Beautiful wooded, established campground close enough to US-101 for transiting but far enough away to not hear it! Highway is closer than the ocean but we could hear the foghorn! Very, very friendly staff with a lot of seasonal rigs with decorative landscaping. Our site became a huge pull-thru due to demand and it was perfect for our big rig. Wi-fi is $10 a week for 2 devices but did not drop. AT&T signal was decent and we had a great spot for Direct satellite access. We camped at Village Camper Inn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Battery Point Lighthouse, nice marina and nearby beaches. Fabulous Redwood groves both to the north and south with dramatic scenic drives. Klamath River beach near the Pacific featured sea lions, otter, pelicans and sea birds feasting on salmon returning to the river at high tide.

Older facilities but clean. Staff was very friendly and put us in a site that met our needs (satellite access with possibility of staying several weeks). Paved road system was good. Our site was grass and was just deep enough for our 38' motorhome and wide enough to easily park our tow next to it. We did not put pads under our jacks and they sank slightly during our stay. It had been very dry lately so if the ground would have been a moist we would have definitely needed pads. Some of the sites are gravel where you probably would not have that problem. Water pressure was good and tasted OK. Verizon voice was 2 bars and data was adequate. Wi-fi was an extra charge per night so we just used our cell data. Satellite reception was fine as we were in the open but some of the other sites are under tall trees so make sure you request what type of site you need. The park was in a great location for seeing the area redwoods and only 15-30 minutes away from some nice hikes in Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park. Walmart was just down the road and a Safeway just a bit further. We did not use the restrooms or the laundry room so can't comment on those. Rate reflects weekly rate. We camped at Village Camper Inn RV Park in a Motorhome.

There are a variety of sites here. We had a large site in the trees and were very satisfied. Some small sites would not have been so nice. The office staff were very nice and helpful. Wifi costs extra. Verizon worked well. Many stores nearby to restock. We camped at Village Camper Inn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Everyone suggests going to the Chart Room. Very touristy fried food. Better was the Crescent Seafood also at the harbor. Hard to find but good fresh seafood. The Port of Pints another good place for good beer and friendly people. This is a good base to visit the Redwoods and other parks.

Very rustic park, nice stop off the 101. Camp if very treed and is very scenic. Our site (#50) was level. Dirt/gravel with a bit of grass. Interior roads are asphalt and easy to navigate. Our site was a pull though. Might be able to get satellite with a carry out, but park has 38 station cable. WiFi free for a bit then $3.00 charge per day/2 devices. Full hookups good: 122 volts, good water pressure. Hookups are to the mid /rear of the site. If you want satellite coverage and more grass, sites 200-2013 are larger; back-ins seemed easy enough. Site 50 has more trees and atmosphere, but sites are close. Verizon, T-Mobile good signal. Laundry $2.50 wash $2.00 dry. I would unhook toad at check-in, although it can probably be done near site. Loved the redwood smell of the park. Laundry $2.00, average facilities. No off-leash dog area, but large park and plenty of room to walk Rover. Would like to see the WiFi be free. It is a very scenic park, and one close to Crescent City with many attractions and things to do. Would stay here again. We camped at Village Camper Inn RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were excited to try this RV park. Reviews were strong and the reservation process was very positive. I was kind of a pain and had to call several different times with questions. Reserved a sunny site with a cement pad, was told there was no fire ring but we could bring our fire bowl. The lady I spoke with on all occasions was VERY nice and patient. We even adjusted our dates and cancelled a day with no penalty. Finally arrived and was checked into a heavily shaded site with no cement pad and a fire ring. The complete opposite of what we had talked about on the phone 4 times. They said there was no note on our reservation indicating site type and options for what we wanted were so limited we stuck with what we were given because it was larger and more private. The site had not been raked, heavy pine cones and pine needles, I had to sweep it myself so we could walk evenly. The site was so shaded and in the trees we fought mosquitoes the whole time. Bring bug spray, used fogger at our site, helped a little. Reviews mentioned camping under the Red Wood trees but we didn't see any. We were camped under Douglas Fir. Picnic table was muddy. There was a fire ring, so we had hauled our bowl for no reason. Had to pay $3 for wifi but service was very good. The bathrooms were clean, but the shower didn't drain and created a 5" deep moat of slimy dirty water that ran all the way out of the shower stall. I'm usually not squeamish, but it was the grossest campground shower experience I'd ever had. Also laundry was expensive, about $5 to wash and dry a load. But sites were not as nice as they seemed in the pictures. Sunny sites with pads very close together. We camped at Village Camper Inn RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed in a 43' motorhome to visit the Redwoods and Crescent City. Easy to find from Hwy 101. Paved road thru park then gravel into site. Site was level and had good utilities. Stayed in pull thru site among the Redwood trees. Close to Hwy 199 and the Jedediah Redwoods. Crescent City offers excellent views of the ocean, Lighthouse and seals along the rocks. If in the area would stay here again. We camped at Village Camper Inn RV Park in a Motorhome.

FHU, 50amp pull-through site, cable TV, WIFI is free only on your first day $3/day thereafter. We barely made it through 2 big redwoods for the turn into our site (we have a terrible turning radius on our motorhome) but other than that everything was fine here. We did, however, have folks pulling in next to us at very late hours and setting up at nearly midnight which was annoying with all the closing of doors and drills used to crank out leveling jacks. Guess "quiet time" does not apply when it comes to income. Stayed 4 nights to visit the redwood forests nearby which are impressive. We camped at Village Camper Inn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Spent one night here. VERY nice setting in the Redwoods. Close to all the fantastic Redwood attractions. Very nice and friendly staff. The 50 amp service socket was broken at my site. I call the office and they said they would repair it immediately. I was just staying one night and told them not to worry. The 30 amp service worked fine! First thing in the morning a very nice gentleman showed up to repair it. Really a great place to stay. Will definitely stay here again !!! We camped at Village Camper Inn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good utilities. Wifi $3/day for 2 devices. Laundry expensive ($2.50 wash and $2 dry). Fair spacing between most sites. Quiet and peaceful. Concrete patio, fire ring, picnic table.

A large facility, about 25% transient/75% long-term (mostly neat): areas widely separated, looked like our area was for transients. Park broken into several distinct areas, so it doesn't feel as "big" as it otherwise would.

Lots of shade, if that's what you want- I'd have preferred no shade with the rain (dirt/some gravel pads). Tree overgrown, could just barely get MH into site-roof became inaccessible because tree covered entire back half of roof access. Most of the gravel is gone, so sites are mostly dirt. Plenty of room in the pullthrus to park toad, etc. We camped at Village Camper Inn RV Park in a Motorhome.

A rustic but very nice park. Lots of trees so those looking for satellite may want to make sure you let them know when you make reservations, since there are some places that allow a lock on. Ok, first review for me, the monthly rate is $343 plus electric. This RV park has a lot of full timers in clean rigs and the area around them is clean. We had a 34 ft 5th wheel, no problem in a back-in. Plenty of room to park tow vehicle in front of rig. Try to find a site not backed into trees (for example, #231); it is very cold after sun passes overhead. Slight walk to trash bins. No club house, and no central gathering place. They do have horseshoes and lots of places to walk. Dog friendly and firepits allowed. Staff very friendly, easy check in. If coming from the south get off at Parkway Dr just north of town. Entrance comes up quickly so go slow. All in all, a great stay. Lots to see and do. Would of given it a higher rating except for tent sites mixed in right next to rigs, and in the sites in the 200s you will hear roosters all day long. We camped at Village Camper Inn RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Price reflected a Good Sam discount. This is a very nice park with plenty of shade from young redwoods. Check in was easy and clerk was very friendly. We arrived before their checkout time, however she found us an open site and we were on our way. We unhooked our tow at the checkin line, as there is a pretty sharp turn to enter the park. This was not a problem as we planned on staying a few nights and were going to unhook anyway. Campground is clean and is quiet. There are a few passing cars on the street out in front of the campground, but we didn't notice any road noise. I should say that we rarely do, even in parks where reviews mention road noise. Our site was fairly level and graveled. There is grass between the sites, although it is more of a sparse meadow grass instead of lawn quality. There is room for our slideouts, however there was a 5' diameter redwood about 1-1/2' from our slide. There was about 15'-20' between our rig and neighbors on each side making the spacing better than most parks we have stayed in. There is no wifi, but our Verizon signal was strong, and we have found most campground wifi to be subpar anyway. Cable is available with over 40 channels available. We found the signal to be strong and clear at our site. There is no designated dog walk area, but plenty of room to walk your dog on a leash. This is a good park for an overnight or for a several day stay. We would stay here again. We camped at Village Camper Inn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camping with the [younger] redwoods! Neat. Rained one night and trailer sat in its own, private lake in the morning. I was cleaning redwood pine needles from the slide roofs for days. Very quiet. Friendly staff. Gravel/dirt sites need better drainage. Easy in and out. Big rig friendly. Store carries emergency supplies but grocery stores in town are available.
