We stayed here for two nights while working our way up the coast. Even though it is right next to 101, the traffic noise was less than we expected. This park looks more like a home address for full-timers than travelers. The grass was shaggy, and the trees really need to be trimmed up - we had to move to an adjacent site because tree limbs were hitting our slides (and even then it was really close). Also, if hooking up to their cable TV, be sure to have a really long piece of coax, as by the time you are pulled up to the very front of your spot (necessary to squeeze your car in behind you), your utilities are way back behind you (also have a sewer line extension). Fortunately, the staff loaned me a adapter so I could string two pieces of coax together and reach the cable outlet. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for an overnight and were quite pleased, even though it is a little spendy. The pull throughs are all asphalt with a concrete patio for the picnic table. There is lots of grass and large trees. It is shoehorned between the road into town and 101, so there was road noise, but it went down after dark and with the windows closed we didn't notice it at all. The bathrooms were clean, the staff was friendly and the wifi worked great. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The best thing is the park is walking distance to the Eel River Brewery which has excellent beer and sweet potato fries!

A nice park, easy access off the freeway, walking distance to river, but not on it. Wifi and cable worked fine. There was a pool (unheated) and a spa (heated) which we didn't use, but looked clean. Our four-year-old was entertained by the basic playground area. The store had lots of stuff in it. The washrooms were basic, but seemed due for a paint job, but clean enough. Didn't use the showers. The park grounds were clean and cared for, seemed like lots of long-termers, but lots of space for short-termers. The man in the office was very helpful. We barely fit in our pull-through site -- 35' plus toad. We'd come back again and stay longer to explore the area a bit. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Motorhome.

Made reservations online with no problem. Staff were helpful and professional. Asphalt paved roads and sites. The sites are only as wide as your rig, but long enough to park tow vehicle. Our site was level side to side. The park has flat terrain. Space for awning and slides; then about 10 feet to neighbor. Enough room to maneuver big rig. Park is pretty, landscaped with redwoods and rhododendrons, appropriately. Clean facilities as others have noted. Slept fine, the 101 in Fortuna is not equal to the 405 in LA. WiFi was good. For us, the best thing was the cable. It had a full slate of local and the usual cable channels, and Comcast Sports Network Bay Area and CSN California. You can watch NORCAL sports teams, sports fans. We will be back. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Staff friendly and helpful. Sites paved with grass and trees. Park close to shopping, gas, restaurants. You could hear 101 traffic, but traffic died down after dark. Lovely walking path across the road ( river walk) good for joggers, walker, strolling with dogs, etc. A number of permanent folks but their sites were kept neat and clean. Very well stocked store. We would stay here again. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to ferndale and explore the shops, restaurants, cafes,,..see the many Victorian homes ...sweet small town.

For what the park can control, it has done a very nice job. Modifications to its original design have been made to accommodate today's larger rigs. Enough trees are between the asphalt pads to be aesthetically pleasing but not so many as to block satellite TV reception and the extension of multiple slides. (We did have to change sites to make this happen though.) The biggest issue most will have is the road noise from the adjacent freeway. As with any facility offering easy freeway access, road noise has the potential to be bothersome. For those seeking a nicely landscaped park with small city conveniences nearby and a home-base from which to visit the southern area of Eureka or 'The Avenue of the Giants' this park would be our recommendation. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Motorhome.

Check in staff were very courteous.

Site was not very wide but nice. Level paved with grass and picnic table. Trees, bushes on each site. We were at the end of a row so no neighbors on that side, and no one in site next to us for both days.

Close to Hwy 101 but didn't hear a thing overnight.

Washrooms were clean but only 1 stall in both bathroom buildings. Five showers were co-ed - could have used a mirror on the back of the door as sinks were in bathroom across the hall. A bit of a walk from the end of the park but no big deal.

Didn't use pool so can't comment on that.

We stayed for 2 nights as it turned out at Apple Festival time.

We would stay there again. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed only one night so didn't get to use all the facilities. Front office was very helpful and found us a site that was easy in easy out. Location was easy to access from 101 with a gas station just down the street. Great stop. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lovely park with tables at each site; paved coach site; lots of Redwood trees; clean laundry room with working machines; friendly staff; nice store with basic food stuff, RV supplies, and souvenirs. Appears that keeping the Redwood debris in check is a problem since our site was covered with needles and we had to sweep out our site before putting out our chairs. We were give a very short pull-thru since our coach is 24' and we weren't towing. Would have been nice to have a bit larger spot so we could put our dog pen on pavement rather than the grass. Spacious pet area but it isn't fenced so we were unable to let our dogs off leash. That was a disappointment. Cable was great. Even had digital channels which came in great on our hi-def TV. It's a bit on the pricey side, especially since the $50 reflects our Good Sam Discount. We would stay here again but probably not for longer than 1 night because of the cost. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall, this is an excellent RV Park! We read the previous reviews and were a bit concerned that we'd be disappointed... we were very pleasantly surprised and would definitely stay here again.

The sites were well maintained. We had a site with full hookups (30amps) and everything functioned perfectly. The restrooms and showers were spotless. The wifi worked great as did the cable TV (with lots and lots of channels).

We heard a little bit of noise from the nearby 101 but it didn't bother us at all.

The management was polite and helpful. We had our Harley Davidson with us in our toy hauler and were looking for roads off the beaten path to visit. The manager gave us tips on local roads which ended up being super helpful.

Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return! We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There are several restaurants in Fortuna that are five minutes away or less. Ferndale is approximately 10 minutes away and also has options. We traveled to Eureka as well which was approximately 25 minutes north of Fortuna.

Beautiful park. Out of the way though. Drive to everywhere. No stores nearby. A couple eateries in hotels nearby

Very clean. Very pricey for every little thing.

There is wifi and cable at least! Sections are private and clean. A new staff person every time we are there. Something must be bad with management since turnover is so often. The gal who was there was kind and helpful. The manager is constantly out trying to find work to do when really there isn't any. He seems uptight. Kind but uptight. Beautiful trees and heated pool. Showers a out of the way if you are parked on the south side. Very comfortable but very costly. Adds up fast! The tent area looks lovely. I love the store. Lots of goodies and souvenirs of Redwoods! We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Love the hot tub!

Trees and grass and shrubs - very pleasant park. Well maintained, walking distance to a good brew pub (Eel River Brewing) and a pizza restaurant. Quiet and removed from town and traffic (several motels nearby). We've stayed here twice, one night each, but it would be a pleasant place to stay while day tripping to the Lost Coast, Fernwood, Eureka or Arcata. With tent camping and cabins, it could be a good meeting place for groups/families. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Motorhome.

Price included Good Sam discount. We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend, so the park was almost full. Even with the full park, it was quiet and did not feel crowded. The park is right on US 101 so there is road noise, which doesn't bother us. However, if road noise will keep you from getting rest, this may not be the park for you. We were able to maneuver our 36' motor home and tow into our pull through, however if it were any longer, it would have been better to unhook at the office where they have space for three rigs side-by-side. The campground has cable, which offered many cable channels. It also offers wifi, but where we were, (which was only 100' or so from the office) the signal came and went. While connected, the speed wasn't bad. There are two pet areas, but they are not enclosed, and one of them was along the entrance around bushes. There is a pool and playground equipment available, but we did not use these. There is adequate space between sites that is grassed and several large trees for shade. Park offers 50 and 30 amp service, but ours was 30 amp. This wasn't a problem as it was only about 60 deg all weekend. This is a nice place to stay a few days while touring the redwood parks in the area. There are also several restaurants close by along with a grocery store about a mile away and a place to get fuel just past the park that a big rig can get into and out of. We would stay here again. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Motorhome.

Like others we chose this park as a basecamp to tour the Humboldt Redwood forest both North and South and it worked out great. We were warmly greeted and our receptionists gave us lots of info and tips about the area. The sites are predominantly pull thru, blacktopped and in good condition. Access was easy in/out. There is a picnic table. W/E/S utilities are convenient to access and we experienced no problems. Wi-Fi was so-so. Cable was ok. Site length was a bit cramped to fit a 39' rig plus the truck. Site width is good but a bit close too. The park is well maintained. We would stay here again. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the short trip to Ferndale while you're in the area. Beautiful little community with Victorian buildings galore. The Ferndale Pizza Company has great pizza too!
