In spite of paying $85 per night (including ridiculous California taxes), we really liked this park. The office staff was so helpful in getting us orientated for our first exploration of Frisco. Our site was level, cable TV was good, and WI-FI was very good. Even though we had a narrow back-in site, they let us use the whole site next to us to park our towed---kind of like two sites for the price of one. One nice change was we didn't have to worry about damaging our coach from low electric voltage. We had a steady 122 volts during our entire stay. As with every California campground we have stayed in, finding grassy areas in which to walk dogs is a challenge. At the back of the park, there is some sort of bird sanctuary where dogs can be walked. Sadly, most people seem to feel that since this area is hidden by a fence, it's OK to just let your dog sit. This is nothing by laziness and a complete lack of consideration for others. Shame on all of you. Also, after walking your dogs, check them for burrs as they seem to pick up a lot of them in the ultra-dry grass. We would definitely come back here again, if only to enjoy that beautiful morning fog ! We camped at Marin Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Do not drive into the city. Traffic is awful and the local drivers are rude and aggressive. Instead, walk the 0.7 of a mile to the Larkspur ferry. For $11.50 each a big, comfortable boat will take you to the city in 30 minutes.

I picked this park because it was close to the ferry into San Francisco. It is nice gravel parking lot. The people are friendly and helpful and keep the place very clean. The sites are small but the hook ups are easy. Lots of cable channels and the WiFi and Cell service is very good. I would stay here again if coming to San Francisco We camped at Marin Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You can walk to a Trader Joes and the ferry terminal. Less than 15 minutes to the ferry that takes you right into San Francisco. No driving or parking hassle.

Another plus is there a Vet clinic about 500 feet from the park where you can board your pet if you planning a long day in the city.

A typical tourist park with vans close together. Very clean. Staff meet you as you arrived and sent you to your prebooked site. Gravel with no dirt and very level sites. We camped at Marin Park in a Motorhome.

This park is just what we needed and nothing more. We needed a place to park the trailer while we went to see the sights. There are no fire rings, picnic tables, etc. The staff greeted us before we got out of the truck and directed us to the parking area. We then returned to finish checking in at our convenience. This prevents congestion at the entrance. I hope other parks catch on to this. The staff volunteered information I would not have thought to ask about. The ferry is close enough to walk to for most people and easy to drive to for others. Parking at the ferry is free on weekends and holidays and only $2 during the week. Ferry fee is $11 to SF and half price for 65 and older. We camped at Marin Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the park to stay at if your goal is to go to San Francisco. Nothing fancy. No grass, all stone. We drive a 36 foot motorhome with 3 slides and tow a 4 door jeep and we fit. Normally need around 55 foot long, they say their sites are 50, but the way it's laid out, it worked no problem. No shade. Park road is wide and easy to get in and out of your site. Level. Electric, water were all good, no problems. Neighbors are a little close once you get in and open your slides. All that said, we would stay here again. We did not use the pool, not a super large pool, but looked clean and well taken care of. There are plenty of groceries, restaurants, etc. under 3 miles. A couple of restaurants within walking distance. The staff, all of them, were very nice and extremely helpful. We were totally lost, from the east coast and our first trip here. They provided all kinds of information. This is not the kind of park we would go to, to sit around and enjoy "the views", but again if you're going to San Francisco, best shot! We camped at Marin Park in a Motorhome.

Larkspur Ferry - an easy 15 minute walk. Cost $11 each way, $5.50 for seniors. The ferry ride is about 30-45 minutes. Compare to traffic and parking fees, that ranged from $35 a day and up! Busses cars run up and down the water front, for seniors$1.00 per ride. Walking on the waterfront is flat. Many locals going to a baseball game, they also use the ferry. You hear a lot about "The Wharf", yes that was a good stop, but don't miss Pier 39! It has everything!

Friendly staff that helped us 20 minutes long with explaining the possibilities to visit San Francisco, and things to know in the neighborhood. Small swimming pool, Wifi could be a little stronger. Shops in the environment and also possibility to refill propane. Ferryboat to S.F. only 10 minutes walking away. We camped at Marin Park in a Motorhome.

Probably closest RV "park" to San Francisco. North of Sausalito, about 10 miles north of Golden Gate Bridge. Urban gravel RV "park" - nothing park like about it, but sufficient. Next to US 101 and exit ramp, so continual loud traffic noise 24/7. No trees, no bushes, no grass - just gravel and asphalt. Urban air pollution. Narrow sites, gravel = not very level. BUT pool is OK, all the requirements are here - power is OK, water OK, dumps are at back of site but OK, room for larger units. Staff are very friendly and nice. Price median for high-demand California location. And location is pretty convenient to San Francisco. We camped at Marin Park in a Motorhome.

The perfect place to stay to take the ferry in to San Francisco. 0.6 mile walk from the campground to the ferry. The ferry is then 30-50 minutes (depending on ferry) to Port of San Francisco. Then get a muni pass to cable/trolley car all over town. The lady at the RV park front desk (from Kentucky) is one of the friendliest people ever. They are all very helpful about the "how to" aspect for tourists. The showers are OK. The pool is fine. Lots of different cultures and languages here. I love that for the kids. Each night in the pool there were from 2 to 4 different languages being spoken. Vibe was very friendly. Another reviewer said they dog area had fox tails (dog danger). So we didn't use the dog area behind. You can take them out front on the street though. A nice little wetland/walk area in back by dog area is worth an evening stroll. Also runners: go left out of RV park (away from bridge) and head to Tiburon. There is a perfect running path there (towards mall). There is a water fountain and lots of doggie bags along the way. I did a nice four mile (out 2 and back 2) that was quiet and dog friendly. Get reservations early if you can. We got super lucky and got them day of going into the weekend. Super risky but it worked out. We got the last spot for that weekend. A must stay for seeing San Fran. We spent three nights which was perfect for seeing San Fran. Good to note: it takes FOREVER to get anywhere there in your car so build in about triple the time it would take you in the Midwest. We camped at Marin Park in a Travel Trailer.

Location (close proximity to Larkspur Ferry and San Francisco), flat site, and better-than-average WiFi for a campground are the only positives for this RV park. On the negative side, it was pricey ($85) per night. Sites were tight/close together, all back-in. Showers and restrooms were moldy and filthy, plus you have to walk down a narrow, poorly lit tunnel to get to them and then the step up to the facilities is a huge step up, bigger than the biggest Motorhome step. More than half the sites were occupied by locals with multiple cars who blocked your ability to park your tow without sticking out in the street. Laundry locked at 8pm. Stayed only because of location. We camped at Marin Park in a Motorhome.

We called to book a 4 night stay, and were given a confirmation number. When we were arrived, we were told that we had no reservation, and they were full. The reservation number showed in their system as an overbook, with no name associated.

As for the park itself, the location is the only selling point. The spaces are very tightly spaced. It does appear to be clean, but there is little aesthetically appealing and the location, while close to San Francisco and the Larkspur ferry, isn't otherwise particularly desirable. We camped at Marin Park in a Motorhome.

My rating is judging this park for what it is: a campground with great access to San Francisco. It is, as others have said, a parking lot with red-painted railroad ties to separate sites. The sites are level, are on rocks so you're not tracking in dust and dirt and the hook-ups are easy. The bathrooms are cleaned every day, the staff is fun and full of knowledge about the area. It is extremely close to shopping and within walking distance to Trader Joes. But, the best part is that it is within a 15-minute walk to the ferry to San Francisco and within a 15-minute drive over the bridge if you want to take your car to the city. We like to hike and it is close to a plethora of hiking locations, in China Camp SP, or in Marin Headlands or in Point Reyes National Seashore. If you like lighthouses, there are two within a 40-minute drive. There is a wetlands trail right outside the park which can be a short or a long walk, depending upon which route you take. There are bike trails all over the area for walking also.
We liked this park for what it was - location, location, location and we'd definitely come back. Our cost was for a month and we were given an extra site for our Jeep. We camped at Marin Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Charles Schultz Museum is in Santa Rosa and the Jack London State Historic Park is within 45 minutes. Both are absolutely excellent and we spent a day at each. We visited the lighthouses at Point Reyes and in the Marin Headlands. The Bay Model in Sausalito is an interesting place to visit. And, the sights in San Francisco are too numerous to mention. We had a good breakfast in Boudins in the mall.

Much has been said, mostly true. We have been coming here for 10 + years. Started at f$40 a night. Now close to $100. As a park, not worth it, as a location, it is as close to San Fran as you can get. Park is all gravel, a bit tight. They use to give us two spots, with 4 slides. This time, they did not. Said they gave us a wider space so did not need to meet the fire code. We camped at Marin Park in a Motorhome.

This RV park is located just off 101 and has convenient access to the Larkspurs ferry into San Francisco, which is the best reason to stay here. The sites are quite tight, it is basically a parking lot with gravel pads and no trees. We were fortunate enough to get two sites, one for our 5th wheel and one for our truck and we were grateful for the extra space. The sites are marked off with railroad ties and can be difficult to get into, but don't let that discourage you.

Upon checking in we received a lot of information about the area and getting into SF. The front desk was very helpful with our questions. The walk to the ferry is about 15 minutes, they give you a ferry schedule upon arrival, use it! The park has full hookups, so I didn't use the restrooms or showers, but my husband used then men's showers. You have to leave a $10 deposit for the card to use the shower, which you get back when you return the card. My husband said that two of the four showers were not operational. There are also showers and restrooms available at the pool area, I didn't visit those so I don't know what shape they were in. The park has a large laundry facility that is clean and fairly convenient. There are many washers and dryers and sizes range from large to extra large to really extra large. Prices vary, depending on hot or cold water and the size of the washer/dryer. There is a large table in the center for folding laundry.

The pool was open while we were there and our granddaughter used it once. It's small and can get quite crowded. I wouldn't call this a campground, it's really a parking area for visiting the area. There is little to no space to entertain outside, we didn't spend anytime outside at our site, even with the extra space.

I'm not in love with the park, but the location made it a good choice. We camped at Marin Park in a Fifth Wheel.
