The only reason we chose this park was its location just outside of Healdsburg, as we were there for wine tasting. The site we were originally booked in was a pull-through with no shade. Since it was over 100 degrees when we arrived, the office offered us a choice of back-in sites that were shaded, which we appreciated. We would stay here again, but only for the location. We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Has the potential to be a great, smaller park--lovely setting along the Healdsburg River with lots of mature trees. Very close to many excellent wineries. Helpful, mostly friendly staff. No full hookup sites, although there IS a dump station. A huge negative for us were the BURRS! Look carefully at the map before reserving a site--those in the west half of park are on lovely grass. Sites on the east side are all covered in burrs, many kinds, and all painful for people and pets. So bad in fact that I routinely carried our two dogs to/from vehicle to pavement for walks. Extensive burrs in large tent camping area also, and on path to river. Re site selection, the south side of park bordered by busy road leading to Graton Rancheria, a popular Indian casino. We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Mustache Bakery in Healdsburg is tiny and delightful, cupcakes are to die for! Many upscale restaurants and shopping of all kinds around the shaded town square. Down-to-earth Flying Goat Coffee is a welcome organic respite. We're heading back to AV Park next month with site reserved at west end!

We don't use the bathroom/shower facilities so they're not an issue. Passport America discount makes this a real value when visiting our favorite wineries in the Alexander Valley, Dry Creek appellation's. Sites are paved, level and spaced reasonably. The only downside is at this time of year (grape harvest) traffic noise starts at around 4AM. We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Healdsburg is an overpriced town on everything, RV Parks included. Most were $50 with medium reviews. Clothes washing $3.50 to $4.50 at cheapest. This park is OK. My site required all 8 of my 12x24x2 blocks to get close to level on my 38' mh. All sites are water/elect only w/dump station on site. Weekends park was full of families. I would stay here again due to price. Signage at turn-off from Alexander comes up very quick (we passed it 1st time). We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

RV site was fairly level and well kept. However, there is only a dump station, no sewer at the site. We didn't realize that when we made the reservation. We had conversations with other campers who were surprised also. I wish there had better notification about the sewer when making the reservation. Secondly, for a price of $50.00 a night, I would expect cable TV, which there was none. There was wifi but it was all but useless. When wifi is minimal, I usually use my cell phone and a tether but my cell service was very minimal also. We have Verizon cell phones so it could be that other service providers would have been better. It was hot when we were there and there was no pool. Only the river. We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed overnight on way home from winter in the desert. Other parks in the area had bad reviews, so I chose this newer one, and I had the 50% Passport discount. It had just opened for the season, so was being cleaned. Some spaces have 20 amp with 30 amp, some 20 with just 50 amp, you have to go looking at each to find out. But many of the new looking power pedestals were defective, one wired just a single breaker for the 30 amp which blows loudly with a pop and spark even when nothing is plugged into the pedestal, space 48.

But None with sewer connection other than the one dump station, No cable; no WiFi. Most sites nicely mowed grass but far from level. There are restrooms and they do have one shower in a small utility trailer separate from the restrooms. Overall, OK overnight with half price Passport, but would be terrible for full $50 price they first quoted! This is a couple miles off Hwy 101, so its rural and pleasant environment with a river on the site. We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

The very nice lady who was at the desk was unfamiliar with discounts, optimal parking spots for big rigs and the computer. She seldom works and apologized. It was frustrating for all of us. The park is being improved and a good location for Healdsburg. It is an attractive RV park and clean. Each site has a small grass area. This park appears to be "open to the public" but it's really not a bad campground once all the day/ weekend users/picnikers go home. Actually turns into a regular campground then. Quiet. It is way overpriced for what you get, though. No cable; no wifi; no sewer. A couple of tight turns getting to the pull through sites and it looks like we'll have a tight turn getting out of our site but the sites are long enough for a dually and 40' fiver. I'm not sure how well exiting the campground will go since you're right on a curve and traffic moves rather quickly along Alexander Valley Road. We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park. We were concerned after reading other reviews, but it was a very nice park with no issues at all. May have been the time of year we stayed, not sure. We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

It's such a shame that this is the only RV park option in this beautiful area because it is not good. It has the potential of being a nice park; however, the tent camping area is completely covered in trash and ruins the overall feel of the park. It also make it feel like you are in a very unsafe area with homeless types hanging around. It really is too bad because it is located on a river and very conveniently located to the adorable town of Healdsburg and several very good wineries. We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is our fourth time here. Nice campground, particularly for the location. The workers are very accommodating. We called on the way from a very long day of driving and asked for a pull through instead of our the site we had reserved. Asked what was available, they gave us the sites, and allowed us to pull right in without stopping, and select the site. As to the tent city aspect. Yes, there are a lot of people, children running around playing, and enjoying the "beginning" stage of camping. They are not particularly near the RV camping, and, unless you are VERY sensitive, this should not effect your enjoyment. Well deployed security (I mean handcuffs etc.) walked around all evening. Not that there was a hint of a problem, but, if you had a concern, they were available. The RV sites are narrow, although, some on the end, are quite nice. However, we're here on a Friday evening, and, no one is next to me, or across. Most of the activity is in the "tent city" If you want to be in the middle of the wine country, this is as good as it gets. We've stayed at the Fairgrounds in Napa and Calistoga, and believe me, I'll take this place any time. Just have the RV spirit, and you'll love it! We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Had to go through crowded tent/day use campsites to get to the RV campsites. The RV campsites where spaced tight. No sewer hookup available and may need to wait to get to the dump station. We would highly advise that if you have a big rig that you stop by the office and have them guide you in and out of the campsite. We would not go back. Overall Rating:

We stayed here in July on a Saturday night, and it was packed!! They do have an RV area with OK sites, but you have to run the gauntlet through the crowded tent city and the cars that go with it!! There is no place to pull over and check in, and there was a lot of traffic piling up behind us. We have a 34 ft 5th wheel, and it was very difficult to maneuver to get to the RV sites. There was nowhere to turn around, and we were forced to proceed. We were so worried about getting back out the next morning that we were out of there by 8am before everything got going again. They had a trailer brought in with 3 men's and 3 women's bathrooms. By dinner time only 1 stall in the women's had paper left, and they needed a good cleaning. By morning, both men's and women's bathrooms were disgusting and unusable. 3 showers for the whole place, and 2 of them couldn't be used during the daytime. There were just not enough services for the number of people that they packed in there. This was one of the more expensive campgrounds that we've stayed at, and it was not worth it. We won't be back! We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects extra $3.00 per day pet fee. Also for water & electric hookup only. This park is way overpriced. When I called to make a reservation I asked about a Good Sam discount, and they said they accept it, then when we arrived they said they do not. There is only a small pristine area for bigger campers. Right outside this area were beer bottle caps, broken glass and years worth of buildup of little bits of trash on the grassy area. Open trash bins were full of bees buzzing around. The water smelled and tasted bad. We will not stay here again. We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Sites are too narrow. With slide extended, it was within 5 ft of next door's fire pit. Too close for comfort. With day users, it was difficult to maneuver rig between parked cars to exit park. Would stay again, despite the narrow sites. We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
