Lots of families with children - which wasn't a negative for us even though we don't have children. The swimming pool was clean. We only had electric and water hook ups - no sewer for us - though about half the campgrounds have full hook ups. There is a dump station, but no spray hose to clean your sewer line after dumping - I assume due to the drought. A well stocked store is within the campground. Tent camping is available throughout the park. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

DO NOT TAKE HIGHWAY 9 FROM SANTA CRUZ - IT'S TOO WINDY! Use the "Mount Herman" exit from Highway 17 to get to Felton.

The campground is next to Henry Cowell State Park with a giant redwood grove and visitor's center within a 15-minute walk. Santa Cruz and Capitola are a 15-minute drive away.

This was an easy drive from the Central Valley.

We love the Felton area, because the beautiful redwoods are breathtaking! We stayed here in a 36 ' 5th wheel. We were supposed to get a full hook up site, and when showed up, it didn't have sewer. That being said, to get to the dump station we had to pull the trailer all around park to get it to the right direction, tight for a big rig. The showers are small, outdated and like "military" showers. You have to press a button, to turn water on, and keep pressing button throughout your shower, to keep wet. Was difficult for my elderly mother in law. They have a great, large pool. Basketball, pool table, fuseball, air hockey and ping pong. GREAT for teens. When we checked in, they wanted everyone to wear "wristbands" to identify that we belong to their campground. Apparently they have people come to use their amenities from other campgrounds. Sites are close in some areas, if you don't get one of the nicer spots. We got a GREAT spot, nestled away from everyone, in between the Redwoods. We checked out the other two parks next to this one, like this one the best.

Don't leave food out, there is wild life. We had a big raccoon come to our site, and wasn't afraid of people, and it was hungry. We would definitely stay here again, but the camp is very pricey. It allowed 7x7 tent on site with trailer. We paid $70/night (with person capacity and dogs), and that is kind of high for no sewer. NO internet SERVICE in this area at all, you need Onstar to make a phone call, and wifi is bad. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Have stayed here during the summer as well as in the winter. VERY crowded in the summer, with RV's stacked in like a busy parking lot. Winter just the opposite, maybe 10 RV's in the entire place. Nice pool, hiking trails and easy drive to the beach so good for kids. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Motorhome.

I cannot believe that Good Sam visited this place. We were here in April: used the showers, which were old, with peeling old paint and cold water. They did not turn on the hot water, etc. The RV spaces were horrible, not level, not clean, very dirty, had left over food on the ground, dog feces all over the place. Office people were not friendly at all.

I have told numerous people about this place.

I hope maybe someday Good Sam will visit it, as a camper, and not with a big sign saying you are inspectors. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed in space 23 where the spaces are very close together. I would not recommend spaces 14-28. No at&t service, no wi-fi at our campsite. We have stayed before in space 38 which is much nicer. I would choose 30-43 if you have a choice. Our son and his family stayed in cabin 29 which was very nice. They had wi-fi at the cabin. Campground is kept very clean. They will deliver firewood. Nice little playground for kids. Lots of people in pool. We would stay again if we got the site we wanted. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here many times. It is a nice park. Close to Felton & hiking. Right on the San Lorenzo River. Some of the spots close to the little creek need fill dirt added. We had to do a lot leveling. There are a lot of trees which makes it nice & cool. They have a picnic table on a deck overlooking the little creek which was very nice. Out site was a little tight since there were trees we had to work around. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is the state park for hiking. Train rides taking you into the forest or to Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is about 15 miles from Felton. Felton is a small town with a Safeway store real close.

It's beautiful, clean, and the sites are really nice. This was our first time here and have already made reservations to return next year for a longer period. After chatting with the Office Manager, she gave me some great information about the area and was really nice. It's a really great place for kids that's for sure. The trails are endless, the pool is awesome, and the play area is great for the younger ones, too. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Motorhome.

Do not come in from the south on Hwy-9, as it is very winding and narrow. Our site was a full hookup, back-in, level, with picnic table and fire pit. Pool was heated and clean. Wi-Fi only worked at the office. Many cable TV channels. Family orientated, with Roaring Camp Railroad just a short hike away. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here many times. The staff is wonderful. We had a problem with a slide out and they came to our rescue. We were late checking out because of this problem and they didn't charge us extra; told us not to worry about being late. Stores and restaurants are close. We needed directions and they went on the internet to get them for us. It is real clean and a great place to stay. My granddaughter loved the pool and taking the trails down to the river. We have reservations for next year. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Motorhome.

This campground is in the beautiful Redwoods. The staff is very friendly, the sites are groomed and level, and all the utilities worked great. However, I was disappointed that, while the bathrooms were clean, there were no soap dispensers or paper towels to wash your hands (the restroom across the office only had paper towels). Also, I was unable to find any large trash bins to put garbage in, only small trash cans you'd find at your home. Location is great and close to Roaring Camp trains and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed in other campgrounds in the area and find that this is the nicest so far. The staff is friendly, the pool is clean and warm and everything works. There are some things that we wish were better. There is no laundry, so you have to drive to town to do a load of clothes. Spaces are clean and well maintained, however, they are very tight. Wi-Fi is good and so is the selection of cable TV channels. The roads in the park are narrow, so you have to go very slow. given the location and the other parks around it, this is a nice place, pricey, but near Santa Cruz. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Motorhome.

We had a very nice camping experience at Cotillion RV Park. The helpful staff was pretty much there for all of our needs. The park is very clean, restrooms, showers and all. As others have mentioned the sites with full hookups are pretty close to each other and backing in can take some time. (The staff has great pointers for backing into the tight spots). The scenery was exceptional, tons of tall redwood and a running creek go through the park. There are several nice hiking trails. We lucked out an got 2 last min cancellation sites the weekend of the big Halloween Event at the park. There is is a nice size pool, but it was closed for the season. Overall, for all the amenities, you could not find a better place in the redwoods and so close to Santa Cruz. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Summer rate reflects cash or check charge. Can't imagine what it'd be if using credit card. Packed in here like the proverbial sardines. Tall redwood trees are breathtaking but they utilize every bit of space in this park. It says pull-through sites, but I didn't see any and can't imagine a rig bigger than 32 foot getting in here very easily. The smaller rigs seem to manage "somehow." It was entertaining to watch them try to back into the tight spaces. Their slides are just about touching the picnic tables and it is extremely tight trying to maneuver around all the vehicles tucked snugly up against their trailers. Although clean, the bathrooms are dinky and old. We preferred our cramped RV shower over using these outdated showers. This place is 6 miles from the Boardwalk. If you don't have a vehicle then you have few options to get to the beach. To get Enterprise to bring you a vehicle the six miles to the park their most economical rental rates were $69/day+++. A cab ride would run you $45/each way. The Roaring Camp Railroad Depot is in the State park next door and about a 40 minute hike. The round trip beach train ride runs adults $26 each. So, for a family of 3 that's $76 to catch the train to spend about 4 hours at the beach. I wish I had read more current (and honest) reviews that clearly stated just how packed in here everyone was. The staff is very accommodating, and the pool is very nice, but I will not return here due to the overcrowded conditions and the old bathrooms. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Motorhome.

The sites are narrow, your awning will be inches away if not touching the neighboring RV. Luckily our site is located where there was not a site next to us, but no sewer connection. The restrooms are clean, no laundry facilities. The pool is large and warm. Campfires are allowed at your site. Exiting the park can be difficult if more than one RV wants to dump. A line of RV develops with no room to squeeze by. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
