Overall Rating:

Decent park, and we'd stay again. The word "resort" is a stretch, which is common at many RV parks. They do have fishing specific amenities which are nice if you're here to fish. Overall the park is clean and well maintained. Campground WiFi was decent although slow on the weekend when the park gets busy. Verizon was OK most of the time for non-streaming loads. ATT got zero signal. Most of the sites your door opens to face your neighbor's door which is odd. During the week it wasn't a problem. Site 36 is by far the best site in the park. Big "front lawn" with wonderful views. We camped at Chinook RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Paul's salmon jerky next door was good. False Klamath cove, just to the north is great Hidden Beach, right by Trees of Mystery is awesome If your unsure, wear jeans when hiking due to possible overgrowth.

Overall Rating:

This is the second time we've stayed here. They now have 50 amp service. We found the bathrooms clean, with good hot water and pressure. This is the off season and the place was mostly empty with a few long term residents and 2-3 late travelers who leave in the morning. Part of the off season is that it's also the rainy season so the ground was very soft for the first inch or so but it's gravel underneath. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We'd stay here again. It is a very good value for the price. The site we stayed at had an uninterrupted view of the river and there was a nice deck with a fire pit right on the river. We camped at Chinook RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is basically a fishing camp. Fisher (wo)men (fisherpeople?) will like it here but it wasn't my sort of park.

The maintenance guys at this park were among the friendliest and most helpful I've encountered. RV park maintenance isn't known to attract friendly, helpful employees so these guys really stood out. The older couple at the front desk were also very friendly and helpful.

The restroom/shower facilities were old and not cleaned more than once a week (same cigarette ashes on floor for days.) Fortunately, most of the residents didn't trash the facilities. The utility posts were covered in cobwebs, a personal "ick" factor for me. The biggest downside is the narrow sites. Fortunately, we didn't have anyone on one side for most of our stay but when a 5th wheel pulled in for 2 nights, I felt like a sardine. The wifi is sketchy at best. The signal is strong but they throttle it so it's near impossible to do more that check e-mail and weather forecast. VZN MiFi sort of worked and T-Mo was MIA. Advertised cable channels didn't match what we were able to receive. We camped at Chinook RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Abalone Bar & Grill at the Redwood Hotel Casino is great and just 1 mile south. Other diners/grills in the area are forgettable.

CG laundry is old & decrepit. There's a better laundromat behind the casino.

Closest grocery store is Crescent City, 20 miles to the north. Be sure to stock up before getting to the park.

When we stayed they were having problems with the 50 amp electrical, but the 30 amp back-in site was very wide and well kept. Staff was very friendly, but I can't call this a resort. We did enjoy our stay and were here a week. We camped at Chinook RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We love this place, very easy to get into from hwy 101. The pull throughs are very spacious and the back-ins are extra wide with plenty of room for a tow vehicle and space between the neighbors. The staff was friendly and helpful, they couldn't do enough to make our stay pleasant. Wi-Fi was fast and TV, although limited to 13 channels, was clear. (No AT&T cell service as is the case on this part of the coast) Its right on the river with a boat dock and guide service available for fishing tours. They take PA after Oct 1 with no limit on how long you can stay. Close access to the Indian Casino and gas station. We have stayed here before and will certainly come back. We can't believe this place rated an 8+. Nice location on the river is the only plus. Numerous very ratty permanent residents. All evening /night partying, loud music, swearing at the top of their lungs. ATVs spinning tires throwing gravel. Most took place past closing so we couldn't address with management. Class act this place is not. This is the first time RV Park reviews has missed the mark this bad for us. We camped at Chinook RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The office isn't staffed off season so we accomplished everything by phone and exchanging notes. Beautiful site on the river. Wi-Fi was great. Right on US-101 so getting in is no problem, unlike some other RV Parks. Some permanent rigs but it wasn't a problem. Close to Redwoods and Trees of Mystery. Had lovely stay. To RVPR: I am from Germany and my English is not perfect. If I have written a word or phrase that is not understood, please correct it so that my review can be posted. The price is based on PA. There are places for 15 $ and 16.50 U.S. We stood right on the River. Fantastic views of the river and the mountains. Seals swim by. The owner and his wife are very friendly. It is quiet there. There is free wood for Campfire. The wifi is very fast. We love this place and would definitely come back. We camped at Chinook RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Our grass pull-thru site was level and long enough for our 40-foot motor home and tow dolly, with room to park our toad next to the motor home. No trees to block our satellite dish which was good since cable was down for repairs, however since cable is only a dozen satellite channels it didn't really matter. Fair to good WiFi. Fair to poor Verizon 3G/4G coverage (intermittent and slow).

Very friendly owner and staff. Park has a few permanent residents but was clean, well maintained and right on the Klamath River. Although next to Hwy 101 there was no traffic noise. Our daily rate was half the normal rate apparently because the owner took a liking to us. Park is great for fishermen and convenient to the local redwood parks but the nearest supermarket is at least 15 miles away. We would stay here again. We camped at Chinook RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park has a great location right on the river. The sites are level with grass and the hook ups are centrally located. We had a pull through which was very large with no issues. The laundry was OK and did have a clean clothesline. It is an easy on/off the highway and centrally located to enjoy the Redwoods. The rate is for PA. We camped at Chinook RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

$15 is the Passport America rate. Daily rate includes cable, Wi-Fi and electric with 30 amp hooks. We stay at this park on the river at least twice a year. Love it. It's busy during fishing season, but very quiet when we pass through the area (spring and fall). Quick in and out off the Redwood Highway and the camp host is very easy going. Groceries are 30 minutes away in Crescent City and the sites are all grass so if those things bug you this may not be a good choice. Otherwise, it's excellent value for the money$$$. Overall Rating:

This is a nice basic RV park right on the banks of the Klamath rive. The sites are grass the roads are gravel. We had a site right next to the river and had great views and the site was level. Their wifi worked well as did Verizion MiFi. They have a club house with tv and some books. As I said this is your basic RV park in a great area. Apparently this place rocks during salmon season but when we were there we got winter rates and a PA discount of 50%. The only complaint I have is the showers. While they were clean, had great hot water with plenty of pressure they were small. They seemed like they were smaller than the one in our MH. I'd stay there again it's a great place to check out the Redwoods. We camped at Chinook RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Good wi-fi. The office personnel is GREAT and helpful. If you have AT&T phone or data you will NOT get service here. They will loan you the office phone if you need to make a call. No real close place for a good restaurant, but just down the road in Klamath is a bar called Country Palace that serves a darn good burger--'old bar charm'. Close to Trees of Mystery which is worth a trip AND has a good restaurant called the Forest across the street. This RV park is mainly for fisherman, but can be used as a nice spot to explore the area. All sites are full grass, no gravel, or asphalt. Would stay here again for a few nights but not a full week. We camped at Chinook RV Resort in a Motorhome.
