Good overnight, but they only have one site big rig (>40') can fit into. They were without a manager so nobody to check in. Just filled out the form and a resident led me to the site which is right next to the office. You have to go around a block to get into it. They have a couple of pull into/backout of sites but small. I was not able to get them on the phone before coming to find out if they had a place for me. I was lucky that they did. Pool and Hottub we OK. You could play golf for a fee. Closest store is an hour away. There is a restaurant at the exit and some truckers were parked at it but we didn't try it. I will stay there again IF I can get them on the phone to verify that site 100 is available. Also, it is a pull thru but not long enough to leave towed on. WIFI was good once it started to work. When I got there I could not get to the internet through it. Then magically I could. Then a big dust storm came through and it went away. An hour later it came back and stayed. It was fast when it was working. TMobil was 2-3 bars. No local stations and no cable. Dish didn't work because of the storms. I was able to stream thru WIFI. We camped at Lake Tamarisk Desert Resort (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Great facility, small pool. VERY friendly managers.......BUT....be aware that the nearest store is over 50 miles in either Indio or Blythe. The nearest gas is 20 miles away. Lot's of snowbirds and park models. Everything was clean and the residents are very friendly. We camped at Lake Tamarisk Desert Resort (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Cottonwood entrance to Joshua Tree Natl Park is 20 miles away. Gen. George Patton museum is 17 miles away. 9-hole golf course nearby and it was a great shape and was fun. Lot's of ATV routes right out of the campground.

Talk about your oasis in the desert! We were very happy to find this after driving all day in the desert. The location is easy off the interstate, and the roads wide and easily accessible for larger units. The manager was very nice and accommodating. the site was level and all utilities worked fine (50amp). The park is actually a mobile home park with RV sites as well. We stayed at the spot next to the office/pool area which is where I believe they try to put most RVers. We were there after all the snowbirds left so the place was pretty empty and quiet which was nice after some of the spots we had in California. They have a very nice lake with a walking trail around it. We would definitely use this park if we are in the area again! We camped at Lake Tamarisk Desert Resort (55+ Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Friendly check-in. Very clean showers and good water pressure. Only one pull-thru site. The rest are head-in, back-out. Only one shower in each bathroom. No shade, but some nicely landscaped trees and plants. A swimming pool, but it is closed early in the afternoon, during the hottest part of the day. Fine for an overnight. Overall Rating:

Stopped here after first checking out the only other campground in the area. Though we paid twice as much at Lake Tamarisk, it was WELL worth it. This place is an oasis in the desert. It is predominately park models and snowbirds, but they do maintain some transient sites. Ours was level with full hookups. They have a heated salt filtered pool and a hot tub. Although NO over the air TV or cable hookup, lounge was open and available to go and watch TV. Internet connection was excellent. Mangers were very helpful and friendly. Reasons to downgrade: Lack of TV, only one shower/toilet in club house area, lack of any amenities nearer than 30 miles. Make sure you have what you need. But if you want to play golf, they have a small course here. A great place to overnight or two. We camped at Lake Tamarisk Desert Resort (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Level gravel sites, uber-friendly managers. This clean park was a welcome oasis of oleanders and palm trees in the surrounding heat. Would have rated a '10,' but only 1 shower, 1 men's toilet, and the swimming pool can only be accessed with a deposit/card, which makes early departure difficult. We camped at Lake Tamarisk Desert Resort (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Good clean, quiet resort. The people - both staff and residents -- are friendly and helpful. Good power and water pressure and easy to get to from the interstate, but far enough away that there is no traffic noise. Pet friendly. Would stay here again. We loved this place. People were great! We were able to go out back and boon dock so our 2 Basenjis could play in the desert. Had room inside but we chose to stay in the Mojave. Had access to the pool and showers which were spotless. We will come back here. We camped at Lake Tamarisk Desert Resort (55+ Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

This place is great! We found it on this web-site and decided to give it a try. Came in for one night and stayed a week. We were sorry to leave. It's close enough to Joshua Tree National Park to make it a great base camp for day trips out into the desert to explore. The second we pulled up to the office we were greeted warmly by the managers and escorted to our site quickly. This is a small snowbird community that happily welcomes all of their guests and makes them feel at home right away. Spotless clean facilities and a very nice pool and spa. Also, a fun and challenging golf course that is also very reasonably priced. Highly recommend this place, we'll be coming back for a longer visit next winter! An excellent park off the beaten path near Joashua Tree Natl. Park. Easily reached from Exit 192 on I-10. Park is a co-op, owner/operated so you won't find it in Good Sam's listings. Most sites are occupied by long-term owners or sub-lets but we were welcomed. Nice pool and hot tub; golf course. One of the nicest and well maintained camps we've stayed in. We camped at Lake Tamarisk Desert Resort (55+ Park) in a Travel Trailer.
