The rate was $30 per night, plus $1 per night for our dog. The campground is big rig friendly, easy in/out, although there are a couple of humps at various places where you may need to be more attentive. The campground is a large sandy lot and the wind really blew when we were there. Many of the sites in the park are not level, but the office staff worked with us to find a site that would work for our rig. We parked with our electric and water hook up on the passenger side since that made it easier for leveling. We had intended to stay only two days, but extended our stay for five more days. Sites have water and electric. There is a dump station on site. Sites are separated by various types of trees/shrubbery. Showers are in a separate building from the bathrooms. Showers were clean each time I used them. The only issue we had while staying there was that my iPhone 5s would not receive or send calls. I could send and receive text messages and email, just couldn't make or receive calls. My husband's iPhone 6 was fine. When we mentioned this at the office, they said they were aware of the issue with the 5s. Our carrier is Verizon. There is plenty of space to walk pets in the park or just outside the park, and there are places to hike. We would stay again if passing through the area. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Site 311 is very difficult to level. It slopes in front and on each side. If you're into hiking, we'd recommend the 49 Palms Oasis hike.

Park was very well located to visit all the attractions around Palm Springs. At 5 miles from Route 62, it was very quiet and very dark at night. We did not use the pay for WiFi through Mojo Hotspot, instead checking in at the National Park visitor centers. Leveling took a little more effort but was not a problem. The park was not full by any means but the limited bathroom/shower facilities could get really busy if the park is full. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Easy access to either the Joshua Tree or 29 Palms entrances to Joshua Tree National Park. The George S. Patton museum is just east of Indio at Chiriaco Summit if you like history. The Shields Date farm in Indio has 30 kinds of dates and a wild variety of free samples and date treats for sale. The Palm Springs Air Museum should not be missed if you like vintage aircraft and history - and a lot of the old birds still fly! Of course Joshua Tree National Park with many opportunities.

Joshua Tree Lake RV Park We think we have found a gem of an RV park. Many people will disagree because there are no paved roads or green grass. We were going to dry camp at Joshua Tree National Park but it is cold in the winter. So I looked for a campground with hookups. They have water and electricity and a dump station. There are clean bathrooms and showers and port-a-potties for some tenters. The sites are very large and divided by bushes. There are acres for tenters and RV dry camping. There is a lake full of fish and all kinds birds. The Campground is 5 miles off the highway and out of town and near the mountains so it is quiet and you can see the stars. An astronomy group leases part of the property for star gazing gatherings twice a year. The manager is very friendly. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

There are very few RV parks in the area. This one is 5 miles out of town and 10 miles from Joshua Tree National Park. Anything in this area is rustic. This park was kept up and it had a lake and trees and wildlife.

I had a great experience when camping here event though it was just for one night. The large grounds were very pretty with green areas. The staff was very friendly. However we had strong wind and camping was not advised, so I was forced to sleep in my car as many other campers. The restroom was clean. Did not use shower though. The price was reasonable. The only downsize was that this campground was about 9 miles away from the entrance to the Joshua Tree national park seemingly in the middle of nowhere. 9 miles was too far for me to commute daily, so decided to stay only one night. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Tent.

Friendly and efficient staff, clean, large sites AND quiet! Lots of room to walk my service dog. All sites are separated by mature oleander. A "pay to fish" lake that put out a 25# catfish this fall! Great place and you can even get pizza delivered if you've had a long day of hiking and climbing at the national park. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Joshua Tree National Park should top anyone's list!

Angel View Thrift Store--- last summer, someone bought a genuine Andy Warhol painting here. United States largest Marine Corps base is nearby but access is restricted so you need to know someone on base or have DoD ID as I do.

Sites were clean and nice, Electric, water no sewer but there is a dump station. We'll definitely be back. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Want quiet and big sky? This is a great place. There is the Joshua Tree Astronomy Arts Theater. We had an amazing night with them. Our scope just added to the what everyone could go around and see. Going to spend some more time star gazing.

Facilities; flush toilets, hot showers, dump station, laundry facilities are all on site. Store is the most basic so bring everything you need. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

It's the desert but nice enough if you want to be in the area. It is way off the highway so very quiet. The sites are sand with some bushes in between and a couple of trees here and there. The little fishing lake is cute - we didn't fish. You can occasionally get a cell phone signal (Verizon) and texting worked sporadically. They have a WiFi provider that you have to pay for, but it didn't work very well - very slow and even sporadic. It was through MoJo Hotspot. They must know that it doesn't always work because they are very quick to give you a refund - no questions asked.

Restrooms are good and clean. Showers good and clean and free. Only one dump so if you are leaving when everyone else is - there will be a line. There is a large tent camping area that fills up on the weekends. There didn't seem to be anyone going around to check on things but we didn't have any problems.

We were able to get a good satellite signal - it is the desert after all.

If you are going to be in this area - it is the best private option. We did not check out the RV sites in Joshua Tree National Park - but that would be dry camping.

Some sites have fire rings and some even have a picnic table. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice place to stay overnight or longer. They have a private fishing lake with no license needed. Sites are sand with bushes planted between sites. Looks as if was an older RV park but renovated lately. Very nice host. Recommend and will stay in the future. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is an OK park. It's the desert so don't expect a "resort". Located 5 miles off the highway it is very quiet here. No cell service but they seem to have a very good wi-fi system. All sites are sandy and not very level so bring lots of leveling blocks. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Escapee rate. Good enough park. It's sandy and it's the desert. I can see where it would kick up with the wind but fortunately we didn't have any during our stay. Nice wide sites, ours was level. Supplied utilities just fine. Easily accessible dump site. Very marginal cell service and certainly no data service. Had I been staying longer I think my trucker antenna/amplifier would have taken care of it. Good WiFi signal at our site. The charge to users is OK with me if it keeps the price for sites from going up to get everyone to cover the cost. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Unfortunately we could only stay for one night before we had to leave for another RV park in the area because a group event had completely booked this park. We have stayed here earlier and will return in the future. The park is a few miles off the busy highway, so noise is not an issue at night. During the day some shooting and ATV noise is going on. The sites are sand, pretty large, and easy to get in and out. Our rate was for a pull through full hookup including an escapee member discount. Leveling was easy, the hookups were in good order, and perfectly placed. Sites are arranged parallel and some oleanders give a little privacy. We cannot comment on the restrooms or showers since we did not use them. However, value for money is very good and the lack of Wi-Fi is bearable for a few days. Shopping and Wi-Fi is about 8 miles away. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Campground is an open sand flat with minimal vegetation between sites. Lots of grit in the air when windy. The site was not level front to back. Electric OK, water pressure was low (22 psi), no sewer, no cell service. Very good wifi - fast and stable - but not included in the camping fees ($14.95/week extra). Biggest positive to this campground is that it provides convenient access to the north side of Joshua Tree National Park. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Very reasonably priced -- our rate was the weekly rate. Nice campground and nice owners who obviously care about their facility. The place was very, very clean. It was quiet and the small lake was a real surprise in the desert. There were two sets of bathrooms and showers. There was a large sink if you wanted to wash dishes. We went in March and it was not crowded at all. Be careful not to park behind big rigs if you want Wi-Fi since they can block the signal. We are small and this happened to us. Also, there was no cell reception. It really is off the beaten path, but not that far to drive into town. The only real downside was the lack of sewer hookups, although the dump station was pretty close. Had the sites had the sewer included, I would have rated this park a 9. Yes, we would happily stay there again. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.
