The campground itself is fairly nice. Some sites can be a challenge both parking and leveling wise. Power/ water/sewer all good but watch your voltage on those warm day's. The River, because of the drought, was well below normal and the suggestion was not to go in the water due to algae issues. There area couple of Casino's in the area but nothing special. We were disappointed about the River but can't blame the CG for that. As I recall, Verizon worked well and the Lodge had good Wi-Fi. I think I'd give this place another shot when the River is flowing again(hopefully soon). We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Motorhome.

This campground is in the heart of California wine country. Vineyards, orchards and wineries dot the landscape on the way in on Hwy 101. Arriving late on a Friday afternoon, it was pretty full, but we were still able to secure what we thought was a suitable spot for our 38' coach. Site #2 is high on a hill compared to the others in this section. We had partial shade in the morning and late afternoon. Birds are plentiful, lots of Scrub Jays, woodpeckers, and even a hummingbird. Sites in this park are all 30 AMP electric and water only. Bathrooms/showers are clean and easy to get to. There's some highway noise, but not up close and personal, and I didn't find it annoying at all. We ran into trouble upon departure due to the slope and angle of the site compared to the road, almost requiring a tow truck. For this reason, site #2 is not big rig friendly! Unfortunately, most sites at this park are not suitable for big rigs due to the steep angle between the road and the actual campsite pads. We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't trust your GPS to find this park. Our neighbors' GPS took them on an adventure they don't want to repeat. It's easy on and easy off Hwy 101 with proper directions from the park ranger.

It was incredibly hot (104) while we were here and we were able to nab the ONLY 50 amp site in the park. Site also had good view of sky so not a problem for satellite. Number of trees means that most people had some shade during the day. Satellite coverage is so-so. This is an older park, so if you are looking for a 5-star resort, this isn't it. Lots of families around - it was Labor Day weekend. For the most part the staff did a very good job of keeping things going well. We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We stay here while visiting all of the wineries in the Sonoma Valley so this is really a place for us to sleep and recoup after a day of wine tasting. Try Zuni's for breakfast. Starbucks is in Cloverdale.

This is a very quiet park. Limited amenities but good base for exploration vineyards, redwood forest and Pacific Coast Highway because definately don't want to travel Highway 1 in your rv. Cloverdale has adequate stores for most of your needs. All sites are paved but vary in length. Wooded area so many sites have satellite reception. No sewer sites, sites are narrow. Water pressure is lower because of gravity system. Bath houses always clean. Clubhouse adequate. Staff excellent. As a Thousand Trails member there was no cost. We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Local winery and vinegard tours all around. Sight seeing along Pacific Coast Bighway and Redwood forest easy day trip.

We are members of Thousand Trails and generally pay $0.00 to stay each night. RVPR will not let me put that amount in. Some places charge $5 a night for 50 amp service. If this is an Encore Park the public can stay here for an increased rate.

Russian River is a great place to stay with easy access off the highway. The Ranger was one of the best we have run across and was very helpful. Roads are narrow as are sites but we found a good one and the Verizon worked well here. We did not set up the satellite as we were only staying one night. We would stay here again despite their not having sewers. It is a very well maintained park We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Great Chinese restaurant in Cloverdale that has sushi. This is wine country so there are lots of places to taste wine if you are so inclined.

Ranger was very helpful and friendly when we checked in. Quiet campground. It helps if you get there before it's dark since you need to drive around to find your spot. Easy to get to river. You can hear some of the cars from the highway but it's not much. Very nice campground if you're spending a few nights. We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects Thousand Trails Passport membership. Do not rely on OnStar to give you correct location. It will get you on the correct road but not at the exact spot. They do give you a call about a week prior to your visit so you know what to look for. Some of the sites look like people took up permanent residence. This is first come, first serve as far as picking your site and many of the best ones are already occupied. We found one very close to the restrooms in Area B. It gave us much more space to cook, sit in our chairs and observe our cat chasing the fallen leaves. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Pleasant campground, stayed one night. Helpful staff at front gate. Choosing your own site is nice, but it would be challenging in a large motorhome as some of the turns are very tight. We detached our car and drove around each loop to find our site. Even though it is near Hwy 101, there was very little road noise. The Russian River was a nice walking distance. There seemed to be many options for kid activities on the map. We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Motorhome.

This is my 3rd TT park, and I'm not impressed. It has many steep sites that are very close together and hard to access without scraping your rig. Has no sewer hook-ups, needs a lot of work with large tree limbs & branches protruding, bathrooms are in need of repair, and no WiFi except in main building. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I guess it's OK if you want to visit wineries or go on the river. We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Motorhome.

No sewer, no amenities to speak of. They do have a little breakfast wagon on the weekends and you can rent tubes for the river (park is right by the river) and the staff was friendly. The park is very hilly so not big rig friendly. We are TT members so we stayed in the park for free. We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was a bit difficult to navigate with our big rig and was almost full given that we were a 39' with towing vehicle and could not fit into the smaller sites. The park is very hilly with tight turns and lots of trees, but we did find a nice site. It is peaceful and friendly; although, we did not have sewer hook up, the honey wagon is $35 and must be scheduled in advance. There were not many amenities...no pool, no spa, just a small lodge. It was a pleasant place though and we stayed a few days to visit near by relatives. Winery tours are near there if you are interested in that kind of thing. There are friendly long term residents who pay by the year and get included honey wagon service. We would not go back to this park as a destination, but perhaps just as a stopping point while passing through to someplace else. We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

As a 1000 Trails member I was sorely disappointed. We camped here in a 38' 5th wheel and barely had room to park and most of the roads were impassable to our size rig. I would not recommend ever taking anything longer than 32' into this park. Restrooms had been damaged by fire as had one of the "long term" campers. Per one of the regulars, it was arson by a former camper. This park did not even meet the minimal standard set by 1000 Trails and this park should be addressed immediately! Restroom was dirty, very old and in need of significant repair. The whole park seemed unkept. Electrical posts damaged, lights damaged, bath houses damaged by woodpeckers. We will not stay here again. We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The previous post pretty much hit this park right on the head. Park is very run down with the majority of sites taken by long term tenants. Park staff was rude. The park remind me of what a Hollywood film makers perception of Trailer Trash Village USA.would be. We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is best suited for smaller motorhomes either class C or B and under 29'. That is not to say there weren't big rigs crammed into very small spots. The roads in the campground are tight, twisty , hilly and made even more challenging to navigate by guests parking cars on the road. I scraped the bottom of my coach cresting a hill. There are only 4 pull through spaces in the park. Sites are not assigned - you have to drive around and find your own. There is no sewer connection, making the available water connection of limited value. All that said, the setting is pretty, heavily forested, and you can reach the Russian River down a path I'd say was less than 100 yards long. We camped at Thousand Trails / Russian River Resort in a Motorhome.
