of activities. A few ridiculous things lowered my overall rating. First, you can make a reservation at one rate, then they'll charge you a higher rate when you arrive. Your choices are to pay it or lose your deposit. Second, there are surcharges for electricity, pets, cars, holidays, extra people, etc. Third, the spaces are too short and too narrow to accommodate most tow/towed vehicles, so many stick out in the street or fill up the limited guest parking (which is also too short for a full-sized truck). The sites are actually quite spacious for a metropolitan park, but landscaping, light posts and permanently installed trash containers reduce the parking area. It's generally quiet, although some mornings Navy jets fly very low overhead. Water pressure can be low. Good Verizon & AT&T signals. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice bike trail that leads to the Living Coast Discovery Center about a mile away in one direction, or you can ride it all the way to Coronado in the other direction. (Check Google Maps though, because a few turns aren't obvious.)

We stayed for one month starting in September and got the discounted "off season" monthly rate. This campground is about as perfect as you can get most anywhere. Sites are all paved concrete and level with easy access to electric, water and sewer. We could not get the cable to work so we used our batwing for local TV reception. Our site backs up to the park that is parallels San Diego Bay, so we saw lots of sail boats floating by and beautiful sunsets. The park is used heavily by local residents for picnics and parties, especially on weekends, so the noise level from boom-boxes can be quite loud depending on what event is taking place. Our neighbors told us the the night before we arrived, a very loud and raucous crowd occupied the park until the next morning playing extremely loud music and they could not sleep a wink. Good thing we missed that! So before you book your site here, it would be wise to check the events calendar and see what events are scheduled for the park. We had a rental car here for our one month stay and put LOTS of miles on the car. The main reason is that most every attraction (the Zoo, Balboa Park, the Midway, Mission Bay, etc.) we wanted to see was either in the city of San Diego or north of the city. So we ended up doing a daily commute with all the horrific traffic going into and out of the city nearly every day. We eventually learned that if we departed the campground around 9:15 we missed most of the morning traffic, and if we started our trip back to the RV park around 2:00, we missed most of the going-home traffic. When the Navy yards have shift change around 3:00, it seems every road is packed with cars. One negative about the park is that they don't seem to enforce their dog barking rules. Our neighbors let their dogs tied outside all day and the dogs barked almost constantly. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Grocery shopping is very convenient with Sprouts Farmers Market and Albertsons just a mile up J Street from the campground (in Chula Vista). The Costco and Walmart are both handy (south of J street on Broadway) although we were shocked to see how little fresh produce and food product Walmart carried. If you want to go grocery shopping here, skip the Walmart and go to Sprouts and Albertsons (directly across the street from each other at the intersection of J Street and 3rd in Chula Vista).

Our first visit but definitely not the last. The park was conveniently located, on the bay/marina, and very well maintained. The staff was very friendly, efficient, and made our stay a sincere pleasure. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Their website provides great options for the park, surrounding area, and the Blue Line Trolley up to downtown San Diego or down to the Mexican border. We like that it is near the bike trail loop around the bay.

Highly developed park - lots of cement. Landscaping is groomed and groomed and groomed. Park is immaculate. There are picnic areas, meeting rooms, a beautiful pool and hot tub complex. There's some cute functions like happy hour and other hokey yet friendly get togethers. There are supposed to be water aerobics class, but nobody was there either day when we showed up. Location is right next to the San Diego Bay park, which gives you lots of walking possibilities. Unfortunately there is also a lot of noise from the public park, lots of loud stereos with heavy bass. You are also close to the marina, a pretty good restaurant and more walking. There seemed to be more than average incompetent and inconsiderate RV drivers who blocked your site getting into theirs, ran over the flower beds, etc. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Nice clean park with a very nice location just off the bay. Spaces however, are very tight. Our rig is 34 feet and we could maneuver ok but the bigger rigs have a tough time. Many cars and pickup trucks are parked halfway in the road because the truck/car and RV do not fit in the space provided.

There is a very nice restaurant on the water (The Galley) walking distance away. Great food and views. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a nice place to stay if you want to be near Coronado Island as we did. We took in some Fleet Week activities.

This is the best RV park in southern California. The sites are tight as they are all over California but are concrete and level with a table and shrubs between each coach. The pool and spa are great. There are 3 dog parks plus a wash station. A park is to the rear of the resort where you can take long walks and/or enjoy a beautiful sunset. If you like cold water, there is a small beach. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Driving and parking is a nightmare. Drive (3 minutes) over to H Street and pay $5.00 for a day pass on the trolley. Go North to Seaport, Old Town, etc or South to Tijuana, Mexico. (New rule - take your Passport if walking across the border) Sorry, but you will have to drive to La Jolla, Point Loma, Cabrillo National Monument but it is worth it.

The park was very easy to find, close but not too close the IS 5, and upon arrival we found it to be very clean. The staff were friendly and the site we had (187) was easily accessible. The swimming pool and spa area were very clean and there were plenty of lounge chairs and tables and chairs for relaxing while the grandkids swam. The store was adequate and the laundry facilities were clean and easy to use. We participated in the activities, happy hour and kids games in the pavilion which were very entertaining. There was a gentleman singing which was very good and he got a lot of interaction from the audience. The park had beer and wine available for a nominal fee and snacks were provided, free of charge. I would highly recommend this park for your next trip. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Park was fairly close to Coronado Island and also to downtown San Diego and the "Gas Lamp District". Very good shopping, Sea Port Village, The Midway aircraft carrier, harbor cruises etc. dining in this area is excellent.

This park is a destination resort! Full amenities that few other parks can match. Kid and dog friendly along with many activities for adults. Close to restaurants, shopping, and tourist destinations. Trolly and bus a short walk away if one gets tired of resort activities. While we were here every space was occupied but the park was spotless and no problems observed. Only glitch was our site had a tree blocking satellite dish but they had good cable hookup Spaces are close but each space is separated by shrubs so provides privacy. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Sea world, zoo, marine museums, Legoland, Balboa Park, Old Town and much more!

This RV park is located on San Diego Bay so the view is pleasant and there is a nice ocean breeze all day long. The $70 rate was based on 50% off the first night w/ RPI and 10% off with Good Sam for the next 4 nights. As they are far enough off of the freeway it is quite quiet. There is a park on the other side of the park so you can walk along the marina and the bay. They have a pool and a spa as well as a workout room. The sites are concrete pads, with a picnic table and cable hookup with a hedge between each site for privacy. No fire pits, but we used our propane fire pit, a must to carry with you in your coach. The sites are a little tight but manageable. We would like to come back again and stay several weeks as there is so much to see and do in the San Diego area. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the Trolley into San Diego, Seaport Village, The Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy and Old Town or to the Border/Tijuana. Seniors are $1.25/ride.

Other things to drive to are: Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Point Loma and Coronado Island.

I'm giving it an 8 because it is tight. Doable, yes, but tight. Some sites are a little short so cars/trucks will be in road and that may affect your swing both in pull-throughs and back-ins. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Just a fabulous resort setting . Will be moved across the bay sometime soon when county improvement begin I understand . Dog areas have much to be desired with the artificial turf lawns but the city park right outside is a much better alternative . Shrubs between sites offer privacy . We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Galley restaurant within walking distance was a fine alternative for cooking your own . Good patio band some nights also .

Great park. A little tight as others have noted, but not too bad. Paved roads and paved pads. Excellent location. Loved the park on the bay front just outside the gate. Biking trail nearby goes to Coronado. 30 mile round trip. Also, find the trail to the North and work your way to Harbor blvd to ride all the way to Mission Bay and beyond. We plan to spend a month here next winter. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.
