The big draw for this park is of course its proximity to Yosemite, especially if you want full hook-ups or if you have a larger RV. It is a small resort with lots of cabins for rent. The drive to Yosemite isn't far, but then to get into the park will take you longer. We learned quickly how very congested it is in the Valley, which is a dead-end, by the way. We had originally planned on staying in the park but couldn't get a spot, and were we glad! We are in a 36' motor home, pulling a Jeep. The winding and congested roads in Yosemite would not have been fun to drive in the RV. Yosemite Ridge Resort is very nice, and our site was large with lots of grass and picnic table. The big negative is NO Verizon service and their internet barely worked. So staying here for 6 days was a bit difficult from that perspective. Note: the Groveland Library is 15 minutes away, a good spot to do your computer work. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed for 14 nights. On check in they undercharged us $200. We let them know and they charged us the $200 but little in the way of thanks. The laundry room is appalling, dirty, dark, and one of the dryers did not work so you spent far too much time waiting. On 2 occasions mysterious charges appeared on our Visa in the amount of $1.00. We questioned it the first time and after 3 calls the owner gave us a buck. The second time we brought it up the owner never got back to us. We had 1 of 2 pull through sites and it was very large but so sloped that I could not level my travel trailer even with blocks. The park was quiet and adequately maintained. The front dessk has postcard type handouts showing a nightly rate of $40 but the rate is actually $50. Water supply was very close to the ground and right beside the sewer connection. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Yosemite gate is 25 minutes away. Yosemite valley is 1 1/2 hrs away. Wifi was mediocre when no one was around and non existent when park was full. Verizon wireless was spotty at best dropping nearly every call. Nearby Groveland has a library with good Wifi and mobile service

Totally deceiving on line description on the web site. The park was clean and quiet and relatively close to Yosemite National Park. Those are the good points. On the web site it is promoted as a "resort". As an active rver, we all know "resort" means the park has a pool, wifi, and cable. Yosemite Ridge used these terms very liberally! The pool-CLOSED the entire 3 days we were there. The excuse-CLEANING! Cable- yes, about 12 stations, of which only 3 could be seen through the snowy picture. WiFi-PLEASE! It worked, sometime, at 5:00 AM till 6:30. Again after 11:30 PM for 30 minutes. In the afternoon, at 4:00, you had 45 minutes. Going to the office to report outage is a waste of time. The staff could do nothing about wifi. Only the owner was able to reboot and try to get wifi. He was seldom there or couldn't correct the problem. These hours were even sketchy. We have AT&T cell service. No service at this park. So, no cell and basically no wifi. We were advised to travel to Groveland, about 15 minutes away, to get cell service. We did get cell service in Groveland. Not exactly convenient to keep in touch with family! The laundry room was run by an outside party. So, the sign told you not to complain to the office as they were not involved with the machines. The icing on the cake- COLD WATER ONLY!!! I hope when we review parks we all start including cell reception and wifi dependability. Had we known the park had no cell and basically no wifi, thus no communication, we would not have stayed here. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Motorhome.

The showers were old and the shower faucet was very hard to operate. the water flow was weak. The water at the site was brown so I was glad I had recently bought a water filter. The wifi was very difficult to acquire, it took at least 15 minutes and then there was no internet access after the router was acquired. I think they take advantage of being right next to Yosemite. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Motorhome.

There are only 2 good things I can say about this park. 1. It is very close to Yosemite. 2. It was very shaded. Other than that, I have a hard time finding a lot of positives. No cell service, AT&T, Verizon, none. ZIP! No internet. It literally worked 45 minutes a day. And the "cable" consisted of a handful of snowy stations. No fenced dog area. Pool closed for cleaning (our entire stay of 3 nights). Only cold water in the laundry room.

The owner was never on site to deal with the issues. The office staff tried to help, but couldn't. I do understand that this is a rural area and that cell service can be spotty. The fact that it's non-existent should be addressed on the website, not at check-in. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Motorhome.

Yosemite Ridge Resort, owner at Yosemite Ridge Resort responded to this review

Dear MBroussard, It sounds like you are reviewing the cell service and internet, not our park. I am the owner and live on site, however, what would you have me do about the limited Verizon and internet? Would it have helped if I came over and said "Oh gee, we're sorry we are on satellite and it is slow with so many trying to use it"? It is what it is and is why we do not charge for internet. If you walked around a bit you would have gotten a good Verizon signal. I believe, with the whole forest next to you, that we don't really need a dog park and you are the first to ask for one. Also, we do the best we can with the TV signal and you are always welcome to set up your own dish if you want. Most of our guests come to get away from the city and visit Yosemite, not watch TV and be on the internet.

Very nice campground located within 20-30 minutes from Yosemite National Park. This is a small park with RV sites and some cabins, no tents allowed. The pool was appreciated after a long day of hiking. Wifi didn't work very well, but they let you know that during check in. Fuel is available on site. There's a small playground for children. My only suggestion is to add a fenced dog area. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This RV park served a purpose...a place to sleep at the end of long days in Yosemite. This is a small park with more park model rentals than RV sites. We were there the week of Memorial Day so I had made reservations a few months in advanced. Could have found a site short notice, but only for 1-2 nights as people were in and out of the park frequently. Even though you are 13 miles from the Yosemite park entrance it's still a 45-60 Minute drive to the Valley floor, Hetch Hetchy and Glacier Peak. Be sure to arrive at the park entrance before 8:30AM or after 4-5PM to avoid lines at the entrance and to find parking. Most days we were heading back to the RV about 2pm (we have a dog) and experienced 3mile long traffic trying to get into the park. Had a late start one morning and got to the entrance at 9:30. Had a 30 minute wait in traffic. Would recommend avoiding the valley floor on weekends...insanely crowded. We stuck to perimeter hikes over the holiday and visited the valley during the week. Wifi & Verizon cell coverage is terrible at the RV park. We had better connectivity in the Valley and took our camp chairs to set up under shade in the parking lots to get calls made and some online work done. Cable was really bad in site 4 and let front desk know. Took 4 days for someone to come and test it. All he said was, " yep, it's bad" and that was the last of it. One morning we had zero water at the campsite and in the bathhouses. Bathrooms were OLD and barely functional. The pool area was very nice though! We did drive through the Thousand trails RV park a few miles down the road. Very steep road in/out but many more campsites, but felt a bit overgrown and tight. We will probably give it a try next time. Overall Yosemite Ridge was OK for our needs to go to the park every day. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A ways to go to reach greatness. Surface was a clay like dirt that never dried out, so it was muddy all the time. Water worked fine. Electric was fine until the last of our 6 days, when we had a fault warning 3 times. Sewer connection was a full foot uphill from the sewer outlet on my coach - in fact, the sewer connection was in the neighbor's site. They have cable TV and they give a list of about 12 channels. They actually get only 6 channels which include CBS and Fox, but no ABC or NBC. I counted only 9 RV sites and a dozen or so park models they rent out as cabins. Trees prevented satellite reception and it looked like there was only one site from which you would get it. WIFI is Tengointernet with all the shortcomings we are used to. It worked sometimes and not other times. It is about an hour's drive to Yosemite Valley. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Motorhome.

Good news is it's a nice, quiet park with good sized sites. BUT their reservations system is AWFUL! We made reservations online and received an e-mail confirmation. But when we arrived, they had us down for arriving on the following day. Evidently, the owner is only onsite during the summer season, but continues to take the reservations from his location on the east coast and then calls someone onsite to enter them on the books. Receipe for disaster. Thank goodness they had another site available for the first night and then we had to move to another site for the rest of our stay. Park needs some TLC. Water pressure is terrible, bathrooms need upgrading and we had a constant issue with gnats in our face. But the owner decided to spend his money on putting in a swimming pool. Also, they double charged us for our stay because the person working the desk the day we left couldn't find their copy of the receipt. Luckily, we had ours and she reversed the duplicate charge. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Great location to explore Yosemite, the park entrance is about a half hour drive. Small RV park with cabins available as well. A little dusty, they could use some gravel at some of the sites to keep the dust down. But otherwise we enjoyed our stay there. After a long day of walking or hiking we enjoyed sitting with our feet in the pool at the end of the day. Staff was friendly and we were especially appreciative of their flexibility when we had to leave early due to the excessive smoke that continued to roll in due to some wild fires in the area. On that note alone we will return to this RV park when we return to finish exploring Yosemite. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Motorhome.

First, let me qualify this review by saying that we made our reservations fairly close to the time we arrived so I am sure that we were assigned one of the last available sites, site 13. It was not level and we could not get level. Other sites in the park seemed to be more level. The 50 amp breaker at our site was poorly wired and did not work when we arrived. The camp maintenance man did respond fairly quickly to our request for help. We were never confident that the 50 amp breaker was working correctly. Campground lighting wiring was also poorly installed. We also had such low water pressure that we chose to use our pump. Overall, we felt that the park is in need of repair. The layout of the campground requires some skill in parking. The park is close enough to Yosemite to make it a good location to stay. If I stayed here again, it would not be in site 13. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Motorhome.

Campground is convenient to Yosemite NP. It's small with shaded sites. The sites are gravel, with a grassy area, picnic table, and fire ring. The restrooms were clean. There didn't seem to be any heat or A/C, but we didn't need it during our stay. The laundry was reasonably priced. RV sites are mixed in with the cabins, which is good if you camp with someone who prefers cabins. Joe, the owner was very friendly. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The good: quiet, clean sites, clean bathrooms. The bad: We asked for a pull-through but they said they could not guarantee them, but there was one available when we showed up...did not get it. Backing in was a bit hairy. LONG drive to Yosemite from here. 38 miles of twisty up-and-down. The road coming up to the park from the valley had the most severe, steep switchbacks we've encountered. 15 MPH all the way up for 5 miles. Wi-Fi was awful and no Verizon at all. Next time we'll go over to Mariposa way to stay. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Motorhome.

This was the closest place we could find to the west side of Yosemite without being in the park and it was a pleasant surprise. There's an older charm to the property and area, and despite the dated bathrooms (which were clean) we liked it. Owner gratefully squeezed us in for two nights so our site was small; others looked much roomier. $1 per load for w/d was great! WiFi is intermittent; don't count on it. We will surely come back here. We camped at Yosemite Ridge Resort in a Motorhome.

General store & gas station on property. Terrific nostalgic ol' diner 1/4 mile up the road run by same owners - we had 3x breakfast, 1x lunch, and 2x dinner there - clearly we liked the place, food, and the price!

Our experience was good. I loved the surrounding area and the fact of being close to Yosemite made our visits delightful. The park is in a good location, it's small but accommodating, and clean. The sites are gravel and appeared to be fairly level. As previously mentioned, no wifii or cell phone signal so we were prepared. It is a very quiet and quaint campground.
