This is one of the worst parks we have stayed in for the last 5 years, never mind the crazy price! You enter the registration via a steep winding paved road. We are 43' plus tow. The approach road had very tight turns which @ 43' we had front wheels mounting the R curb at the same time the rear wheels and tow were up on the opposite L curb. We paid $79!!! For one of the top 3 Executive pull thru sites #17. After you pull forward from registration Steep slope down into site, big scary trees either side, left side inches away prevented putting slide out and uneven! The RV helper said the site wouldn't work!!! She also said we had to back out because the exit going forward was too tight, and the exit road had collapsed on a tight turn out! We hit the tree on R side exiting. Nightmare! Wife in tears. Only 3 sites for 40' plus. We backed into a 40' site extending out. The whole RV park is an ugly dust bowl! Looks like a Mars landscape! Ugly to look at! Not a blade of grass anywhere, double ugly! We returned from the park after dark. Whole park, entrance and approach in total darkness, scary! Not a single light in the whole park! Cable is so bad it's unwatchable, and they know it. We called the office multiple times between 9 and 10.30 and got answer machine? Went to office and always 2-3 reps??? Internet is unusable. AT&T one bar, but LTE, very slow but usable. The positive reviews are for the cabins, yurts and permanent tents. If you are over 40' avoid at all costs, or risk damage to your unit. As a non refundable pre pay we couldn't wait to leave. avoid, avoid, avoid. We camped at Yosemite RV Resort, RVC Outdoor Destination (formerly Yosemite South in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Good location (20 miles) from Yosemite if you don't want to stay in the park with no services. Price is high for what you get. Pool is outstanding and we enjoyed clean showers and outdoor movies. The site we had was really not big enough for our big rig and the interior roads are not very maneuverable for big rigs. The laundry has no change machine or information as to length of cycles. There are no places to sit while doing laundry except on a bench in the sun. Quarters for laundry only available up a steep hill at the office. The variable pricing policy (two types of rates- one with all funds forfeited if cancel) is unusual for an RV park. We camped at Yosemite RV Resort, RVC Outdoor Destination (formerly Yosemite South in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go into Yosemite Village EARLY and secure a parking spot if you have a tow vehicle. You shouldn't try to take a big RV into the Village. You can walk to all the local sites in Yosemite Village, Yosemite Falls, the Visitor's Center, food options etc. The Valley Floor Tour was great and avoids the usual lack of parking at popular sites.

We chose this park because of the quality of their sister park in Arkansas. Was disappointed that the sites were so close together and interior roads were tight. You have to disconnect the tow before being escorted down a steep hill to get to your site. The dog park is full of grass burrs so had to groom the dog every time she went out. The laundry was clean but could use an air conditioner. Windows were open but hot inside. There were quite a few of mature trees in the park that provided some shade. I think this was a former KOA. You can tell they have made lots of improvements but need to do more. It's a little pricey but pretty close to Yosemite NP. We booked a 4 hour tour of Glacier Point via Yosemite Tours and glad we did. Roads are very steep and lots of hairpin curves. Our driver was amazing and knowledgeable about the area. Not much room for autos to park. Well worth it.

When you pull into this park and see the registration office and pool, you think....WOW...This is beautiful! But, over the hill to your site, and you realize all money was spent there and no where else! I would stay here again, but it seems like just an old KOA park type quality. We had site 18 - never got level - careful you don't fall off the ledge getting in & out of your RV! Barely room for car. It was very quiet. If we came again, I'd ask for a pull through or back in site numbers 6-11. Some sites have a very nice wooden deck. Large park but run down and needs some fix up at sites including a lot more gravel and leveling. For the cost, it's not up to par. Fire ring and picnic table were horrible. We camped at Yosemite RV Resort, RVC Outdoor Destination (formerly Yosemite South in a Motorhome.

Location was great to go to Yosemite. It takes an hour. Also nice car ride on CA200, to CA225, then CA FOREST RD 81 & FRONT 7 (dirt, but ok in car). Also take CA 120 up Yosemite mountain to Tioga Pass. Both rides are absolutely amazing!

First site 18 had no power. Newly renovated. Moved within one minute to 22. Had to upgrade. Going to the National Park tomorrow...so don't know how far a drive it is. Hilly area. Site sloped for drainage. T-Mobile coverage great. We camped at Yosemite RV Resort, RVC Outdoor Destination (formerly Yosemite South in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This could be such a great park has so many amenities but really falls short. Mostly it's poorly maintained. The grout in the bathrooms is gross dirty. Really needs a bleach bath. The laundry room really dirty. The TV cable is broken and they have no intentions of repairing. The retro trailers don't even have cable to tv's. We were able to pull in a few channels from our trailer. The Deli shuts down early Oct. The pads are dirt and gravel and very unlevel. Our friends stayed in a 30 ft Airstream which turned out to be an old Fleetwood look a like. Their propane gas ran out at night after office closed. There is no after hours number. We happened to have a portable heater we loaned them otherwise they were going to sleep in their car with the motor running. It was 30 degrees out!!! No hot water as well. They obviously don't check that before they leave so don't rent a trailer in winter. The trail around park is blocked so don't bother. The park is not flat it's on a hill. Don't choose spot near petting farm you will smell manure. To me these are all easy fixes which could take it to the next level! On a positive note close to park, mostly shady. The office people are nice. We camped at Yosemite RV Resort, RVC Outdoor Destination (formerly Yosemite South in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a great little market at the beginning of town of Groveland on Right. Also a pizza cafe excellent. Bring lots of leveling blocks. Don't have site near petting zoo. Don't rent trailer in winter if you run out of propane at night you are SOL. Town of Sonora has Walmart, Safeway, Doctor, vet etc. take pets to Live Oak Vet in Sonora awesome. Groveland Vet has bankers hours.

Just finished a four night stay here. Like others have said, this park is under renovation. Our stay was very pleasant, the sight was very nice, fairly level and a excellent patio right outside our door. The staff was friendly, and we frequently saw park personnel touring the park. There is a dog park which was an unexpected surprise. The power was reliable, the water was clean although a little low on pressure at 30 PSI. The Wifi signal was good and streamed Pandora with no interruptions. This park is more of a rustic place with modern amenities consistent with the forested surrounding. It is not a barren, concrete paved RV parking lot with no character. If that's your preference, you probably wont like it here. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will return. 10 minutes to Coarsegold, you MUST stop at Zander's Coffee. 20 minutes to Oakhurst where everything you might need is. Bass lake and Yosemite are more or less 30 minutes away. OR, just relax in the park and enjoy the scenery and beautiful night sky.

Overall Rating:

This is our third stay at an RVC Outdoor Destination park. This park is a work in progress. The bathrooms, laundry room, and office are newly renovated, kept very clean and are definitely up to RVC standards. The pool was clean and the pool furniture appeared to be new. The staff was amazing - very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there is a lot of work to be done to bring the campsites up to RVC standards. The sites are close together, unlevel and not well kept. The setup of the loop we were in required us to back up, out of our pull-thru site, in order to exit, as the previous exit road was permanently closed after septic lines were installed. This left only a narrow road on a curve that was blocked by trees on one side, with low hanging branches, and vehicles extending from other sites. We saw other campers having trouble exiting as well. Although our 5th wheel was under the 40' maximum limit, our truck only fit because we were on an end site. We were also able to open all 3 slideouts, but it was a tight fit. They still have a long way to go with regard to the campsites. The entrance to the park is hard to find, as there are no signs prior to the entry. This park has a lot of potential. I hope they continue with their renovations, bringing the park up to full RVC standards. We camped at Yosemite RV Resort, RVC Outdoor Destination (formerly Yosemite South in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent four nights here; outside of Yosemite Nat'l Park. Unfortunately, our planning was too late to get a spot inside the Park. The drive into the Park each day was longer than we would have liked, but doable (and scenic). There's good grocery stores in nearby Oakhurst, CA. This RV park has much new work happening; many new sites being created and the new bathhouse was very nice. The big swimming pool was a real plus for our family. The hosts were very nice folks and even helped us with a minor schedule change. If only it were nearer to Yosemite Nat'l Park, we'd stay again. Our site barely fit the width of our 8' wide motorhome with a picnic table due to sloping. Hard to level. WiFi service is a joke. Water pressure is a trickle at 10 to 20 PSI. I would not recommend anyone to stay here until they fix up this place. It is under new ownership and no longer a KOA. Way overpriced. They need to shut it down and just renovate it. This is a beautiful piece of land. The park meanders down a steep hillside. There are LOTS of older, large trees. RVC bought it from KOA over a year ago. They are in the process of renovating. The main roads are paved. You are led to your site, which is pretty much necessary, due to winding layout. The sites are grass/gravel. Many are very unlevel. We had a VERY difficult time getting level, using all 20 leveling blocks. Neighboring rigs could not get level. Some trees have been removed, but there are still some sites that are challenging for larger rigs. Hookups are to the back, on the side. Need long hoses. Had to increase from 15' to 20' for black tank. Direct tv needs long coax -50'. We have our own wifi, but heard from neighbors the provided didn't work. The pool is new with nice deck and umbrella tables, located at top of hill, by office. Great view for sunrise/sets. Laundry and bath houses are new. They have planned activities - Memorial day weekend had horseshoe games, brought in animals for a petting zoo, bounce house. We were allowed to wash our rv for a $20 fee. They have a ways to go, but this could be a fabulous park if they get the sites paved/leveled out. Based on what accommodations are in the area, we would stay again. We camped at Yosemite RV Resort, RVC Outdoor Destination (formerly Yosemite South in a Fifth Wheel.

Check-in with reservation was efficient and friendly. Gentleman on cart lead us to our site and was helpful. Although the original site would not accommodate our coach the alternative was adequate but un-level, with low tree branches. In all fairness this CG is more for the family back to nature typical to KOA adventure. We prefer the large coach friendly level in-out treeless versions. They were renovating both the laundry and restrooms in this section construction going on. DH typically reviews & uses showers etc., not here. The clubhouse renovation looked nice upon check-in, small store. Good location for National Forest access. We went a couple times. There was no internet access, although there was a marginal WiFi signal? Park was quiet and dark as some would prefer. Dog friendly in that your dirt grassy site and adjoining area were ample, scare lights & headlamp required. We carried our trash with us as the construction had things in disarray. If there was a trash receptacle it wasn't obvious. This CG has potential but not really our preference. Winding dirt and un-level for the most part. Obviously the draw of this area is the National Forest. It was beautiful, lots of snow still. Diesel wasn't too far away. We were unable to frequent any of the Niche type restaurants (BBQ, steak, etc.) as they all seemed to be closed on Mon. and beyond. Must have been to early in the season? There was a tasty Chinese restaurant in a strip shopping center many of the locals frequent & Carl's Jr.

The grounds and amenities are pretty good. The pool is great, the clubhouse is in remodel and supposed to be done Sept 9. Most of the sites are very tight with no picnic tables or hang out area. They are about to do some re-grading; hopefully they will put more space between sites. We had a hard time parking our tow vehicle nearby. Everyone we encountered was very friendly. They enforced quiet hours to the cabins nearby. We camped at Yosemite RV Resort, RVC Outdoor Destination (formerly Yosemite South in a Travel Trailer.
