Staff was helpful, as size of site on internet was not reflective of area to pull into (driveway capability was larger than described). Long drive into campground, gives country feel even as close to the freeway as the park is. Called Lake Jennings, but lake is not easily accessible and as a drinking water reservoir, is unavailable to swim in. - Uncle Joseph

I live in my RV and I stayed here for a month and the daily price is based on the monthly rate. The Wifi is above average but better than most places I've stayed. The laundry is so-so but otherwise, this place is a great deal and I will stay here again. - Anctmariner17
Feb 2016 - $42.00
The park has nice trails. There are only two that the dogs can go on. It was a bit expensive for what it was. The sites have nice foliage around them but i still felt close to people. My DH thought they were good sized spaces. You hear a lot of noise from nearby campsites. - Two_Huschels

The park itself is huge and really gorgeous. Trees and lakes everywhere. There is a lot to do, such as kayaking and fishing. The site itself is a little sparse, just dirt and a picnic table. For the price we paid, we thought there might be a patio pad or maybe a little grass. It was raked, clean and fairly level, though, and it is not a far walk to grassy areas and the lakes. The site was very generous in width, a lot of space around the rv slides. Easy to park and level the rv. The park is nice and quiet at night and there are not a lot of glaring park lights everywhere. But during the day, there are a lot of noisy children on bikes, skateboards, etc., so if you are looking for a bit of quiet serenity, this is not the campground for you. A code is required to enter the bathrooms/showers. They are plain but clean. Nothing special. I liked the security. You have to pass through security gates with a code to enter the park and that's quite nice. - Linda dlm

I stayed in the Williow Creek loop and it was very noisy with kids yelling and playing, dogs barking (I have a dog) and adults using outdoor voices late into the evening. It is a family oriented park. - Michael_T

We reserved our spot ahead 6 months & received a monthly rate of $30/night. At the end of the month SDG&E calculates your electric bill. Even though we were gone for about 10 days during the month of December, we ended up with an electric bill of over $100 for that month. What a shock that was. The office staff was patient when I asked them to verify the amount. Although Santee Lakes is a convenient location for us, the expensive electric bill is a deal breaker for us. We will look elsewhere for our monthly visits. I agree with the comment about the showers...no private place to change or dress, shower heads are placed @ an awkward angle & the one time I went for a shower there was no hot water. The grounds around the lakes are beautiful but the campground itself feels like it is deteriorating. - RVtripper

We stayed for one month. There's a monthly rate that is very reasonable. The resort is very quiet, clean and the staff is extremely friendly. There are long term residents but the resort makes sure that the rigs and those sides are up to snuff. - henny04
Jan 2018 - $40.00
We enjoyed our stay, the grounds are a little on the tight side but doable. It is clean and quite, the staff is very helpful and friendly. It is just a cool setting, and nice people. The laundry room is really big with multiple washers and dryers and super clean. We will stay here again when in San Diego County for sure. - Gregg_and_Tracy

Efficient check-in. All sites are back-in, some narrow. Amazingly quit at night, despite nearby roads and freeway. Wi-Fi was good. Large very clean pool, unfortunately no shade. Restrooms are old, but clean. We didn't connect to cable. The daily rate of $65 is exclusive breakfast. Yes ladies and gentlemen, these kind of prices are for hotel rooms, not for RV parks. Due to this high price, we won't come back. - Bluesbirdy

The whole place is run down. The dog facility is terrible! The staff, depending on who is there, range from downright hostile to disinterested. It appeared that more than 50% are full timers - which is fine but not a very resort type of feeling. The pool was always full of children. - Makaira
May 2013 - $38.00
We camped here Memorial Weekend. It was full and very busy. Unfortunately, still a little cold for our kids with small kids who also came in a tent. Came for some fishing for the little kids, but no luck off shore. Lots of trees and shade, would have welcomed a little sun. Pit toilets/water nearby, a short walk to the showers/flush toilets. Some trails to walk--next time! Didn't see any rangers coming through camp, but didn't see any issues with all the people here either. Visited the park's Pokanoka’s Café for fish dinner. Was OK. Nice boat rental and store and dock area. Might bring our canoe next time, and bikes. - Utah RVer
Apr 2013 - $30.00
We stayed here to check out the San Diego area and the Taylor Guitar factory. The lots are level but small. It took us a while to back our 40' motorhome in a site and the nice woman in the office said this was one of their biggest. The utilities worked well and the pool looked nice. There is a lot of road noise from the Interstate and main road. The turns are a little tight and people parking their cars partly in the road makes it tricky to get around. The wi-fi is additional but they do give you 4 hours free. We would probably not stay here again. - dandg

Pros- Cheap. Cons- completely ant infested, can't have a conversation outside because the bordering freeway is too loud (also can barely sleep over the sound of the freeway all night), clubhouse has BUGS and RATS, internet only works in clubhouse, cramped parking spots (no visitor parking). Power was out for a week and the RV park said it was not their responsibility to do anything about it, but wait for the power company to do something. There is no air conditioning and temperatures are 110 degrees plus. The management refuses to take responsibility. We had to pay to stay elsewhere because of the heat dangers and manager just said that "it was not his problem." They refused to reimburse us even though it's completely dysfunctional. I am surprised that place has not been shut down. Could NOT pay me to stay there again. - KatsRVLife
Jun 2014 - $55.00
Way over priced! Mostly full timers with the usual accumulation of stuff. Web site looks good but prepare to be disappointed. Tight spaces and roads. Close to freeway with traffic noise. WIFI requires sign in every 4 hours with a new code. We were in an unlevel gravel pull thru site with no cable TV (cable was mangled and unusable). Only one water spigot and we had to disconnect the full timer using it so we could use it. We were told to back out of our pull through site and go the wrong way on a one way street when leaving because the marked exit had tight turns. Check-in clerk was new and didn't advise us of WIFI procedures and seemed unsure about our assigned site (entry and exit). We will not stay here again unless it is a last resort. - fun4doc
May 2014 - $30.00
LOTS of full time residents. Streets are so tight that I was told to back our 40' motorhome out of my pull-through and go out a one way street the wrong way. Good AT&T signal, good water pressure, good power. Lots of dogs and cats running around off leash. Lots of police presence while I was there. The manager could not have been nicer to deal with. - walt66

A true treasure in the San Diego area. Wide and well layout spaces, both back-in and pull-thru with a combination of gravel and concrete. Ample laundry facilities, nice pool and attached hot tub. Price reflects the San Diego market and while more pricey than our norm, it represents a good value. They also honor Passport America on weekdays from April to October and will allow you to arrive on the weekend at the higher rate and let you change the rate on weekdays. Very nice. - Dunwoodyradio
Mar 2018 - $60.00
We stayed in site 97. A deluxe back in site. Park is clean and easy to navigate. Sites are fairly close together, but we have seen worse. Cabel tv requires a small cable box (free). Internet was good. Appears to be many full timers, but not a problem for us. - R&M
May 2017 - $30.00
park roads are paved and wide enough to navigate without issue. Sites are small, all sites are concrete pads, Site was level. Pool is heated. There are a lot of semi-permanent residents living in fifth wheels. All residents are very quite and friendly. Rv park is neat, clean, and well maintained. We camped for a month in a 40 foot MH. Rate we paid is based on monthly cost. - Lama79

Just a gem of a county park. Clean and well maintained. The site was easy to back into with the RV. Too bad it rained heavily for 2 of the 6 days we were there. Still it was sheltered and quiet. We would go back again if we were in the area. - Shacky

Nice Park in Ramona. Great for quick trip out of San Diego. Small town of Ramona has everything you need just a few miles away. The campground has lots of trees and some hiking trails. - Californication
Nov 2013 - $29.00
We stay in this park every year for the Thanksgiving weekend, and love it every time. We reserve early, so we get the site we like, which is more private than some of the other sites, which would work good for a group. The campground rangers (yes, they are rangers, not hosts) put on great programs for the kids, including night walks, bouncy ball games, and various crafts, as well as evening slide presentations; reminds me of the old days of camping when I was a kid!! The facilities are always spotless, the people friendly, and the location of the park is ideal for trips to the mountains, or down to San Diego to visit the waterfront or the zoo. And, don't miss the cinnamon rolls at the Ramona Cafe, down in town. - Campfamily123

Excellent staff, helpful, courteous, professional. Clean pool. Gravel or concrete parking pad, almost level. The parking spots are 'bare bones' and are very tightly fitted in giving not much privacy, surprisingly not too noisy either, considering the light rail track is on one side and a highway is on the other. BUT they are close to a trolley station to get you into town, or to the zoo specifically. - Eliz Plam
Jul 2017 - $80.00
We stayed here over the weeekend as other parks were full. The park is clean, pool area is really cool, TV room was nice and clean and recently updated. Bathrooms are dated but clean. Two issues that i had that you may or may not. 1. The neighbor is a long timer, with a lot of junk outside of their unit. Their dog barked all day long when they were out of their unit. I talked with the management, and they said they would handle it. Nothing happened... 2. We had an ANT INVASION at our spot. There were thousands of ants on the ground of our site. By the morning of day 2, we had hundreds of ants INside of the motorhome. The neighbor on the other side gave me ant spray to put in and out of the motorhome (an indication of the massive infestation they have here.) The management didn't seem to care about the issue. Bring ant spray with you and spray around all of your tires, jacks, hoses, etc when you pull in. We beat it out of here quickly. - Rolling Mortgage Broker
Jul 2017 - $109.00
For the nightly rate, even just a picnic set or table would be a welcome addition. Kind of shocking that there was NOTHING on the concrete patio. The site was quite small and not level. Interior roads and gates are VERY tight. Nicely landscaped with mature palms and other trees and shrubs. - pnation53

Nov 2017 - $35.00
Pricey for a military facility, but still a reasonable value for its location if you get the military rate. Superb customer service. An earlier reviewer complained about the "broken" English of the staff. They do speak with foreign accents, but their English is fluent, not "broken," and it's sad that someone would confuse those two things in this day and age. The sites are very close together and the pads quite short, which is the main detractor at this park. I barely got all my wheels onto the pad with a 28 foot rig. That being said, it was absolutely level. There is a huge parking lot nearby for tow cars if you can't fit yours on your site. The park and surrounding grounds are lovely - lots and lots of green space and picnic areas, which makes up a little for the very tight sites. There is a golf course adjacent to the RV park, but there is no way to get there walking - you must drive a car. It isn't that far at all, but they won't let you walk along the golf path (gates are all locked), and the road that goes around to the front of the golf course is marked with threatening signs saying not to walk or ride bikes on it. I was informed they will cite people for walking on that road. Rate includes cable tv with lots of channels and free wifi. The wifi is reasonable, not great, but you have to sign up with a credit card (no charge, just for identification), and you can only be signed in with one device at a time. Verizon service is good. Not a great location for bike riding - you have to go a mile or so on a road with a bike lane but scary fast traffic to get to anyplace nice to bike. - KAP99
Jul 2017 - $47.00
Stayed 2 nights. Not your usual RV park. Military facility but the office staff were foreigners with broken English. Asked unusual questions like proof of insurance on RV & Car. No discounts for Vietnam vets. Only active or retired. Yet it is open to the public. Our reserved site was occupied as we arrived but was cleared up within a short wait. Utility box was full of spiders & cobwebs. Level concrete slab for our small trailer. Things were okay after settling in. Overall, a good home location base for urban San Diego. Very busy during the summer. I would come here again but be more prepared for the next encounter. - zzzya
Jan 2016 - $30.00
This is a great location if you want to be in the middle of San Diego. The concrete pads are a little small and you may find the front and/or back of your unit will hang off the end of the pad. The complex is well staffed, but sadly they are not customer service orientated. They seen to see their role as supervision rather than service. Once or twice a week, they will come around handing out notices reminding people to pick up after their pet, keep areas neat, etc. They just go from unit to unit handing out the notices to everyone. A minor annoyance. A great place in San Diego to spend a few weeks in January or February. - CO Traveler

I was in #17 and stayed for a week, price is weekly rate. Back in, with room for the car. A very nice gravel/dirt spot. Excellent services. The park is very convenient to San Diego's many attractions after a 15-30 minute drive. Did my driving after or before rush hours. Best thing is that the parks nightly price is much better then nearly all the RV parks in the area. Although not mentioned on their web site, this park has high speed Wifi. Unfortunately, it drops out suddenly and completely several times per day. I found that the cell phone internet connection also dropped out at the same times when I tried to tether to it so it's not the parks fault but the ISP's. A great feature of the parks web site is the reservation system that shows available spaces you can choose for your visit. I was in the loop where there are lots of trees, the other loops are more open. Park is very quiet, attractive, good WES. There are horses there occasionally. - User35
Mar 2018 - $30.00
Large sites, huge separation, seems like everyone has a view over a valley of highways. Only half kidding. Great county park. Seems like all San Diego "regional" parks are great. A bit far from anything but still only about a half hour from the beaches. Worth it. - Odyssey
Mar 2018 - $33.00
Long paved sites, concrete pads with asphalt aproaches. Great view of the Sweetwater valley down to the Ocean from the site. Lots of tall vegetation between sites for privacy. Helpful staff work hard to maintain an excellant park. - midnightpumpkin
