Nice grassy park. Small and a bit older but everything still works. Nice folks own the place and live on site. Convenient to Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge. We camped at Butte Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stayed for a week. This is an older park but is a jewel. We camped on grass. Space was level and we had satellite access at our site. The owners are great people and very helpful. We enjoy the trains, but, there was one every 4-5 hours. There was more noise from the trucks coming down the hill. The evenings are quiet with a great view of the stars at night. The town of Doris is small but Klamath falls is only 18 miles away. I would give it a 10 if it had 50 amps. Will definitely stay here again. As full time rv'ers this is one of our favorite parks. We camped at Butte Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town has a grocery store and 3 resturants. We went to Wal-Mart in Klamath falls for groceries. Good roads down to Susanville and Reno. The Google map is misleading. The dry area you see is the dog walk area.

Overall Rating:

Easy access off Hwy 97, but it is right next to train tracks. Train seems to come through every 1-2 hours and blows the horn. Facility was clean, but very old. Nice large area to walk dogs. Level dirt space for trailer, so I would not want to camp during the winter since it would be quite muddy. Good stop for overnight stay. Cash only, no discounts accepted. We camped at Butte Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nothing to do in Doris, but it is a nice quiet town if you want to go for a walk.

This is a small park and very pleasant especially for over-nighters. The hosts are very kind and hospitable. Train does run behind the park, but it was not awful. Should we pass this way again, we will certainly stay here. Thanks again to the hosts for their kindness and concerns. We camped at Butte Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed for six nights when volunteering with the US Forest Service. City of Dorris is located near the California-Oregon border on Highway 97 and is an alternative to Klamath Falls or Weed. I used the laundry facilities, one dollar per wash, clean machines, did not use the bathrooms but did look to see that they were old but clean. The six or seven long terms were separated from the overnights by the bath/laundry facilities. All the permanent units were very clean. Owner on site, also a manager. Both water and keep the grass green and mowed. Park very clean. Downside is closest eating places are 20 miles north. I would certainly stay here again. We camped at Butte Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
