I thought the park was very nice. Most of the RV's were gone for the season, so that section of the park was pretty empty. That helped when backing our 42' fifth wheel over the street curbs into our spot. The pool with varying temps, depending on how close you were to the source of the hot spring, was great. Also has 4 large jacuzzis of varying temps. The permanent sites were well kept. We camped at Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Mostly park models and indications are they don't think much about RVs (especially big rigs). First, if you come in and no one is in the guard shack to tell you, note the orange line on the road inside the gate, follow that - after a while you'll see a sign telling you that (geez!). Then there are the less than 90 degree road intersections, some single lane roads and, by the way, with tight turns its not a good idea to have a rock pile for landscaping at the corner. Its possible to get a big rig around, just not much fun - and that's with the park mostly empty. Apart from that, our site was OK - pretty level sand, cracked concrete patio, bent legged card table for a picnic table I guess(?). Nice pool and other common facilities. WiFi was OK, which puts it above most RV parks in that department. All told, I don't know what this park might offer over all the other similar ones in the area to make it worth dealing with getting a big rig in and out of it. (How much trouble would it be to put a sign in the window of the guard shack saying what the sign 50 yards inside the gate says????) We camped at Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Been here before, this time also nice and helpful staff at check-in. Wide sandy sites, ours not level side-to-side. Concrete sitting area, no table. TV-channels are provided via an external box mounted beneath the electricity connection. Works very well with the included remote control. Beautiful pool area with four hot tubs. Very clean restrooms. Wi-Fi was dramatic this time. This is a problem on many campgrounds: a good Wi-Fi, except when there are many people camping. I expect a good Wi-Fi when it is in the list of amenities, also in high season (when prices are up)! We camped at Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is based on 50% off with Passport America. The site was very wide with plenty of room to park our car beside the Motorhome on the site. We checked out 2 other sites and found that they were not very level side to side and you should pre-check your site before driving your RV on it as there is not a place to park your RV except at the check-in which can only be accessed from the entrance road. The sites are spread out over a large area in this Resort and it can be quite a distance to get to the pools, laundry, and garbage walking uphill! Even the pickelball courts are located at the entrance to the Resort and it is quite a hike to walk to them and back. The Resort is not conveniently located to any retail shopping; must drive around 25 minutes. We camped at Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

This is a snow bird destination near Palm Springs, CA. They have mostly permanent manufactured homes with some sites open for RVs. The park has terrific facilities with a large clubhouse, mineral pools, spas, mineral showers, sauna, etc. The bathrooms and showers are spotlessly clean. There is WiFi included that we found to be responsive and reliable. They sponsor many activities for the residents and visitors. There is a very nice nine hole, par 3 golf course within the park. The RV site was nothing special, just an open dirt/gritty gravel surface area with a concrete patio. There is no picnic table or fire pit. The site was very deep with plenty of room for our motorhome and car to park. There were full hookups with 50amp electric, sewer and water. It is a bit isolated in that you must go 6 miles for any shopping but about double that for any real selection. As a first time guest, we got a 20% discount on the weekly rate. Otherwise, it's a little bit costly. We paid a discounted rate of $280 per week. We camped at Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

The park has a large portion that is park models that are owned by full time residents. The RV parking is intermingled between some and there are areas that are RV's only. The parking area's for RV's are mostly back in with full hookups. The hot tubs are natural hot springs, no sulfur smell. There are 5 different hot tubs surrounding the very large pool. Only issue, the wind can really blow here very hard for days at time. 40-70 miles per hour is not uncommon. There is many things to do in the Palm Springs area. We camped at Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The living desert is a must. The tram to 8,300 ft is awesome with great views. The Palm Springs Art Museum is a must see and free on Thursday nights. Down town Palm Springs closes Indian Canyon for 10 or more block on Thursday night at 6:00 for street vendors. The College of the Desert has a Flea Market on Saturday and Sundays. There are many farmer's markets on different days.

Would have given it a 10, however we arrived on Thanksgiving Day and there was NO one to assist us, just an envelope with directions to our site. We got there and someone else was all ready in the site we were assigned. We found a vacant site and set up for the night. Next morning we were told we had to move, not what I wanted to hear. Moved to the new site and went to hook up to cable and was told that site was not able to pick up cable since it had not been set up yet. Very frustrating to say the very least. Other than that all was great. Friendly and helpful staff, facilities are great and very friendly people all over the park. Sites fairly level, convenient utilities and the neighbors helped us back our 5ver into the spot! No shade and it was hot in November. Dirt site with concrete patio. Site #205 on the corner. Oh ya, you must use the hot mineral pools while there! The club house is great and offers about anything you would desire. Nice place!! We would highly recommend the tram ride up the mountain, very interesting and beautiful. Also visited Joshua Tree while there and Whitewater was interesting too. City of Palm Springs offers lots of restaurants, shopping and easy to get around in. Just be prepared, $$$$ very expensive place to visit.

This was our first visit to this park. No real complaints. We had site 304, which was in the southwest corner of the property. The pad was packed dirt/sand with a concrete patio. Utilities were good with the utilities located at the rear of the site. Didn't try their cable, used our satellite dish. The wind can howl but we did enjoy the fresh air and clear nights for star gazing. This resort is full of park models and golf carts and did have open spaces for travelers. The pool and 4 spas are fed by hot mineral springs which was very enjoyable. There are many activities such as cooking classes, movies on Mondays, pickelball, golf and many others. The roads are tight for large RVs but worked OK for TT. The main gate closes at 4pm so a keycode is needed for entry. Clean shower/locker room and laundry. A keycard must be purchased at $5 before you can use the machines. It works as a debit card as you load it with funds to use the machines ($1.50 to wash and $1.75 to dry). We did enjoy the laid back atmosphere. Restaurants are few in town. Dining will be found in the Palm Springs proper. Since there are many "residents", they tend to be "clique-ish". Trash receptacle is located outside of the park, along with the dog park. This place is SO large, a map is need to navigate. Would return again. As a retirement center for folks over 70, this place is a 10. However, as an RV park for folks spending a few nights or weeks, it's not so good. The RV area is just a sand spit with broken cement slabs. No trees, few plantings, pretty ugly. All the facilities and services are geared towards the long-term and/or full-timers. So we, as casual travelers, didn't feel very welcome in using the resort facilities. The wifi, however, is great. So how you rate this place just depends on what it is you're looking for. Remote part of Desert Hot Springs. Nearest grocery store is about 10 miles away. Same for gas station. Not convenient to Palm Springs, etc. So, great if you want to sit and play golf. Not so great if you want to see the local sights.

This is our second visit to this park. We enjoy the area and love the thermal pool, so we came back. People are pretty friendly but rather clique as many have been returning for years. There are so many things to do in the area and we chose a site (456) with a view. That was beautiful but the price to pay is WIND, which can rip through the valley with a vengeance. Be aware whether you want ambiance vs comfort. Park is centered around golf. Good roads for bikes but narrow for large rigs. Seems they are looking to convert park to all park models. Laundry clean but inconveniently located at main office building. We felt safe and met some nice people and would return again. Sites are old but more than adequate, easy to level. No tables at sites. Water was barely potable per our tester so everyone uses bottled water (.30) that was cheaper at local kiosks. Only one trash dump that was frequently out of order but maintained with alternate plans for collection, again inconveniently located only at entrance to park. Staff were all friendly and actively trying to sell park models, inviting us to BBQ sales talks every week. They weren't too pushy and we did not attend talks. All in all it was a satisfactory two month stay for us, without incident. We camped at Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

A nice facility, with plenty to do. Sites are spacious. All sites are gravel, but have a concrete patio. The mineral water pool and hot tubs are a huge positive. All are between 90 and 104 degrees. The laundry is a huge negative. Machines take a card which cost $5 plus whatever is put on it. All refills are in $5 increments, with no refunds. WiFi is good. Cable is poor....you need a TimeWarner box to get most channels. We camped at Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

The main attraction to this park is the superb hot springs fed pool complex. Excellent. Older park with majority of permanent casistas. Numerous ones showing their age as are most residents. Very nice Chapel services dyring peak season. Not a family or kid friendly park. RV sites are sand, not very level but adequate. Site 293 is larger than most but not at all level. You have to back over high curbs on most RV sites. No shower/ restrooms except in pool area, which have been remodeled and are kept very clean. Deck area around water complex needs refurbished. Must wear shoes due to small stones. Close to Palm Springs attractions and shopping. Discount was good. Would not pay high monthly or annual rate. This was an overnight stop over on our way to Mesa, AZ from the California coast. Arrived on Sunday and the office is closed. Packet was waiting for us - but the map is none to clear and street markings aren't that great. Very tight driving in the park - especially making turns. I'm sure that for an extended stay it would be fine, but for an overnight I wouldn't recommend it. We camped at Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.
