This was a back up spot after our spot in Bridgeport had to close for a few days. We spent five nights in their best, most expensive, spot. Yes, it is right on the highway as most of the RV places along 395 in Mono and Inyo counties are. We knew that going in, so we did not worry too much about it. The big pull through sites can handle the big pusher motor homes. Our spot could handle large trailers and had a nice concrete pad and table with chairs, a BBQ, and a propane campfire pit with chairs. It is not often that we find place that our sewer elbow will actually screw into the threaded pipe but it did here. The owner had taken great care to level the sites. We were in a group of three trailers and none of us had to do anything to level up. There was a lack of shade in out spot but that will change in time since the owners have put in new landscaping. This is about the best RV spot in the county, but it is about a 40 minute drive to the Bridgeport area. With all the road construction it was more like 90 minutes We camped at Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Not sure why others are rating this park at 9.2. To us this is just an average park. Had to keep windows closed on the highway side at night as there was so much noise. Also feel the rates are too high. Cable TV was OK but channel selection was not good. Staff was nice. We camped at Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

Little town of Walker is only place to go and they only have a couple of decent places to eat - the BBQ place and Walker Burger.

We got a late start from our CA spot so finding this spot was a real treat! It is near the road but we didn't notice much road noise. Check in was quick and friendly. Our spot was very nice and we had a beautiful view of the mountains. We had a very brief stay as we had a lot of miles to cover the next day, but we would definitely come and stay longer! We camped at Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

They have 4 lovely clean, full, private bathrooms for campers to use. Very well thought out bathrooms. They have done a lovely job of updating this park and it was very clean. You do have road noise but it wasn't a bother sleeping. Nice folks who run the campground/motel. We camped at Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort) in a Truck Camper.

Owners very nice and helpful. Very, very clean bathrooms and laundry. Fabulous WiFi at no extra charge. The park is well thought out and the sewer is well placed and easy to dump. There is a nice patio with tables and chairs, large fire ring and bbq for visitors to use. We camped at Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

An excellent park, well-run and very clean. Generally good space between sites, picnic table at sites. EWS all fine (but connections are at the rear, so you may need extender). Very reasonable prices for laundry ($1.50 and $1.00), a well-laid out and equipped room. Four individual complete bathrooms with showers. Great common area with ramada for cooking (propane grill available) and eating/sitting. Store has reasonable variety of items, adjacent restaurant serves breakfast and lunch. There is some minor road noise, but it did not disturb us at all. Be sure you have what food/supplies you need, as the shopping in nearby Walker is extremely basic and expensive. The closest decent shopping is about 30-35 miles north in Gardnerville, NV. The park's wifi works well when there are few people around (very early/late and mid-day), but slows as people return and start using it. Even using a Wilson booster, there is no AT&T coverage here (map shows it, but when I contacted via wifi, they said nearest tower is 20+ miles away), and Verizon data is 99% of the time useless (1 bar with 3G). There is a pay phone at the office. Large enclosed area for dogs, and several paths thru the landscape are available. Staff is great, and it is an excellent park we would return to.

As we have found elsewhere in the Sierras, this is a bumper year for yellow jackets (lack of cold winters the past few years), to the point that it sometimes is impossible to sit out. They seem to be attracted to the hordes off dead bugs collected on your vehicle form driving even short distances, and even is cleaned off. Not true all the time, but a significant consideration (as in trying to eat outside). We camped at Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

They have 3 price ranges to choose from. We chose the middle range which gives you little more space and views of the rock wall and little further back from the road. All sites are gravel. Pull thru sites were most expensive. The check-in woman wasn't all that friendly. Her mood changed when we ask to change spots. The spot we ask to get was supposedly taken and so we chose another and of coarse the 1st choice was never occupied. The restrooms were some of the cleanest we've seen. But the pool at the motel was cloudy so we decided not to use it. They have a dog run and hiking trails behind the resort at the base of the mountain. Also on-site restaurant we didn't eat at. The have free propane BBQ's and a nice fire pit area to sit at. They have swings, volleyball and horseshoes. This area is very pretty with West Walker River across the highway. Great dog area in the back. The sites are plain with gravel but well maintained. Great mountain views. Wifi worked well. Only two washers and two dryers for laundry. Our son enjoyed the pool. Not much in the area for shopping (groceries). Only a few places to eat out nearby. We camped at Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is a combo of a Motel and RV park. Motel has nice landscaping with nice lawns. RV park is dirt/gravel/rocks not very appealing. Slots are decent sized and park is clean. Dogs are not allowed anywhere near the Motel areas. We were told pool was open, but it wasn't and is at the motel area. Very well managed and maintained. Quiet - it is a little way off the highway. My wife enjoyed the pool - too cool for me. Pretty surroundings, too. Fine for an overnight, and it would be good for a longer stay if you like to fish - the river is right nearby. What a beautiful setting with a large colorful cliff backdrop. Friendly owners and immaculate sites. Two dog runs with waste bags, cable TV and WiFi. There is also a restaurant on site for breakfast and lunch. Didn't try it, but the menu looked enticing. Would definitely stay here again. Nice park with level sites. Big off leash dog area and 2 small runs. Beautiful view of the mountains. The pool wasn't open when we were there, a little early in the year. The restaurant was closed the days we were there, though we would have tried it. We heard good things about it. We would stay there again. A beautiful small park, immaculately kept. Owners live on site and everything is managed well. Since we were here out of season, we had the park almost to ourselves. There is some road noise as the park is on CA Hwy 395. There is an area farther back (all back-ins) where it is quieter. Would absolutely stay here again. We camped at Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.
