The park itself was a nice quiet place. The staff was friendly. The showers and the bathrooms need some extensive cleaning. I don't mind if things are old, but a good cleaning is needed. Laundry consists of one washer and one dryer. Good price, we used a PA discount. We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed every minute. This is our 3rd trip in 6 years and each one is better than the last. There are new improvements each time we arrive. This time they are adding outdoor games such as horseshoes. The playground for children is a nice touch. Management personnel are very helpful, as are the workers. Compliments to the cooks for the Saturday night BBQ. Food was awesome as was the local band that played through dinner and afterwards. The only negative is they don't sell their "Secret Recipe" for the BBQ. Thanks for a great week. We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Motorhome.

The rate is Passport America: Cute small park currently undergoing some renovations due to some flooding in the area - It has been an extremely wet spring here in northern California. So there were no bathrooms or showers available. They did offer an outhouse if needed. The only area open to RV's was the "Mesa" area - so upper level where it hadn't flooded. There are only about 20 sites up here and about 8 are taken by full timers. You couldn't ask for nicer or more helpful management and ownership. The "helper" guy was available when we arrived with reservations and in contact with the owner to guide us to our site - which we could pick from available sites. The owner stopped by as we were headed to our sites to introduce himself and tell us about the area. Later the Manager stopped by to introduce himself and make sure we were happy with everything. They told us about some local sites to see - a loop drive nearby that provided some spectacular views of the coast and the old Army Radar Station on the coast here. The park is above the Klamath River - no access to the river that we could see - maybe in the lower section which looks like it is more for tent camping. The sites are fairly level, the power is good and the cable is just OK but we were able to get a Direct TV satellite signal easily. The Wifi was very slow and sporadic. Mostly I used my Verizon 4G which was good. The water faucet is so low that it was difficult to get my pressure reducer and hose hooked up without kinking my hose or having it dip into the mud. There are some good sites to see in the area so this is a good stop for a couple or 3 nights. In the summer they have a Bar B Que on Saturday evenings that the locals say is fabulous. We are here too early for that. We would stop and stay here again if in the area. We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to take the Alder Camp Road Loop - ask the management if you are not sure where it is. Trailers and Motor homes not permitted on the loop. Trees of Mystery are worth the visit - take the aerial gondola - great views. Go south to Elk Meadows and drive the Bald Hill Road to the Lady Bird Johnson Grove of Redwoods.

Thank you for the kind words, Nimo.
Actually Kamp Klamath does not have any "full timers". We do, however have a number of workampers in RVs.
We have recovered from the flooding and have made lemonade from lemons by doubling the size of our vegetable garden with newly deposited silt, adding thousands of square feet of new grasses and completely redoing the bathrooms and showers, including a new roof.
River access [we have 1/3 of a mile frontage on the Klamath River] is through the Meadow below our redwood dining deck.
We have also replaced the flood-damaged WiFi components.
Thank you for the heads up on the faucets...We will raise them in late May.

This is what camping should be. Rustic with, no highway noise, water, electric, sewer hookup. Friendly staff. They monitor who's in the park. = security. Interior roads were a bit swamped with all the March rain. But your in redwood country. & redwoods thrive on rain. If we're in the area again- will stay here again. We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff are great. The manager was the most friendliest manager I have met in my 27 years of camping. They show you your campsite and make sure you have what you need to get setup. They help you find the local tourist attractions. The campground is well rounded with things for the kids and a large open area for throwing softball, etc. Tent camp or trailer camp this is the place to go.

They hosted a Saturday night dinner with fresh caught salmon and BBQ chicken. Also, live entertainment. We made friends at the dinner and had a great time!

We plan on going back on our next trip. We have already recommended it to everyone we know that camps, and our good friends are going there in September. We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed a week in the glen. Across from the big play area for the kids. Good base camp the Trees of Mystery and other beautiful areas. All in all, it is a decent facility. However, the single men's restroom was dirty most of the time probably because there is only ONE restroom/shower for entire park. Also there is only ONE washer/dryer (good price at $4 compared to Crescent City). For some reason they kept the large trash can locked. Lastly watch for the free range chickens! They leave deposits on rugs. Might as well not have WiFi as it only works to text, sometimes. We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Thank you for your review.
There are some corrections I wish to submit:
We lock the large trash dumpster to prevent bear intrusion. We do provide 24 unlocked bear-proof trash receptacles throughout the park.
We have installed a new WiFi system by Cisco. While service is much better, we are still limited to Hughes Net satellite service.
We have multiple showers and bathrooms in our services building.

The park has a tight entrance road. Sites are all backin, and relatively short. Only 30 amp. It's close to the Coastal Drive, a 1-way through some Redwoods, and along the coast, with overlooks along the way. Not paved, but a great drive. WiFi was average. Cable was good. No cell phone service for AT&T. We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pros: Very picturesque and secluded surroundings. Worth the drive off 101. Friendly staff on the grounds and in the office. Good selection of supplies in the "store". We stayed for a week sightseeing the shore and the redwoods. Salmon/Chicken BBQ on Sat. definitely worth the fee. Local talented singer and nationally known saxophonist entertaining during dinner. Needs improvement: WiFi almost useless. Was told it was being "upgraded". Our back-in site was on the side of a bank and the sewer hook-up was uphill, hard to dump our tanks. Then, there are the free range chickens and their droppings. Campers are asked not to harass them, but they were everywhere. Messy! We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Motorhome.

Take a side trip to "Victorian" Ferndale. Quaint village Main street. Several blocks of restored homes surround the center of town. Try a meal at "The Victorian Inn". We enjoyed the seafood pasta.

We stayed here at the very early beginnings of spring. Winter cleanup was ongoing. Still the staff was friendly and helpful, even got us a 30 amp converter when ours turned out to be missing in action. Very scenic, peaceful and quiet. Not as much water view or access as we expected, but it was close enough. Redwoods and Pacific Ocean were a feast for the eyes. We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Crescent City is just 20 miles away with some really good restaurants and a WalMart. You can buy very fresh seafood from stores on the docks or direct from the boats. Trees of Mystery is about 10 miles away and lets you get up close and personal with the giant Redwoods. Great value for the price of admission. Between Kamp Klamath and Crescent City are several beautiful ocean vistas as well as access.

We arrived at Klamath Kamp without reservations, and got a pull-thru full hookup site for two nights. The camp wi-fi is free, but since it is shared HughesNet satellite, it is very slow.
One disappointing thing: there is no views of the Klamath River from the park. Other reviews may claim they had river views, but not at this park. The staff was friendly and helpful. The sites are well spaced. Our rooftop satellite dish was able to get a signal over the trees. Enjoyable stay. We paid $34.50 a night. We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Motorhome.

We really enjoy rustic camping, but with our 45 ft motor home, not many campgrounds can take us. The owner and staff at Kamp Klamath went out of their way to make sure we would fit...and fit we did! A one week stay turned into 2 weeks. The Sat. night Salmon BBQ was so outstanding we had to stay for the next one. There is so much to see and do in the area along with outstanding fishing and beautiful rivers, Kamp Klamath is hard to beat. Can't wait to return. We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Motorhome.

This RV park is located right on Klamath river with a beautiful view of river and redwoods. The restroom and showers are clean and you can get general grocery items in a mile. The only issue is you have the fire pits are shared between 2-3 sites, each site doesn't have its own fire pit. Rest all is fine and we enjoyed our stay here. The staff was courteous to shift us from our earlier campsite to another one that had a fire pit. We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Tent.
