24 Parks near Folsom, California
Dec 2014 - $46.00
Very nice, clean park. CG Hosts very pleasant along with the Ranger. American River bike trail runs through the park so easy access if you are biking. Fantastic VZ cell signal...should be since the transmitter is right in the park! - IslandGuy
Feb 2012 - $55.00
Nice Park. Located in-town, good place to stay for visiting local area. Also, traffic is a bit noisy due to locations. Biking is popular but fishing is very challenging despite regular stocking. Finally, campground still gets full in spite of the high fee. - RetUSAF
Dec 2011 - $46.00
Nice long term RV park. We stayed here so we can visit our kids during the holidays. Pricey but okay. It was clean and the camp hosts were okay. Park Ranger was very nice. Very quiet. Please note that they charge you $10 a day for any visitors who stay longer than 15 minutes. Wish they had told us that when you register or I would have gone somewhere else. - Bruceaz
May 2016 - $30.00
I was desperate for overnight parking as 4 other parks I called from Loomis to Sacramento were booked up. Placer County Fair Grounds made space for me as they were pretty booked as well. Most campsites were occupied by long term folks that were packed in like sardines. The camp host gave me a spot off to myself with electricity only which was a relief after seeing the sardine sites. I stayed by myself while my husband was on a trip and didn't feel comfortable there by myself. Ended up moving to our family's driveway the next day. Depending on what is going on at the fairgrounds could impact your visit. Some sort of races going on when I got there on a Saturday afternoon so it was loud...but was over by 7pm. Appreciated the camp hosts giving me a nice site but I just felt unsettled while there. - JeffDeb
May 2014 - $30.00
First Fairgrounds experience and it is a good one. Made last-minute search for a place near Sacramento over Memorial Weekend. Got a number to call the host. He hooked us up with full 50amp hookups in the shade with lots of room to ourselves. Probably 20 campers over several acres. It was quiet except for several events Sat night. We walked to the car races, which were fun to watch. It quieted down after 11, which was fine. We could have gone to sleep earlier if that was our desire, not too loud. We will definitely stay here next time we're in the area. - Seb
Jan 2012 - $30.00
Other recent reviews generally reflect our opinion/experience. The best I can say is that it was quiet and affordable. The campground host, was a big help getting us into a spot during a heavy rainstorm. We camped in one of the few spots by the "Beer Garden". There are lots of other sites in a nearby open field, but not recommended should there be rain in the forecast. - rncordy
Sep 2015 - $18.00
Scattered throughout this mobile home community are sites for rvers. Easy check in and found the site with no problem. There is a pool and 2 laundry rooms. Really a no frills spot to stay. Stayed for 2 nights to visit sister. Very friendly neighbors and felt safe to walk at night in the community. Would stay here again if in the area. Only problem was placement of hookups. Water on the wrong side and sewer was under motor home. - mdmnkcm
May 2015 - $18.00
Needed a one night stay close to some friends who live in the area. This place certainly fit the bill! They save a few spots for RV's to sit. Full hookups, but no wifi to use. Very clean park, and very friendly staff. Would stay here again! - laurly
Apr 2015 - $35.00
Well located, quiet mobile home park with some sites for rv's. Our back in site was long and level with a concrete patio and parking for our truck. All utilities worked well and we were able to get sat service, despite lots of trees. The residents were friendly and we enjoyed our time here. We will return when next in the area. - ronboett
Feb 2016 - $42.00
I know this place is suppose to be improving but it's a mess. Too many permanent RV's that haven't moved in years with trash scattered all over. The rules state 2 vehicles per site, the one across from me had 4. Way too many trees and all need trimming. I paid for a pull-through site but I had to back out because of the cars and trees in the way. The place is usable and that's about all I can say for it. - Dennis_K
Oct 2015 - $46.00
This is an old RV park with lots of what appears semi permanent residents, but no problems, tight spaces, but overall very pleased. First, not many RV Park choices this area, so we took a chance. It is very quiet despite being packed. No unrowdy behavior. Sure you can hear the occasional train, but so what? The laundry and sites are kept clean. Gravel site, tight but level. Good 50 Amp, water, etc. Convenient to the freeway I 80. They have made a lot of progress from way back. Filled most days we are here. Give them a try sometime, it's not a luxury place but they are doing their best. Good Sam discount only on separate days, they have a weekly discount rate. - Pat and Jerry
Sep 2014 - $35.00
We stayed here sight unseen based on the recommendation of friends who knew of the park, but are not RVers. It was a pleasant surprise. The park is old and dated, but very quiet (aside from occasional train) and shaded by mature trees. Our pull-through site was very large and even a rookie like me was able to pull in easily. The location is very convenient for the area. I estimate about 50% permanent residents. - Gopo
Oct 2012 - $15.00
This club is in an industrial part of town. After 5 pm the area closed up and had virtually no noise. Businesses open at 0700 with their accompanying noises. Paved lot with maneuvering room for big rigs. (I'm 43') Easy driving to restaurants and shopping. Normal Elks Lodge amenities. On site black water dump with odd rules about dumping. Ask in advance to see when you can or can't dump. - Bucky Beaver
Jul 2016 - $20.00
This daily rate is what it will work out to be when divided by 30 (so it may be just a bit more for the week). This is a minimum stay of 1 week RV park. Monthly rent is $545.00 which includes water, free mail forwarding service, electric (not extra), garbage, sewer and free GOOD WiFi. This park also has a laundry room and if you prefer to dry outside, there are 3 clothes lines to use for drying outside. Centrally located to everything. Walgreens, Tire store, Target, and various restaurants. - Denise M Smith
Dec 2015 - $17.00
My wife and I have spent the last six years here: from October to March. It is a great park. The manager runs a tight ship, but the same rules apply to everyone. You have a gravel suite for RV. Asphalt suite for the tow, and a concrete patio. I would have given it a 10, but for the spotty wifi. Owners don't want to invest the money. We still keep in touch with friends here.
(Lot spacing is spacious with some shade. Site surfaces are asphalt, gravel and grass and feature a patio.) - Guy Wassather
May 2015 - $17.00
Price reflects weekly (minimum stay) rate of $130- extra days were $27.50 each.
If you are self sufficient & have your own internet, this is a great park with large sites well set out with privacy from tree & gardens. Good value for nice setting. This is a mobile home park which is being converted to a RV Park - mostly RV's now. The park felt safe and has supermarkets and services nearby.
The down side is if you require internet, you need to go to the club house. The main restrooms appear to be shut down with just a single very dated shower/toilet (each) available which forms part of the clubhouse. Cleaning appears to be once a week.
We had no response to emails or telephone messages left requesting a reservation and had to keep ringing until we got through (Office hours 10-5 only). There is also quite a few sirens due to closeness to highway patrol.
We would stay here again. - Kiwigirl
Aug 2005 - $30.00
Nice park, great view of the mountain. Large spots. Easy access. - darthfadar
Jul 2016 - $50.00
For a KOA, I was disappointed. The sites were not manicured at all. In some cases, weeds were a foot tall. The unkempt blacktop streets had Bermuda grass growing in on the edges. This park would be ok in a pinch, but only for a limited stay.
When my reservation was made, I spoke with one gentleman. When we checked in, things were handled by another gentleman who was somewhat friendly. The man I spoke with for the reservation was there also, but when I spoke to him, there was no acknowledgment at all. - STYMIE2
Jul 2016 - $59.00
Park was ok asked for a different picnic table and it was replaced. Lots of burr clover at the site got on the dogs. - Jan and Ron Looney
Apr 2016 - $50.00
After reading previous reviews we were a little concerned about our stay but found none of the issues of previous reviews. We found it easily and staff was helpful & courteous. The location is very convenient. The spot was pretty level but a bit tight - because the sites are smaller those with trucks/cars often are parking in the road. Lots of trees but none seemed in the way. The wifi worked great. The pool & hot tub were not open yet. Lovely pond with ducks and geese - a horse farm nearby - very nice ambiance. - Catsinatrailer
Oct 2015 - $49.00
This RV park proves that a business is only as good as the person in the front office.
We've RV'd from Alaska to Texas and have not, thankfully, received anything near the ignorance and incompetence we encountered here.
My hubby booked ahead over the phone for three nights in this park. We got an email to give us a confirmation number, nothing more - no instructions or directions and certainly no lot/pad number. Arrived at 6:30 PM to discover the office locked. Looked around for any sign of communication for us. (Some sheet with our surname in large print was the least we should expect.) Nada! We phoned the number listed for the office. No response to our message. We picked an empty lot and got ourselves parked with some effort. Hooked up to the power, but no access to washrooms, pool, or WiFi due to no information provided. Went to bed thinking we'd done our best and hadn't disturbed anyone. Hubby walked over to the office just across from us at about 10 AM. He was 'greeted' by the manager who turned bad into worse. After a complete display of idiocy in front of others in the office, he ordered us out of the park "in ten minutes" and began to call the police. We happily took our leave. As yet, we have not had a return of the money. (as of October 26/15)
The owner of this property needs to be aware of this manager's conduct and that his employee stole two nights accommodation from his business when he ordered us out for no cause.
As a traveler, give this one a pass. It's not worth the aggravation to deal with someone like this.
We found this a very cramped park. It was difficult for us to move around inside the park pulling the trailer as lots were so full that vehicles were parked on the streets. Also a contortion to park. It is a very noisy location due to its proximity to the interstate. The entrance into the park is a tight turn and it is on a busy street. We did not get to see any of the facilities that we paid for nor did we get to test out the 'free WiFi' as we were not provided password/access codes. We could see the swimming pool near the entrance but could not make use of it. The lot we found was graveled and level and had a cement pad on one side. There were shade trees around the site. The park is not in the best of neighbourhoods but it is fenced and the park has some street lights. The park appears to be more of a manufactured home park than an RV park. - carliewired
Sep 2015 - $49.00
When we arrived in Sacramento we were sorely disappointed in the RV parks. Sac Shade is an older park, but newly managed. The owner is upgrading landscaping, pool, etc. which gives this park a huge plus from all other parks in the area. It's a snap to get onto I-80, shopping and shopping. The Internet connection (provided by the park) is an issue ~ very sporadic. - lvscoffee7
May 2015 - $49.00
The park is a nice older park. They are doing many upgrades, but beware it is I think, only good for motorhomes 25' or less. I think it would be tight to get even a 25 TT in. There is parking on both sides of the street and I had to take care with my 25' Class C. (no tow). That said it is a park with mostly full timers, friendly people. Park has good Verizon signal, cable with about 20+ stations, and reasonably good wifi. Good for an overnighter with a small motor home. If you tow disconnect at the office. The new management is making many improvements and it is a nice park for the right motorhome. There are many places to eat within a few miles and many stores in the area. - wtravlr1
Apr 2008 - $32.00
This is an older park, but it is being maintained adequately. The campground host was very helpful. There is some disparity between the name in TrailerLife directory and the campground's website versus the park signage you actually will see when you drive up. Either it is *becoming* "Sacramento Shade RV Park", or it *used to be* called that, but as of today's date (4/2008) it is "Oak Haven RV Park". Although the park is close by the highway, the park is actually pretty quiet. VERY convenient access to downtown Sacramento, Old Town, and Arden Mall. This park seems oriented more to full-time residents than transient RV'ers. - JimF
