Staff very friendly. Park very quiet. Power and water all good. All hook up in center as well as dump. Sites level and gravel. They have a water truck twice a day to keep dust down. Some shade area's are tall pines. If you need clearing for satellite center of site map best for that. Verizon signal about 2 bars works good over air TV signal ok too. Great park and location for visiting the area. We camped at Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Nice campground with good RV spots. We stayed in the full hookup area as we were using it as a base camp for bicycling in the area, but there are some nice spots in the trees with water and power if you don't want to be right on top of your neighbor. They are making improvements to the lake/pond and it is looking good. Fun to stroll around and watch the geese and ducks. No picnic table or fire pits but you can rent them for your stay. I think they are 20.00 each. The fire pit rentals are propane. Sites are big and roads are easy to navigate. We will stay here again when we come back to the area. The manager called us as we would be arriving after the office closed and gave us detailed instructions of how to get to the site and check in. Very thoughtful. We camped at Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

We generally dry camp, however have also had full hook ups. Dry camping can be done anywhere you like, just not on blacktop. Hard to say where we like it best. Could point the spots/areas we like. Always very spaced out, no neighbors.. it's the best. Hook ups are typical in size and length. In rain weather, it can be muddy if you pick one of the spaces nearest to the main road to to large parking lot and fair grounds. Satellite works only in spaces far from office. Be sure to ask which spaces work. Too many big beautiful trees. Power is good and consistent and they have a full maintenance crew for both the campground and fairgrounds. We camped at Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed a week-family visit. Campground had tons of vacancy. Easy in and out big rig friendly. Lots of people come to walk or fish on the grounds. Felt safe and secure. A tree trimming company stores its equipment here. Sites are extremely close together. Your door opens to neighbors sewer/water/electric hook ups. Charged $10 to rent a picnic table (we didn't rent). They recycle!! We would stay again but would ask they not place a camper next to us or get an end site if possible. Just too close. We camped at Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

We live in town so we just stayed there to check everything out before heading out on a long trip. The fairgrounds are beautiful and our site had a view of the lake. The sites are gravel with full hook ups, nothing fancy, but large with beautiful views. We camped at Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park could really use some help. The sites are muddy and not level. It was quiet, that's about all the good I can say. There is a small lake near the campground and there are MANY geese here and there is goose poop EVERYWHERE. You can hardly step out of the RV without stepping in it! Our dog was in heaven! The grass was long and hadn't been mowed for quite a while. There was only 20 and 50 amp service (no 30?) The price was very high for what you got and they even wanted to charge you $10 for a picnic table! It is nice to be able to walk around the nice fairgrounds when there is nothing going on there. We had to wait for the camp host to return for quite a while when we arrived since she was on a break and just had a sign which read "back in a few minutes". Our reservations were a little messed up. They gave our reserved site to someone else so we really didn't know where to go. This park needs more organization and definitely more maintenance. Could be really nice with some TLC. We camped at Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice setting. Trees, small lake and very close to Grass Valley. Has full hook ups but we on occasion dry camp. There's lots of great places to do that. Many tall pine trees so if dish is important let them know. They know the hook up sites that work.

If you want a picnic table, they rent at $10. We camped at Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kiato's Sushi, Rosie Mexican, Ciano's Italian. Two Pasty shops, both very good and a must. GV and Nevada City both have a Victoria Christmas. Street vendors, signing, roasting Chestnuts. The fair grounds have many events as well. Draft Horse Event, Christmas Fair, Bluegrass and more. Google to learn dates and events.

Historic area of Grass Valley downtown is really nice. Lots of shops and good restaurants. Don't miss a tour of the Empire Mine State Historic Park and Cottage. Take both tours, mine and cottage, for $7 Beautiful victorian cottage and grounds as part of Bourn family fortune.

Not a resort but a really nice county fairground park. Large trees surround the park but I was still able to use my satellite dish. Bathrooms concrete but clean with lots of hot water. Surprisingly good Wi-Fi. Will definitely stay here again - best option in the area. We camped at Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

I would definitely stay here again. Beautiful trees, quiet, close to town. Nice lake nearby with ducks and geese. Great Wi-fi. Incredible value. Now for the negatives (don't let these dissuade you, but are just for you to be aware) - While surrounded by forest, all the campsites are in an open, exposed field with no shade. The roads and campsites are gravel (but not dusty). They are full of depressions and tire tracks that collect muddy water when it rains. There is green lawn between the sites but it's weedy and full of bare patches. And for a bizarre twist, you have to rent picnic tables! This is not a well-manicured resort. But it's still a nice place to stay considering there are no other options in the area. I would come back. We camped at Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in December and the place is a big mud hole. Poor road and site maintenance cause this "park" to have dumpy appearance. This place could be a ten if they would clean it up and get some gravel and a grader in here! Bare sites too, bring your own table if you want one. Or, you can rent one for $10 per day. This place is way overpriced for what you get but they are the only "park" in the area. We camped at Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We were a little apprehensive about staying here because the park had not been reviewed in some time, but another pleasant surprise. We came in after a rain and there were a few puddles here and there, but the gravel sites were fairly level. They are quite long, but rather narrow. There was still more than enough space to maneuver into the sites. The bathrooms were kept clean and a code was needed for access. the site manager was there every day 8-5. The surroundings were very pleasant and very quiet at night. Considering it is a fairground, there were very few flies. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
