We would stay here again. We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Passport America park. We stayed here 4 nights while visiting the Redwoods. WIFI rarely worked, even at the office. Several long term "campers", but the park was quiet. Some road noise from Highway 101, especially trucks braking as they came down the hill. Staff was very friendly. Early spring so gearing up for their busy season. Laundry facilities were poor--leaking washer and squeaky dryer. Restrooms could have been cleaner, especially the floors. Sites were spacious and the setting was pretty, and convenient for our needs. Overall we enjoyed our stay here. We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Great location for seeing the southern Redwoods. Nice convenient store within walking distance. Nice shop across the road with coffee, smoothies, ice cream, etc, as well as gifts. The Richardson Grove State Park nearby is beautiful, but this park was a better camping choice for RV's.

This place keeps getting dis'd. It is what it is. It is an older park in a narrow valley filled with lots of tall trees, it's an isolated entrepreneurial island in a sea of tall trees, few roads, many miles from support services. It is also a P.A. and for FHU/30 amp the price is one of the best deals in any part of California. The showers and toilets were clean, with good water pressure, and plenty of hot water. Note they are old and look it but are clean. We stayed in the drive through sites and had lots of sun in the front most of the day. There is Hyw noise but it's not over whelming and pretty quiet at night. They have a slow wifi that's free. Verizion MiFi works but works slowly. Solar exposure has the potential to be pretty good where we were. It also has a large community hall that is available. It's the best deal in the area with the P.A. price, everything works and is clean. We'd stay here again. We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

The nice thing about this RV Park is its clearly marked and very easy to get into from hwy 101, the pull throughs are nice and wide, and they take Passport America. Not much else on the positive side other than the trees are nice and there is a great Indian craft store across Hwy 101. Rest rooms needed maintenance, cob webs everywhere. The dumpsters were overfilled, although it was a Sunday and maybe the end day of a weekly pickup. Overall the park was shabby with some ancient RV's scattered about. That said there was a friendly air about the place. I think it is a religious camp as there were 2 church buildings on site. For a quick one night stay it was OK, sure don't want to spend too much time here though. We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Had a flat, level, gravel, pull through site. Picnic table & fire pit. Site about 70 ft. long. Narrow site. Electric, water and sewer. Secure intranet was slow but free. No AT&T service in park. Verizon was spotty. Staff friendly. Close to US 101; traffic noise noticeable. Back in sites up hill are in trees and farther from the road. Small playground for children. Propane & dump station on site. Would stay again if traveling through area or to use as a base camp to see area. We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

To RVPR: I am from Germany and my English is not perfect. If I have written a word or phrase that is not understood, please correct it so that my review can be posted. The price is based on PA. The campground is not worth the money. This is an old campground. It is the worst Campground we know. Wifi only in reception area. It is very slow. No TV. The lady at the front desk was not friendly. We will certainly come not back. We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects Passport America discount. Even with the discount I wouldn't stay at this park again. Old and tired. Thursday night before Labor Day weekend I was the only traveler staying. Also, there were no tent campers though the park looks like it was originally set up for families. The few other rigs looked to be shabby long-term campers. Even for an overnight stay I would look for something else. We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

I LOVED this park! It is a tight squeeze getting in, with a big rig. We have a 36 ft 5th wheel, and our friends have a 40 ft 5th wheel. The big beautiful red woods are amazing! You can't beat the atmosphere! Bear country! Clean restrooms. I would definitely stay here again! We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff at this park was very friendly and helpful. They actually called and told us to get groceries(including directions for the store) before coming to the area as there is not much around. The sites were level and had good hook up location. AT & T will not work in this area, however we did hear that Verizon will work. The park is older and if you have slideouts you may want to look at your site before pulling in, but we had no issues with 4 slides. The rate is PA. Rate based on Passport America. Poorly maintained park. Bathrooms in bad shape. Could not use the ladies room after a gentleman had showered as it backed up in the ladies room through the floor (?). Would not go back and cannot recommend it. We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate quoted is PA. Good 30 amp power. Wi-Fi is available at the store. Level gravel sites. No over the air TV. Fair Verizon phone. Verizon 1x data. Close to Avenue of the Giants through Humboldt Redwoods. We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We camped @Madrone Campground (the other two are Huckleberry and Oak Flat). Our site (#71) was definitely not level, but nicely secluded from the other sites. We loved camping amongst the redwoods, but the "8" rating is due to the noise level from Highway 101 right next to our site. No bugs, but bicycling to Oak Flat, I noticed them right away due to its proximity to the Eel River. The nightly rate includes the $8 reservation fee via ReserveAmerica. P.S. The in and out direction signs can be confusing; we approached our site following the directions, but the site was configured backwards! We noticed some other sites were like that as well. We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a decent place to stay for the Passport America rate, but the park is just pretty worn out. The hookups were OK (no 50 amp), but watch for spiders. The roads are in disrepair and the restrooms/showers need more attention. Our site had great shade and was close to the restrooms/laundry area. The space for trailers is gravel and the area around the campsite has lots of overgrowth. Take a walk across the road to see the Grandfather redwood (free) and the house made from one log ($1). We would stay overnight only again for the PA rate. We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Maybe excellent isn't the correct rating but we loved it here, very peaceful, nice host and hostess. Grass, picnic table, play area for the kids, gravel roads. I guess it just felt good!! We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.
