Overall Rating:

We were disappointed in this place. it is just a tourist ripoff on the side of the road. We were put in the very back in a back-in space. We had to drive around the park in order to get to the location since the turn to the space was a tight turn to the right. We stayed one night and we were glad that was all we stayed. They had plenty of pull thru spots which were not occupied and we were not offered one. Our motorhome is 40 ft and sometimes it is not easy to move in tight spaces but my husband seems to be able to get it done even tho he is not happy doing it. The spaces were fairly close together but we were able to park our jeep next to our coach as the parking area was next to the playground and a kid had thrown a bottle at our car already. Most people parked next to the playground. The place looked old, dusty and unkept. There is asphalt on most of the area from what I could see. Playground equipment is old. Looked like lots of people were spending the weekend there. We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are shops there but they are geared for selling mostly candy. They have a fruit stand but it is expensive. Go down the road and the prices are cheaper. The wine shop is nice but expensive also. Did not try the restaurant. The ice cream bakery looked dinky. Not much in the bakery and the ice cream was about 15 flavors. Again all expensive.

We stay at Casa de Fruta a few times a year-our favorite spot for festivities in the area-Gilroy Garlic Fest. in July, Ren. Faire in fall, etc. We camp in an A-frame pop-up so don't HAVE to have paved roads or concrete pad. There are two camping areas-the upper area (described in the other reviews) AND the lower area, "Creekside", with hookups (elec/water/tv, not sewer) and "Orchard" without. We always camp in the lower area, which has lots of shade, nice grass and none of the road/highway noise. You take a 1-lane dirt road uphill/downhill to get in/out, which is no problem for us, but doesn't seem to be a problem for the class "A"s who camp next to us either. No porcelain plumbing in the lower area, but the walk to the upper area bathrooms only takes 5 minutes and isn't an issue for those with facilities in their trailer/RV (like us). The area is always clean and the office staff have always been ultra friendly and helpful. A little pricey, but the Good Sam discount helps. We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to see in the area...Pinnicles National Park outside Hollister; the wineries on highway 152 west of Gilroy: old town San Juan Bautista, etc. And although pricey, we can't leave the area without a stop at "Casa De Wine"for a few bottles...

We were just here for a two-night stopover so we could see Pinnacles Nat'l Monument on our way to Yosemite. This would be a very nice place to stay for an extended stay with kids -- just not in the summer (heat warning)! There is so much fun here for the kids: playground, pool, open grassy areas to run around, a miniature train ride (costs), a carousel, and more. If you have a few dollars to burn you could stay busy here for 2 or 3 days without leaving the park and not get bored. Sites are a little tight, but reasonable. Hookups are convenient. Bathrooms and laundry facility are very nice and clean. We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Sites in front are asphalt, in back are gravel. Long enough for our 40 ft motor home, but narrow for slideouts. Parking area for toads. Good electric, water pressure, cable. Wi-Fi was excellent; we were near the office. We were there with a group. Community room needs new refrigerators, stove, and floor. A/C worked fine when we were there, but it wasn't hot so can't say what it might have been trying to cool a large group in summer. Garbage picked up at least daily (I think it was twice a day). Not a destination for us except for group fun. A long way to things to see and do. But, the hills were green (nice to see here) and we had our group stuff to do. We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight on our way to the coast. Quick, efficient check-in at the combined RV/motel office. The RV park is completely blacktopped (even around the trees) for some reason but that makes the sites very level and clean. There is a lawn area in the center of the park for some green relief. There were very few campers when we stayed in February so they were assigning every other site, giving us lots of room. If the place was full, you'd be really close to your neighbors. It's a bit of a walk to the fruit stand and stores but worth it. Nice respite after a long drive. We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice to be near all the Casa de Fruta shops and restaurant. A lot of open space for dog walking, interesting old farm equipment everywhere made walks quite fun. Uneven, extremely close sites. Only a handful of RVs the week we were there so we had plenty of room but I wouldn't stay here during a busy time. Staff very nice and helpful. We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

I stayed here for a pow-wow and the grounds were excellent. When we stayed, most other guests were also there for the same event. We had a lot of space between our RV and the neighbor RVs. We were in a paved section, but we didn't spend too much time hanging around the RV. Most of the time, we were enjoying the festivities on the grounds. A lot of space to roam and explore around. We didn't check out the pool or the showers, so I can't speak to that portion. The shops and fruit stands around had some great stuff to buy..I loved the spicy peanuts they had. I didn't personally make the reservations so I'm not sure about the service, but my friend had no complaints. I'd come back here again for sure! We stayed here because we we're attending the Ren Faire which is held on the property. It is a pretty good park with numerous amenities. Almost totally paved except for one grass section. Our site was a back-in which was a little short but ok. No fire pits but you can bring your own. Nice grounds and pool. Merry go round, train, sweet shop, wine shop and restaurant also part of property. We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Place was empty. Restrooms spotless. The best part of the RV park is proximity to the fruit stand and the restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The camping area has a bit too much pavement for me but as an overnight stop, it is perfect. We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

I had heard allot about this campground and decided to try it. I was very disappointed with the park. They only have 3 spaces that were 50 amp. The spaces are very tight. Had another motorhome been next to our space I would probably have not been able to open my awnings. The spots were asphalt and no grass around them for being a so called resort. The staff was very helpful and attentive to concerns that were voiced to them. The Wi Fi they had didn't work most of the time and I found out the entire Casa de Fruta complex uses the same Wi Fi system. There were sewer vent pipes sticking out of the ground and you could smell the sewage at times quite strongly. Although they had notices about no motorcycles on the property we did see mini bikes and smaller motorcycles riding around. I think the resort they are talking about is their restaurant and other stores on the property . We were in space number 49 during our stay. We were there with another couple in their fifth wheel and we both agreed we would not return there . We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Motorhome.

There are 3 areas to stay in. We were with a club, we were close to the clubhouse and pool, and the freeway. Fair amount of road noise. Very limited 50amp and it was hot, only 1 AC works with 30 amp, so a hot weekend. Sites are paved (our area) level but very skinny. WiFi was slow found AT&T 3G faster. No stores around. So bring it with you. OK for an overnighter. We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Motorhome.

My family and I spent two days here and all was well. If I could complain, the site they gave us did not have 50 amp service, but it was cool enough that we didn't need more than the 30 amp site they assigned us. My kids report that the pool was cold, but refreshing. We have Verizon cell phones which all worked great at this site. Camp site Wi-Fi was slow in the evenings, but better early morning. I would return her for a one night stay over. We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Motorhome.

We used this park for a stopover on the way to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and again the next night for the return trip. Making reservations was easy and the office staff is friendly and accommodating. Coming in late night was no trouble. Our space was perfectly level and all the hookups were well-located and functioned fine. The check out time is 1pm: which was great after a long day at the boardwalk. The onsite restaurant is 24 hours, has good food, and a jewel of a hostess. A bit of road noise at night, but not a big problem. This park has a nice, easy-going way about it and we will definitely return. We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Motorhome.

Big paved lot, nothing intimate about the campsites themselves. It was very clean and had some of the nicest bathrooms and showers I have seen. Enjoyed the large open area for the kids to play in as well as the playground. Nice fruit stand to buy fresh fruit. We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Travel Trailer.
