We have stayed here a few times and this is a great place for a family. They have added many fun things including a bounce pillow. We will definitely come here every year. There are many different types of sites including some close to the Russian River. They rent kayaks and paddle boards to enjoy the river. They have lots of kid activities. You are also only about 15 minutes to beaches on the ocean. Very fun place to spend a week. We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is hard to get to but worth the effort. We had a great site with loads of space with easy but great walks to the Russian River. Lots of secluded sites if you prefer and you can have a fire in the pits provided for that! Lots of activities for the kids, young and old and wonderful dog parks. We'd definitely stay here again, it is a MUST stop park.

DO NOT follow GPS to this site! Go North of Santa Rosa and follow the brown signs to The Russian River Recreational Area, River Road through Fulton...GPS is a no-no, you've been warned and we should know! We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We love this place, staff are friendly, the location by the river is great. The sites are well maintained and clean. Theres a really nice duck pond at the entrance, it was fun to sit and watch the ducks and geese. Cellphone data coverage was non-existent unless you stood by the side of the river ! We will be staying there again. We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was our 2nd stay during Memorial Day weekend and as you can probably tell from almost all of the other posts, this is a FAMILY campground. Yes, there are kids, dogs, adults, you name it. There was actually a pig in a rig close to us (it was quiet). Although our kids are in college, we were joined with two other families with little ones (2 - 7). So as long as you know what to expect, you will be fine. We stayed waterfront and had a great view of the river. The showers next to us where clean and unlike the other posts, I had HOT water within the 1st minute. The bathrooms were always being cleaned. The staff was over the top friendly, and there was never a shortage of things to do around there. It is definitely a little pricier than most resorts, but you know what they say.... Location Location Location. Plus you really do get a lot for your stay. I gave this a 3 star for value only because it was pricier than most places, but if there was a Quality rating for the price, it would get a 5 star. If you are a family or like to be around families that are friendly and want to have a great time together, this is the place for you. If you prefer a quiet retreat, stay away or go off season because this place is not for you. We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Only 2 complaints. 1. The shower was completely cold even after spending 4 quarters for 6 minutes. 2. The dump station had some kind of weird sideways opening and was difficult to do a clean dump. Otherwise the campground was absolutely beautiful and quiet. Our site was supposedly "waterfront" but it was sort of around the corner from actually being on the waterfront. The place was practically deserted while we were there, but we couldn't extend our stay over the Memorial Day weekend because they were totally booked. We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Korbel Winery is nearby. We took a great tour and did a champagne tasting all for free. Had the weather been better we would have loved to rent a kayak or just float around in our tubes in the river.

Overall Rating:

Casini Ranch is a huge campground on the west end of the Russian River. The name "Family Campground" is purposeful. They mean FAMILY. Mom, pop, 10 kids. There are loads of activities for the kiddies. Panning for gold, hay rides, movies, ice cream socials, donkey petting (Donkey petting?). Nearly everyone here on a warm weekend in May were families with kids. Lots, and lots, and lots of kids. Kids screaming. Kids crying. Kids riding their bikes right through our site. Dogs chasing balls under our rig. Music playing everywhere. If you're into that kind of thing, you'll be in heaven. However, if you're not, you're driving through the gates of heck. This was a noisy, crowded, boisterous place. We paid $72/night for a patch of mowed weeds that didn't have sewer and we couldn't get level on, and got to listen to screaming kids from 7 am to 11 pm. We were glad to find a place to camp (we were visiting family and everything else was booked up), but this really, really isn't our kind of place. We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have kids, you'll probably stay at the campground. It has everything kid related you'll ever want. If you don't have kids, there's the usual Russian River stuff. Playing on the river, food, wineries, etc.

Stayed in a riverfront site. Water, electric, and cable but no sewer. Spot was large and clean with picnic table and fire ring. Staff could not be nicer. Place is always full so book in advance. A little pricy. Extra charges for everything. We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I read reviews on this place and as far as I'm concerned they are overrated. Neighboring lots are nearby and have sunny/open exposures. Site surface is dirt and features a fire ring.

We have stayed at much nicer places with way friendlier people! We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Motorhome.

The check-in was simple and quick. The camp store is very complete and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The sites were level, clean, and hookups were easy to get to.

My only complaint are the burrs...those little round prickly things...they got into the toes of my dog...to the point of a visit to the vet when we got home...infection and had to be on antibiotics! Next time he is going to wear booties...warning for other dog owners!

I would highly recommend Casini...location is great for visiting other small towns! We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a great campground - close to the Pacific Coast, and nestled in the Russian River Valley. Sonoma wine country nearby (Korbel is just down the road). Redwood forests (some on the property). There is a seal colony at the coast.

The park offers a store, kids activities, farm animals, hayrides, lots of water activities (1 mile of riverfront), and organized activities.

Updates are taking place - like new ADA bathrooms (very nice), rental RVs, and electrical upgrades.

The big charm of this park is the historical aspect. In the Casini family for over 100 years, with a historical barn still on site, it has a an old west, great family friendly feel.

If you want to stay up late partying, and making noise - this IS NOT the park for you. It is very family focused - and they enforce their quiet hours for the enjoyment of their guests.

Bottom line - there are lots of ways to stay entertained here. We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The tent sites on the east side are in a beautiful, quiet, tree lined area. If you don't have an RV - you can rent one. Rent canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards if you don't have your own.

Check out Guerneville, Bodega Bay, Korbel winery, Armstrong Woods State Park. Make sure you stop at the Taco Truck in Guerneville (by the Safeway) - really good food!

Great location along the Russian river. Fun family atmosphere with plenty to do during the day. All roads and campsites are dirt or gravel so prepare to be dusty. The connections for our site (site #25) were on the opposite side of where they should be, so we needed to pull in to our "back-in" site. No sewer connection, so needed to use dump station. Easy walk to river beach access. Only 15 minutes from Hwy 1 and ocean access. Definitely plan to come here again. We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful park. Wide spaces and lovely views. Only 2 spots right on the river for RVs. We had PA discount, but thought the full price of $ 63 was high, and charging for showers (meters) was unnecessary. We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Motorhome.

This was not our first trip to Casini Ranch. You cannot beat the location, it is on a working ranch between the Russian River and pastures of cows, horses and other livestock. You feel like you are on a ranch when you are here. They have over 200 sites but the sites are not right next to each other, some sites are very private. They have 40+ channels of TV, very good wifi, a store on the property and a laundry facility. The staff we interacted with were very friendly.
We have been to several RV parks from Fairbanks Alaska to Northern California. Casini Ranch is a jewel, we have only seen 2 other parks that can offer the same ambience and they are much smaller and not located in such an optimal location. If that were not enough the activities provided at the park really make it exceptional, the Hay Ride and the bon Fire on the beach are both events not to miss. We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Hiking nearby at the Willow Creek Extension of the Sonoma Coast State Park System, Walking distance down freezeout road. Armstrong Redwoods is also a great hike, you have to drive to get there but it is 15 minutes away. Also the pomo canyon and Redhill trails from Shell beach make great hikes.

Overall Rating:

We booked a stay for one night at Casini Ranch Family Campground. The appeal of this campground is the beauty of the surrounding area--the Russian River with its various activities, the solitude not found in less rural settings, and the quaintness of nearby towns Jenner and Monte Rio.

Check-in went smoothly albeit somewhat slowly. When we did make it to our camp spot, service personnel were working feverishly to restore electricity to the campground that had apparently been out for some time after the Labor Day holiday. Within 30 minutes of our arrival, the electrical issue was solved.

The premium full hookup sites are long enough for most motorhomes and trailers, but the width could be improved. With three slide-outs, our 5th wheel leveling legs were partially on gravel and partially on the cement pad. A nice fire pit accompanies each campsite. We did not use the cable television hookup, opting for satellite dish use. The campground's wi-fi, while a bit slow, is free for one day's use; after that you'll have to pay. Verizon cell signal is very good. Also, as others have noted this campground can be quite dusty.

Casini Ranch Campground is probably much better for a multiple day stay since getting to it off Highway 101 is definitely off the beaten path. The River Road route to the campground is scenic as is the occasional glimpses of the Russian River. This campground might be worth another visit if we plan on staying more than one day. We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
