First off, use Beals Point SRA Campground in Google maps and it will bring you right in. Sites are nice, lots of trees and trails. Lots of air tv. Bring your quarters for the shower. We stayed here in 25 foot motorhome. Lots of space between. We would stay here again when visiting in area. We camped at Folsom Lake SRA - Beals Point Campground in a Motorhome.

We were looking for a place to stay in the general area to visit family in Orangevale. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed on a Friday night in early September in our 25 foot MH. This is a nice urban CG right on Folsom Lake and very convenient to Orangevale and Folsom. The CG has 2 loops. One is set up for RVs and has water and electric. The sites appear to be spread out and relatively open. The other Loop is primitive and geared towards tents, although smaller RVs are ok for some sites. We stayed in the latter. We arrived at 5pm on a Friday and got the last site with a pad that fit our RV. The sites in the primitive section were pleasantly arrayed in clusters among trees, had a mix of sun and shade and most were good sized. The sites on the outside were slightly larger and more private. Most need a bit of leveling. There's no wifi. There was good ATT and Verizon coverage. We had a quiet stay. We camped at Folsom Lake SRA - Beals Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There's a network of bike trails near the CG that connect into city bike paths. There is swimming and boating in the lake. The historic Folsom Village is 4 miles away.

Clean, fairly well maintained. No Wi-Fi or TV but cell signal was good. No parking off the pavement. Wildlife in the area (I saw turkeys, lizards and rabbits). Ample shopping close to the area. Having another mode of transportation is a good idea. We camped at Folsom Lake SRA - Beals Point Campground in a Motorhome.

GPS might not be accurate. Beals Point is on the east side of Auburn-Folsom Rd between Eureka Road and Greenback Ln. Google to Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, Beals Point, Granite Bay, CA 95746. This point is actually the parking lot by the lake. The RV sites are immediately to the left after passing the entrance kiosk. It is EASY to miss the entrance from Auburn-Folsom RD because of the lack of signage before the stop light at the entrance. There are the standard wooden picnic table which was in fair condition and a fire pit with grill. Camp hosts were nice and delivered firewood to our site. You can take a nice hike to the lake shore or drive/bike the half mile. The distance between the parking area and water is dictated by how full the lake is. At this time they were balancing the potential inflow from the massive snow pack so the shore line was a little low. Life vests were available to use if you had kids near the water. Shower design left much to be desired, water sprayed and pooled in the dressing area. Restrooms were clean, but no mirrors anywhere. No soap in the restroom. You should know that in the California valley the grasses dry up early so there is no green ground cover without active watering, which is NOT done in the camping areas so by the end of the season the sites can be dusty. In general the roads are fine, but entering the park, the trees on the right should be trimmed up a bit. See tips for activities. After all of that running around set up your chairs and just relax. There are no trains in the area, but we did hear coyotes. We camped at Folsom Lake SRA - Beals Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You are right on the American River bike trail, 10 minutes from lots of restaurants and Cookie Connection (get the Groupon) on Douglas Blvd. At Douglas and Sierra College Blvd we found many of our favorite eateries. Just minutes south of the park is Old Town Folsom, with shopping at antique and boutique stores. You are also close to light rail which can be used to get to downtown Sacramento.

Very nice CA state campground. Very good distance between sites. Full hookups or dry camping. We did full hookups. Our site #62 was 100% level so did not need to do anything. Fire pit, picnic table in each site. Well maintained power. Better sewer connection than many parks. Could actually put line in and not need a rock to keep it in place. We camped at Folsom Lake SRA - Beals Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Everything you would need is close. Gas, grocery, food, repairs, hardware store, etc. Great place to ride a bike along the dam plus several off road trails for those who want that. Folsum Lake has fishing too. Saw deer, wild turkeys, and lots of squirels in the campground. Campground a little noisey from the roadway outside, but certainly not bad. Really feels remote yet its not.

Very nice, clean park. CG Hosts very pleasant along with the Ranger. American River bike trail runs through the park so easy access if you are biking. Fantastic VZ cell signal...should be since the transmitter is right in the park! We camped at Folsom Lake SRA - Beals Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice Park. Located in-town, good place to stay for visiting local area. Also, traffic is a bit noisy due to locations. Biking is popular but fishing is very challenging despite regular stocking. Finally, campground still gets full in spite of the high fee. We camped at Folsom Lake SRA - Beals Point Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice long term RV park. We stayed here so we can visit our kids during the holidays. Pricey but okay. It was clean and the camp hosts were okay. Park Ranger was very nice. Very quiet. Please note that they charge you $10 a day for any visitors who stay longer than 15 minutes. Wish they had told us that when you register or I would have gone somewhere else. This is a very nice and well maintained state park in California. The sites were well spaced concrete and easy to get in and out. Full hook-ups. Very quite and nice location close to lots of shopping. Only complaint is that 45 dollars is high for a state park and if you are going to charge that then must you really collect another 50 cents for the showers? We stay in a lot of state parks and have always found California's to be more expensive. We camped at Folsom Lake SRA - Beals Point Campground in a Truck Camper.

The price is outrageous. $55 per night in summer and winter rates $45 per night. If you have a handicap placard and paid for a CA handicap Camping sticker, it's a 50% discount and if your a disable Vet with 50% disability it's free. The cost to make a reservation on the internet is $8. The prices for State Parks in CA is outrageous. When we arrived, our camping spot was littered with cigarettes and broken glass and there is no TV available. I stayed at two other premium campgrounds in the area during my stay at a much cheaper price. What is the State of CA thinking with their camping prices. Someone with a handicap sticker should not receive a 50% discount and a free veteran campsite is fine if it is on a space available basis. Paying customers should get first priority. I cannot recommend this park because of its lack of amenities and the high price charged to stay. We camped at Folsom Lake SRA - Beals Point Campground in a Motorhome.

We were able to get the last big rig site that was not reserved for the night and my first impressions (of my site) were that it was not situated in the best location; even though on pavement the dirt is very fine dust. However, you can walk to the lake and you are not packed in. I'm so happy they are accommodating big rigs now, I would not have known that but for this site. The State of CA has raised rates, this is the most we have ever paid for a campground. The price shown is with a Senior discount ($2), through Reserve America ($8 fee), in the full hook-up’s section ($55) of the Park. There is a separate section for dry-camping. We stayed here only one-night as it was our first time Grandson camping and we had to stay close to his home. The Park brochure says 31’ maximum trailer length; however, they have added new sites that are 40’ in length. Semi-level, asphalt sites, only a few with shade, picnic table and fire ring, and a couple of pull-through sites. Quite a bit of poison oak in the campground, ask the camp host to point it out if you can’t identity it yourself. Folsom Lake has a beach and shaded picnic area, lots of paved bike trails. Restrooms and showers were clean, tile, and individual locking rooms, but have a 50-cent fee for 4 minutes. Quiet at night, with camp host as security, host also sells firewood. No Wi-Fi internet, site box had a cable hook-up socket, but we never tried it so don't know if it's available. We camped at Folsom Lake SRA - Beals Point Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Although this wasn't a terrible place our spot had no shade, no grass, no cable, but they charged $55.00 a night and we stayed here two nights. This is a state campground. Is CA so broke they have to charge 55.00 a night. I would have passed on this one if I knew the price before hand. My wife had stayed here before was the reason we stayed here. I didn't check any other RV parks in area before start of trip. I'm sure there were much better parks for less money. We camped at Folsom Lake SRA - Beals Point Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for 4 days. The lake is walking distance from the RV Park. There is only one pull-through site which we obtained by making a reservation online through Reserve America. The rate was $44.00 with a Senior discount, plus a reservation service charge of $8.00. When we got here we noticed the pricing at the entrance was $55.00. I guess they raised the prices from the time we made our reservations. The spaces are all very spacious and not close together, so it is a quiet place to stay. We would stay here again. A beautiful setting and a quiet campground. Easy to find and a no-hassle check-in. Reservations were easy to make. We used this for an overnight spot on our way to Southern California, and liked it so much we will be back to spend a week or so to enjoy the beach and lake. Spaces have lots of room between: very private. We camped at Folsom Lake SRA - Beals Point Campground in a Motorhome.
