This aa older park that CalAm is trying to make work for newer and larger rigs. The lots very sub standard. Had to use a lot of blocks because of the lots being so unlevel. Mostly soft sand and not much rock which made the inside of our mh a mess to keep clean. Wind ,wind , and more high wind. Had our slides pulled in a lot of days. If you drive 8 miles to Palm City or Desert Palms, very little wind while it was horrible in Desert Hot Springs. Locals told us this side of the valley is always very windy. Proof being the windmills by the hundreds in the area . Very scary crime area! A lot of older park models. One big thing, streets and lots are very narrow. Watch everyone struggle to back their rigs in. Two people caused damage trying to get in or out. Definitely not a enjoyable place to be in a larger rig. Will not be back. Booked a month here and left early . We camped at Sands RV and Golf Resort (55+ Park) in a Tent.

Overall Rating:

This is an older park, mostly geared towards snowbirds who come and stay for the winter. It's a mix of park models and RV sites. The farthest loop, which is where they usually put short term guests, has smallish sites with an odd location for the utilities. The water, electric, and sewer are all located at the back of the site, not in the middle of the site. You can put your rig on the right side of the site to line up with the utilities, but then your door opens onto bushes that border each site. The other option is to park your rig on the concrete pad (half on, half off) and run all your lines under your rig. The park is a bit hilly and you may need to drive up on blocks to get level. The park has very nice pickleball courts and bocce ball courts. We had several windy days there, windy enough to bring one of our slides in. We camped at Sands RV and Golf Resort (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Stayed here in 2015 had no problems Came back in 2018 and what a difference. Was taken over by Calam Properties. Had cable before but no cable now. Internet is so slow as to be nonexistent. Relocated some of the amenities we enjoyed before to a neighboring property they own (Pool tables, shuffle board). The roads are narrow so it is difficult backing in if you have a larger rig. Actually "difficult " is an understatement. The customer service is what you would expect from a corporation for example, I went to the golf driving range twice in two weeks to hit golf balls only to find out they had closed an hour early. The second time I asked to talk to the manager. I was told he was not there. This was at 3:00 pm on a Tuesday. There was no attempt on anyone's part to explain why they shut down early. While it is clean this is more due to the people staying here then to the CalAm company. I cannot in all good conscience recommend this park. I for one will not be staying here in the future. There are a lot of parks here and we can do better. We camped at Sands RV and Golf Resort (55+ Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the best motorhome parks I've stayed at. Beautiful property only a few miles from Palm Springs and Joshua Tree NP. Nice pool area and Golf course. Extremely clean and quiet. Spaces separated by fences or bushes. Level concrete and stone pads. Every Wednesday evening social hour. Will definitely stay at this park for our next Palm Springs trip. This park has NO wifi. Poor excuses about electrical failure. All other parks around have wifi. Will NOT accept credit cards nor cash. Here every season since 2009. Used to be awesome. CalAm is making us go else where next season. Many of our friends have moved on. Lots of amenities. You need to buy Time Warner for internet. We camped at Sands RV and Golf Resort (55+ Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Level but small site, barely large enough for RV. Very bureaucratic typical of large company. Staff tried to be helpful, but started disconnecting toad at bad place although asked not to, and wasn't facile with back in guidance. Won't stay here again, mostly due to site too small. Our first time here, top notch all the way. Tall vegetation between sites. All with concrete pad. Clean paved streets lined with Palm Trees, many with lights. This is the most dog friendly park and most friendly campers too.

They have live music and free beer and wine on Wednesdays next to the pool. Who does that nowadays????????.

There is also a nice 9 hole golf course on premise.

The dog parks have lawns and palm trees. We camped at Sands RV and Golf Resort (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Great place to stay, exceeded our expectations. We spent a few days here on our way home, wished we could have stayed longer. RV sites are together between two streets (backins), primarily a park model facility. Site was good-size, with tall oleander bushes between sites adding to privacy. Sites were staggered slightly, with sites on one street half-way between the sites behind, also adding to the feeling of privacy. Roads are paved, level gravel sites with concrete patio. Fantastic fenced dog parks, everything neat and clean. Quite and peaceful oasis. It is winder in Desert Hot Springs than on the other side of the freeway. We will return. Friendly check in, escorted to site which was wide and long enough for our 39 ft rig. Streets are not wide enough for the 90 degree back in sites, so getting in was not too easy, but can be done. Sites are screened by foliage in between, with concrete patio and vehicle parking pads and gravel for the RV. Mostly open sky for sat dish. Quiet, with beautiful views of the mountains and right next to a golf course, we enjoyed our stay. We camped at Sands RV and Golf Resort (55+ Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Lots to see and do in the area. Joshua Tree National Park is well worth the drive to see unusual rock formations and distinctive Joshua trees. Hiking and rock climbing is available in many areas of the park.

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. You can't play tennis every morning since the one court is switched between pickleball and tennis every other day (but courteous sharing builds character). The sites are wide and private with hedges between. The roads are paved and wide. A host guided us to our site and assisted and with backing in. There are three grassy off-leash dog areas that are well maintained as well as several wide sandy washes for dog walking. Free wifi was fast. The pool and two spas looked clean and inviting. There is a well equipped fitness room and many available activities. The residents, a combination of full-timers, snowbirds and transients, were friendly and the park was quiet. There was not only an impressive array of amenities and facilities, but also every thing was well maintained and operational. A park must be adjacent to a lake or ocean to receive a 10 rating from me, but this one would have deserved it but for this one absent amenity. Would definitely stay again. Extremely tight back-in spots. Streets too narrow. Very, clean with a great golf course (didn't play). We didn't use any facilities but it was quiet and clean. However, this park convinced us never to use a "park model" park again. Will find a typical RV slot park from now on. We camped at Sands RV and Golf Resort (55+ Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is located near the windmills so it is quite windy at times. It is not located where you can easily bicycle in the area as it is not real safe. The park does close the gate during non golf course hours. The golf course is very nice but run very poorly and the folks that work there don't care at all. The facilities are nice, but they don't allow food or beverages in the TV room or the card and pool rooms. The one tennis court is used for pickleball on every other day so you can't play in the morning unless it is the correct day. The office staff shows a very indifferent attitude. We stayed for two months, went to the office for our mail as they did not give us a mailbox and after two months they still did not know who we were. The other guest were very friendly and the sites are quite adequate. We camped at Sands RV and Golf Resort (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

This is a great park with friendly staff and many friendly snowbirds. It was not close to full. They have a great 9 hole golf course. They have a great pool and spa area with a large pool and two large spa's. Laundry worked well. Sites were very roomy and had some privacy with tall hedges between sites. For the dogs, they have three large grass dog runs! The resort is well managed, clean and has security gates for after 5 pm.

I would definitely recommend this park. It is close to town so it your fit you can walk or bike easily. We camped at Sands RV and Golf Resort (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The only aspect of this park that kept me from rating it as 10 is that it is located on the north side of the Palm Springs area where the winds are sometimes brutal. If one could be sure that there would be no wind storms it would be a place to spend the entire winter. Maybe we're just wusses. Apart from the wind issue, this is an excellent RV park and good for overnight or long term. The pool and spa/hot tub are both good as are the showers. We were there at the end of the snowbird season and invited to the wind-up dance. Great fun. We camped at Sands RV and Golf Resort (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Rate based on monthly rate plus electricity. We asked for Internet when making the reservation, were told it works fine at all sites. Not so. It's Tengo and in our site it didn't work at all. We had to walk to the pool area. Sites are spacious, but with the set up of the hookups in the middle, there is lost space. Hedges between the sites for privacy. Sites not too level, need to fill up gravel. Well maintained, nice pool and spa area. Only 2 showers for the ladies, dated but clean. The guide to our site was very friendly, the receptionists gave us more the feeling of a doctors office. Nice 9 hole golf course.
