This is a pretty nice park with spacious sites. We enjoyed the hot tubs which are three different temperatures fed by hot springs. We were close enough to Cathedral City to enjoy some of its amenities. Our two complaints are the desk clerk was rather put off when I called from our site politely requesting to move. We had just gotten there, and, despite the park being quite empty, we were placed right next to someone with an extensive outdoor TV setup right next to our bedroom slideout and backed up to someone else with outdoor fencing for their little yappy barking dogs. Having recently come from another park with a couple that loved to sit and talk and make phone calls just feet from our bedroom, we weren't about to subject ourselves to that again. We did get moved but not without a lot of grumbling from the clerk. Our other complaint is the sites are deep, soft sand, making leveling difficult. We had to dig out pits on the high side to get level because our blocks on the other side would just sink in. All that aside, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. We camped at Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We enjoyed this park. KOA has taken it over in the last year, so the updates are starting to happen. We stayed in a gravel site, level, backed by large trees, so had shade during the hottest part of the day. Some sites have trees/bushes between them, but we opted for the spot with the most shade. The park was very quiet, probably less than 1/3 full when we were here. WiFi was excellent, and there was some TV, if that's important. There are 2 fenced dog areas, but you can walk your dogs around the park. Food stores/restaurants are at minimum 5 miles away, and there is a large Walmart and other stores about 12 miles away - that to say, it's pretty quiet and out of the way. The pool was clean, and while the showers are old, they are clean. Apparently they are in the process of updating these. Every staff member I encountered was very friendly, and extremely helpful. We changed our booking from 3 night to 10, no problems - they made sure we could keep the same site. We would stay here again. We camped at Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Surprisingly, the park was only about 1/3rd full so few RVs were parked on top of each other. Plenty of things like mini golf, shuffleboard, pool, etc. Only drawback I came across was low water pressure which made taking a shower in my RV less satisfying. We camped at Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This park was very nice and well maintained. Understand this park is in the middle of the California desert, grass is in short supply. All sites are tightly packed gravel. I noticed another review the same time we stayed, and I wondered about the dead tree comments. All the trees we noticed were alive and well, and we paid particular notice of them because my husband had to remove a small branch that was rubbing on our unit. The hook-ups are set rather far back, and we had to be close to the one at the end of our site. They are currently working on what appears to be a fenced-in dog run, and it appears that it will be divided for large and small dogs, perhaps? A good idea if so. The mineral spas on the property were clean, quiet and relaxing. Trash receptacles were hard to find, and they definitely need to provide more than were available, we carted out our trash as one couldn't be seen on our way out of the park. We stayed here because we wanted to see the desert flower "super-bloom", and we weren't disappointed. Mentioned this to the gate attendant as we came in, and she was very helpful providing me with suggestions where to go and when to go...(some flowers close up in the mid-day desert heat). Everyone was very nice, and very helpful. Internet is provided by Tangonet, which isn't very wonderful but it worked as well as any camp provider normally does. My tablet, which doesn't have IE explorer or firefox search engine didn't work, but my husband's computer worked fine. It mentions that in the instructions they provide you, but I spent a lot of time trying before I noticed that. The surrounding area is rural, with few activities. No store in camp area, be aware. No fire pits provided, nor do we know if allowed. BBQ's not provided but are allowed. High winds prevented us from using ours, so we cooked in the rig. We camped at Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA in a Motorhome.

This is the desert, north end of Palm Springs. Rural areas, not a lot of activities close.

We paid $50 per night but read reviews that say it was $20+ a night, not sure why we paid more. If we had driven into the park to see the sites, we would not have stayed. The weeds are out of control and the dead trees make you wonder if anything is being done to improve this campground. The sites are all sand with no gravel. The WIFI is all but non existent and hard to get into. We will not stay in this RV park again unless it is improved. This park is also in a city that has one of the highest crime rates in the area and the flimsy gate does not make you feel safe. Having spikes if you come in the exit gate is something we have never encountered before and only made me wonder from the beginning who they were keeping out. We camped at Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our 2nd time to stay here, this time for 2 weeks with one week being PassPt Am. Nice park, clean - even rake the sites between occupants, handles big rigs easily, Several times a week lunches or dinners are offered that we enjoyed a couple times, also ice cream sundaes twice a week all for a modest price. Would pass next time on the cinnamon rolls as they were obviously from a "pop em open" carton. The activities director not only plans the activities but she also leads them, 3 - 4 activities a day; we enjoyed the water aerobics. The hot tubs and mineral water are the draw. Don't let appearance deceive you; the mini golf is very difficult. Bathrooms with showers and laundry in back of park very clean. Showers at pools very hard to regulate temperature. Probably won't stay here again because it is official that it will become a KOA, with some minor improvements but mostly price increases. We camped at Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA in a Motorhome.

Lovely park. Friendly people. We participated in more activities at this park than we have at any other park we have been to in 2 years of full timing. The mineral swimming pool is clean and inviting and does not leave you stinking of chlorine, great for laps. The mineral hot tubs are delightful. Made new friends in the pools. The hosts are friendly, a wide variety of social and physical activities are scheduled every week. There are shuffleboard, horseshoes, pickleball courts and miniature golf. We look forward to going back. The only thing it lacks is a dog park. We camped at Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed for 2 months that is the $22 a night rate. Staff was wonderful, park has undergone a lot of upgrades. Pool and spas were clean. Not good wifi as you had to pay daily rate, and it was not that good. No cable but over the air is good. Verizon worked great. Power was good, water pressure was good. Sites are either sandy or gravel. Easy to use and good space between sites. News was the park has been sold and may be a KOA. We camped at Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park in a good location. The staff were very friendly. The grounds were well kept. The sites were level and long enough for the 39 foot RV and the toad. Everything worked well. The internet is spotty and there is an additional charge of $2 per day for it. The pool and spas were very nice. The roads are a little bit narrow but doable. The utilities are at the back of the site so you may need extensions for sewer and water. Across the road, there is a great large open area where you can walk your dog or yourself. There are no tables at the site. We would definitely come here again. We camped at Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA in a Motorhome.

Price was excellent for what is offered. The only pool is good, thermal pools excellent. Park very well maintained for its age. Mini golf is toughest ever encountered and in need of renovation. Only one bath house for 300+ sites. Only 2 toilets in men's room. 2 pool tables are in fair condition. Park shuts down end of April so while we were staying there we no activities. This park is geared for seasonal seniors. Not really family or kid friendly. Staff excellent. Sites mostly level and larger than most, and many are 50 amp. No picnic tables. No store. Only a soda machine. No run down units on premises. We camped at Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA in a Motorhome.
