Pretty much a dusty field with FHU and a nice little forest walk attached. Was a bit of trick to level but we managed. Good for overnight or base of ops for Crescent City area. No pool, but kid recreation area. Would stay again. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

Helpful staff, in fact they offered to trim a branch that was near our slide. All sites looked nice, A-1 that we were in was perfect. Plenty of room and very private. Easy in/out with 40 ft. motor hoe w/toad. Would stay here again. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed 3 nights, full hookups. Good location to tour the nearby redwood parks. Good laundry facilities, huge RV park with several areas for big rigs. Also has cabins and lots of loops for small rigs and tents. Nice grounds with lots of trees, including redwoods. Very helpful staff. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Tour Crescent City lighthouse, harbor and beaches. Tour nearby state and federal redwood forest. Lots of hikes available close by. Good grocery and hardware stores in Crescent City.

A very nice setting amidst the redwoods (only the tent sites are under the redwoods, the rv sites are adjacent). Somewhat narrow gravel access roads with some very tight turns for bigger rigs (if in a big rig going to the B row, go around the left side of the building, down the A row then into the B row - this avoids a tight S curve; don't try to exit between the A and B rows). Campsites are mostly level mix of grass, weeds, dirt, and gravel with picnic tables and fire rings. Pull thrus in B row long enough for a 44' class A with toad. Power OK, water pressure a bit low (35 to 40 psi), sewer ok (a bit tall so may be hard to get a slope). Wifi is adequate for surfing and e-mail, but it locks down quickly if you attempt more (I accidentally said yes to a software upgrade and got locked out 10MB into the upgrade). There are frequent re-authorizations required so if your email isn't working, go to a web page to get the internet re-authorized. Verizon cell is LTE with 3 bars and good speed. We will probably stay here in the future. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Try to catch the redwood groves in foggy conditions (Lady Bird Johnson Grove in late afternoon is good for this). Some of the best locations (e.g. Stout Grove) have very small parking areas and might be problematic on the weekends.

This is my favorite KOA so far. The sites are typical close KOA but with trees between. We spent the night in a driving rainstorm, our second night of this weather. All roads in the campground were under at a least an inch of water the entire time. They had a cute little K9 area which is sized for normal RV sized dogs, not ours. They weren't militant about dog rules especially with the weather. We did see Elk in the far back area which was cool. The laundry and bathroom facilities were clean and the management was friendly. Overall a very good KOA. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Look for Elk!

This is an excellent campsite and a refreshing change for a KOA. We couldn't fault it at all hence the 10 out of 10. It was also refreshing that it was $36/night with our KOA discount. Recently the campsites we have stayed at have been truly overpriced for far less amenities and service. The owner is friendly and helpful, our level site was spacious and plenty of length for trailer and tow truck. There is tent and small RV camping in the redwood forest area. Cable very good and WiFi/internet excellent. Easy access from highway 101 but no road noise and campsite very quiet, very convenient for Crescent City and The Jedediiah Smith Redwood Park. Very clean showers and restrooms. We certainly recommend this campsite. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

What a dump! What little grass there is was dead. Camp table filthy. Would not even sit outside. Roads I between site dusty. Obvious this place is operated by owners that don't have any pride on their job. If we could have left and not lost our deposit we would have? My advice? Keep driving! Ugg! We stayed here because of the reviews. Big mistake. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Absolutely beautiful campground. We camped here in our Aliner and a tent for my two teenagers. Upon checking in the host told us to look at the site to make sure it was acceptable as we had just left another campground that had no 'soft' place for a tent. Very clean park, plenty of picnic tables. My one year old grandson enjoyed the playground and the open spaces. The teenagers enjoyed the ping pong table. The only complaint was the bathrooms were closed in the late morning and we had to wait to use them, there was a second restroom we could us. The second day we were there the water was cut off and we couldn't take a shower. I don't know why the water was cut off but was told that the city had to turn the water off. I can't blame KOA for that but we weren't able to take a shower before our long car ride home. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Tent Trailer.

I was surprised by one of the previous reviews that criticized the cleanliness. The park has brown lawns because there is a drought in Calif. The owners came out and swept the campsite next to us after it was vacated. What more could you want? This is a regular KOA but the Redwoods in the back part of the park make it wonderful. It is great to walk through this area. Many tenters but no way an RV could maneuver in there unfortunately. Some of the cabins are in the trees, too, and it is very much like a fairyland with twinkling lights in the trees. This is a nice central area to stay while seeing the Redwoods and the town of Crescent City. No good walks from the park but driving into town to Pebble Beach Dr. offers a nice ocean stroll. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We generally don't stay at a KOA, but must say, this is a fantastic campground. The staff is friendly and helpful. The back portion of the park is covered with Redwood trees and when you are back there it gives the feel of being in a rain forest. It is awesome. The front part where we stayed is very well maintained. I would definitely recommend staying here. Our RV is 39' long. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

KOA Redwood RV Park in Crescent City, we have stayed here in October and will return. Check in is easy the staff is friendly and helpful. The sites are clean and level all good size, all pull throughs, big rig friendly. Good dog yard. Walk to dog friendly trails of redwood trees right out the campground and short drive to harbors or to many dog friendly beaches. The redwoods and coast line is incredible, 30 minutes to Oregon coast again many dog friendly beaches. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park in a great location with easy access off Hwy 101. Friendly staff offered suggestions for things to do in the area. We had a pull-through site which was mostly level with ease of access in and out. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our first stay at a KOA campground, so we did not know what to expect. The sites are very narrow and cramped. There were many screaming children (we were not far from the play area) and rude adults with children in tow wanting to cut through our campsite to get to the play area. Things did quiet down after 10 pm and road noise from Hwy 101 was not audible. Water, electric and sewer hookups were in working order. We did use the laundry which was neat and clean with big commercial dryers; not the little stacked type. Staff was friendly. All in all, it was not a bad stay as we were away from our campsite during the day. Place is quite worn, but it is clean. Don't really want to stay here again as we are not into "family" camping. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

Our RV site was level, gravel/dirt, with fire pit and picnic table. Wi-Fi and 50+ cable TV worked great. Quiet at night. We walked the campground and the back "tent & cabin" area is dense forest, one of the best tent areas we have ever seen, if you really want the pure camping experience. Showers and restrooms were clean. Family campground, bike rental, playground, game room, and pancake breakfast (seasonal). Quiet time (10pm) enforced. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
