Great place to stay while traveling thru or visiting the area. Large RV park with level sites. Most sites are pull thru except those facing the harbor which are either pull in or back in. Level gravel sites, utilities well placed. Easy check in. Convenient to everything in Crescent City. Good view of the Battery Point lighthouse and ocean at opening of harbor. We camped at Shoreline RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Attendants are friendly and knowledgeable of the area . Sites are large and easy to park . I chose the back in over looking the harbor the light house is off in the distance but you can hear and see it. The park is close to the redwoods and Crescent City. I took site 16 back in and there is still room to unload my Harley. This is a city owned park and there are no old beat up old RV residents camping here. We camped at Shoreline RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

In my opinion a ideal campground for overnight parking, easy access pretty level gravel sides with a concert patio and 50 amp full hookup.
The host was very friendly and let us choose a side between a ocean few motorhome only and a pull-thru side (we choose the ocean view side).
Between the sides is enough space with grass and a concert patio but no picnic table.
The wifi signal is on the hole campground very strong, the download speed is not great but good enough for emails and web surfing and AT&T provides 2 bars LTE.
Two of the three showers were out of order and only 2 restrooms are available. In my opinion not enough for this size of campground, they need a second building in the back of the campground. We camped at Shoreline RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Not worth$36. Left a day early without a refund. Some sites face the bay. Dirt roads and site, with very little gravel. Dirt and dead weeds between sites. Not acceptable park for us. It would take so little to make this part better. Basically a dirt parking lot. We camped at Shoreline RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Somewhat baffled by some of the other reviews. Service was very good. Site more than adequate. Easy to get to sites and to park. No issues with the berm or the noise from the foghorn. It was foggy during our entire stay so the foghorn blew the entire time. Crescent City is unlike some other towns nearby as it is not entirely dependent on tourists and we found most everything reasonably priced. A must see is the Redwoods! We camped at Shoreline RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Easy entry and exit for big rigs. Level gravel sites. Great wifi and TV. Right on the bay with view of the water and lighthouse (over a berm). Very convenient for visiting Redwoods National Park and the many state parks devoted to redwoods. Yes, there's a fog horn but it would only be a problem to those who are super-sensitive to such things. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Shoreline RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Marlo's Restaurant has great Italian and Greek food.

In Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, definitely go to Stout Grove on Howland Hill Road for a gorgeous half mile walk. Howland Hill is an amazing one-lane two-way road through the redwoods which has some VERY tight places. A dually can get through but not easily. It's also extremely dusty in the summer. If this doesn't sound appealing, go to and from Stout Grove from the Hiouchi entrance to Howland Hill.

We really enjoyed this park. It was clean, quiet and yes there is a fog horn but it wasn't that loud and had no problem sleeping with it. I didn't rate the showers as clean because of the sand people left in it. We would definitely stay here again. Great views of the ocean and lighthouse. Spent 2 nights. FANTASTIC view of the bay but beware, Fog horn sounds every 10 seconds. It was VERY windy. So bad, I pulled the slideouts in fearing the awnings would tear. This park needs work. Gravel roads have deep ruts. No facilities for disposing of dog waste.

Dog feces all along the berm separating the park from the beach.

Stay here only if you are a sound sleeper. We camped at Shoreline RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

It has beach appeal galore. Patrol is little to none. There were two groups blocking the only beach route last weekend. Dogs were unleashed, they had big party and even though I saw an employee visit, nothing was done about it. Other than that its been fine. We love the fog horn & harbor lights. You can see the lighthouse day & night. Its beautiful. The Wi-Fi is frustrating. Just be prepared to log on over and over and over again. Other than that it is worth visiting. Lots to see in the area. We will visit again. We camped at Shoreline RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for a week in April 2016 and our price reflects that. There are 4 kinds of sites: back in on the side, long pull-throughs in the middle and either back-in sites on the water for 5th wheels OR pull-in sites on the water for motorhomes. How cool. We had a motorhome site which we pulled into and our view out of the front window was exquisite. How many other RV parks have this option? There are 50A hook-ups, cable and good wi-fi (although there are only about 15 other rigs here using it but the wi-fi towers are throughout the park.) Our site is mostly level, we have a patio pad and the site is mostly small rocks so we aren't dragging in dirt or dust. This is definitely the place to stay in town for the view and the facilities.
Yes, the foghorn sounds every 7 seconds but, remember, it saves lives. It never bothered us. We also enjoyed listening to the sea lions. But the view - awesome. We camped at Shoreline RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to do. Learn about the tsunami history: two tsunamis have hit here and the devastation was terrible. People died, homes and businesses were destroyed. Walk the area to see how they have worked to make future tsunamis less damaging.
Walk the beach, tour the lighthouse and the museum. AND hike in the Redwoods. Jedediah Smith SP has several good hikes and the Stout Grove. South to Prairie Creek and hike the many trails there. Try the Fern Canyon trail for an interesting hike.

If you are looking to get out of the dark redwood forest, this is the RV park for you. There is not a single tree in the entire lot. The woman who checked us in said the place has been completely remodeled and reopened last May. You can get a back-in site at the water's edge, otherwise they are all pullthroughs. The roads are gravel and the sites are a gravel pad with a grassy area between. Though it has been raining a lot, there wasn't an overwhelming amount of standing water. Our was mostly level and required only one lego. Each has a concrete patio, but no picnic table. The restrooms were clean, but two of the showers in the women's room were out of order, leaving only one. From speaking with the front desk woman, it didn't sound like that was going to change any time soon. Cell service was good. We camped at Shoreline RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is an okay place, improved, I understand from other reviews, but way overpriced, at least for winter. They have painted the restrooms, but the showers, which we didn't use, still didn't look inviting. The park is right on the harbour, which is nice, and the distant foghorn didn't bother any of us. They have brand new utility stations and everything worked well, including wifi & cable. The sites are gravel, relatively level, but the place was filled with puddles due to recent rain. The managers were pleasant enough at sign in, but didn't answer their phone the day we were trying to check availability (there was lots). Easy access off Hwy 101. Concrete pads for picnic tables, but there weren't any. So, not much service, basic hookups fine, showers questionable, and no other amenities. Location is great, but it shouldn't cost this much. Disappointed. We camped at Shoreline RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

For what California has to offer in the way of oceanfront RV parks, Shoreline is one of the very best we've found. We stayed in 1991 when the park had many trashy looking locals residing. About 10 years ago we checked it out with the dinghy and it had further deteriorated. Having read that major improvements had been made, we revisited. It's great. Mid-November we got a front row pull in site that gave our Class A front window an awesome vista of Crescent City Harbor. Any seasoned Class A traveler will readily acknowledge how rare pull in sites are. A small concrete patio is provided where a DP door would be. Gravel pads provided excellent support for our 37' gasser at a time when the area was saturated with much needed precipitation. The grass between the sites could use some weed killer but looked good. And the view out our front window . . . We've paid 3 times the price for lesser waterfront views on the rare occasion when we could find them. In a separate area (so no dreaded side-by-side hook-ups) towables can be backed into harbor front sites also. The ever present distant foghorn simply added to the coastal ambience for me as did the occasional barking of sea lions. This park is the model the state of California needs to follow with its aging, over-priced, overcrowded beach area RV parks. The city of Eureka is to be commended for providing this well designed facility at a bargain price. We camped at Shoreline RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Park is right on the harbor in Crescent City.

Sites are all gravel with cement pad/patio on right side and "grass" around. I think the drought has had an effect - more weeds than grass. But the view across the harbor is great as is sitting on the dike and watching the pelicans frolic. But no picnic table - don't know whether they have been put away for the season or not?

Apparently washrooms in the park are not the park's, they're municipal. Two showers of the 4 are closed, probably due to end of season?! Washrooms are clean, but nothing special.

Wi-Fi is excellent - we were able to Skype with friends and keep our blog updated easily.

We stayed 2 nights. We'd stay here again, but probably not for an extended period - a bit too open for our liking. We camped at Shoreline RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

It depends what you are looking for - shopping (Safeway, etc) is only a couple of blocks away, WalMart a little farther.

Just make sure you gas up in Oregon if you are coming from the north - gas in Crescent City is $2.99/gal!
