This is an older park but they must have updated their sites at some point because the electric is 50amp and in very good condition. It's a very wooded park and clean. There are some permanent residents here and their trailers are pretty run down. The staff was very nice. The bathrooms were clean but the laundromat needs new machines. I would not use them. They were extremely old and not all working. Cable, 50 amp FHU. Wifi was too slow to use. ATT 60+ d/l, Verizon 9+ d/l unboosted. No T mobile. This is an easy off the hwy but set far back enough to not be affected by road noise. There's plenty of shopping nearby in Crescent City. I think it's probably the best choice for this area but it's not a destination park. We camped at The Redwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here three nights in our motorhome. The park is in a redwood forest - lots of redwood trees. Very cool temps in our site during a heat wave inland. Facilities are clean. Roads and campsites are powdered dirt. Not exactly an upscale resort. We camped at The Redwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.

If you like camping in the trees then this is the place to come. There are redwood trees everywhere. In fact in most sites the sun really never came through the trees. This of course made using a satellite dish impossible almost everywhere. Their cable tv setup needs to be upgraded because they only had maybe 10 channels with 2 or 3 of those being almost useless. The park had good room for most big rigs. However some of the sites were a little close to one another. In the end we will come back here again because of the redwood tree environment. We camped at The Redwoods RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Go check out the nearby Smith River area. It's a great area. Don't bother going to see the Crescent City area except for shopping. Lots of homeless around and nothing really cool to see.

Had a great stay at this park, We were back in an area where your surrounded by the big trees and no close neighbors (not all sites are). Not once did I hear my 8/10 year old say they were bored, lots of other kids in park and plenty to do from badmitten, volleyball,

tetherball, croquet, bean bag toss, ladder ball and more. They had a dog bath which was nice as we had been on road for a few weeks, 4 legged kid enjoyed the warm bath. Laundry leaves a little to be desired but everything worked. Was busy, not hard to do with only 2 wash and 3 dryers. Would look forward to staying here again but maybe in one of their cool little cabins next time if no RV. We camped at The Redwoods RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This has to be one of my all time favorite RV Parks. It is Midway between Crescent City and Smith River, California right off Highway 101 N. The Park itself is situated in the middle of an ancient Redwood Grove. The stumps from past harvesting are the size of small buildings but the "new growth" towers and envelop every site. All the RV sites have forest floor dirt and pretty level and will take rigs of all sizes, including those with towed vehicles. Ours was freshly raked before our arrival. While you can see other campers, all the sites have the feeling of seclusion wrapped by the forest surround. Plenty of room to open slides and extend awnings. The sites are full hook up including cable (which we did not use). Also there at the site, was a nice steel fire ring (also raked clean) and a picnic table. The whole park sports free wireless wifi that was pretty good. Reservations are strongly suggested as this park has been found by those in the know. Pricey but when you get the prefect forested campsite, all is forgiven. Easy check in and the staff is friendly and helpful. They have done a great job keeping the park in excellent shape. Laundry, bath and restrooms are available and were spotless during our visit. We camped at The Redwoods RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The personnel here are lovely people. The park itself is amazing with many huge, photo-worthy Redwood stumps with second growth throughout the park, as well as 100-year-old Redwood trees. Sites are gravel and well maintained, as is the entire park. About half the sites are nestled entirely under the trees; some out in the open; others with some shade. But be aware: I parked under trees, and heavy rain dropped dead pine needles and sap that stained my motorhome and are very difficult to clean. The showers were old but very clean with plenty of hot water if you shower at unusual times. Laundry is not good with 2 very old machines; TV reception is marginal; Wi-Fi awful! A nice, large playground gym set for kids is located in the middle of the park. This is a great location in which to rest and/or visit famous Redwood groves along old scenic highway along 101, and along 199 north, or take a trip to the beach. I would definitely stay there again, especially after labor day. We camped at The Redwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Very difficult to see turn-in to Redwoods Resort on Hwy. 101, approaching both from north and south. It is 7 easy miles to Crescent City for shopping. Try the Ling Cod fish and chips at Fisherman's restaurant south end of town. Harold's Computer repair at north edge of Crescent City on 101 was a Godsend!

Don't trust the shiny pictures on there website, 90% of the sides are in the dirt with no grass around you!

The campground is side by side to a mobile home park with no fence.

We booked a Full Hookup Premium Pull-Thru Side with 50 amp.

At the office they told us to keep the storage compartment locked because they have a lot of thefts in the last time on the campground.

The first side which they offered us was too small to use the slide outs (at the reservation we indicate the wide of our motorhome with 14').

Then they gave us an other dirty side neat the end area which offered only 30 amp. I drove back to the office and told the lady at the counter that we didn't like this place, she marked the available sides on a map and told us we can choose on but they were all only 30 amp.

We picked one, hook up our coach, tried to connect our macbook to the wifi which doesn't exist at this side.

I connected the cable TV, make a scan and received 11 channels in a really bad quality.

Because we didn't feel comfortable and safe it was the first time that we leave a campground. We camped at The Redwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a perfect campground to view the redwoods and Pacific coast. It is full of families with kids. Our 8 year old social butterfly loved the playground and nonstop friend making. Social kids will love this place. Large central playground/ladder golf/ volleyball field area. So it is louder here but it's a happy loud. Nice place to have a campfire and do s'mores. Sites are right in huge trees... Very cool. There is dust everywhere though. A definite goal of the campground should be to add gravel or asphalt as the budget allows. If that were fixed, it would be 100% cleaner, and I think reviews would go significantly up. So it was very challenging to keep two kids and two dogs sort of clean. Very cool though: Dog Washing Station! Love that! Don't let your dog go anywhere in the sand by the playground though. Fleas. California is apparently rampant with them and they are "playing" in the park. Keep your flea and tick meds up to date. People were pretty friendly here. Nice vibe. We camped at The Redwoods RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Stout Grove at 4 pm to see the redwoods is a good idea. 4 pm is when the sun hits them just right and makes a cathedral effect.

Don't go to coastal access beach just south of the campground. Looks sketchy: hypodermic needle in the sand and interesting people just sitting in cars for "no reason"....

Dirt was plentiful and filled the air. They tried to help the dust by keeping the speed limit at 5mph but most vehicles did not abide by that, thereby leaving lots of dust flying. They also tried watering down the roads but that only worked around the office area. No cable but was able to get satellite. WiFi was useless as there were way too many users and the speed was a crawl. We camped at The Redwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The giant redwood trees are spectacular. We went to see the "Big Tree" and were in total awe. Some small but good casinos not too far away. Went down to a secluded beach (very hard to find in California) called "Point St. George" and spent a couple of hours strolling and admiring the shells and unusual driftwood. Went to Stouts Grove and hiked down to the river. This entire area of California is very, very nice.

This private park has the look and feel of a wide open State Park. It's a great place to bring a group or have a family get together (or just to relax) We were very happy with the surroundings and the staff kept the place clean as a whistle.

There's some road noise if you're camped near the Hwy 101 side of the park, but it was not bad at all. We were in a 43 foot diesel pusher and our site was level, and plenty big enough to leave our towed vehicle hooked up. We'll definitely be back! We camped at The Redwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Crescent City is located about eight miles south, but if you're thinking there's some tourist shopping to do there, or a lot of tourist or nighttime activity, think again. We were actually pretty surprised at the condition of the town - it was pretty dumpy. There seemed to be quite a bit of construction going on so, hopefully, it'll get better.

We stayed here for a week. We were a group of three. Our sites were tucked away among the trees and were very private. The park was clean with great staff. The water went out one day. I was super impressed with how it was handled by the staff. They felt terrible, came around often with updates and gave each site 2 gallons for drinking water. Would definitely stay here again. Sites are of good size, fairly level and basically dirt. It rained on us and things got slightly muddy. The park is really in the trees so slightly dark. On a whole, this is a nice park in a very scenic location. Located right off the coastal highway, but there is little road noise because of trees and structure blocking it. Entrance sign is a little hard to see and slightly confusing, so watch out. Family and dog friendly along with easy big rig access. We would certainly use this park again. It is a great base camp for seeing the area. We camped at The Redwoods RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Discounted rate for a FHU, 30 amp, level and spacious site comfortably situated between the redwoods. Cable TV (standard definition) with limited channels. WiFi (Tengo) worked well. No satellite reception because of the trees. Good Verizon cell and MiFi reception. The park was quiet at night. We stayed two nights in a pull-thru site and three nights in a back-in; both worked well for our 33' class A motorhome. The roads and sites are dirt/gravel; dusty when dry and muddy when wet. We would stay here again. We camped at The Redwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.
