Beautiful location along the river. We got to see sea lions, seals, and river otter. Grassy sites which is no problem, but after days of rains it did get a little slushy. Management and staff extremely friendly. We even joined them for a campfire before they close for the season. My understanding is that it is new owners and they are making several improvements. Wifi worked fine but maybe due to the park being almost empty since end of season. No AT&T cell signal at all. But our phones have wifi calling so it was not an issue. Only warning is the entrance to the park is a pretty sharp turn and down a hill, but manageable. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Just down the road is the Newton Drury Scenic Byway. Not to be missed. Several pull-offs to view the redwoods. We spotted a herd of elk. The drive-thru tree is one exit north of the park. I learned the hard way that a 2007 Dodge 2500 will not fit thru the tree. I had to back out and broke some of the plastic on the mirror - but still got the picture :) Take a drive down river from the RV park and take the Alder Camp road and then the Coastal road for some great views.

We were here Sept 29th, 2016, all the kids are back in school, we stayed three nights. Lots of room. Every thing well groomed and clean. Check in office includes some food, snacks and accessories. We were here a few years ago in the Summer, we liked it then, and continue to like it. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wonderful owners and staff. Grounds well kept and lots of flowers. Staff takes pride in the campground. Fresh coffee all day. Sites are a little close. Our awning almost touched the neighbors slide. Nice setting along the river with woods on the other 3 sides. Even though it is a little close, neighbors were friendly and chatty. Will stay here again when in the area. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Motorhome.

The new owner continues to take care of the beautiful landscaping and clean interiors of all community rooms. However, a big improvement - he has vastly improved the wifi signal and is very friendly! We felt very much at home and loved our relaxing stay even. We come every year for salmon fishing with our family and we are looking forward to our 2017 visit. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Some sites right on the Klamath River but very small spaces and close together. Our little slide out opened to within a few feet of our neighbors picnic table and our awning if deployed would come to a foot or so our other neighbors. Not pet friendly. Only one dumpster for the whole park. Very inconvenient. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

If I were to stay here again I would skip the river view spaces and get one at the rear of the park. Much quieter and closer to park facilities.

The only "ding" in my opinion is how close together the sites are. Otherwise it is one of the cleanest campground that we have ever been in. The owner is working very hard to keep it that way. Utilities were well placed, wifi worked fine, laundry excellent. Having a river view site was well worth the extra few bucks and we would certainly enjoy staying there again if passing through the area. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Having read the reviews, we knew that the spaces were close together... they are indeed! We paid an extra $5 per day for a 'river' view and we were glad we did. We had travel trailers on both sides of us and we were so close together that you could hear your neighbors talking inside their rigs (even with the windows closed).

The full hookups worked perfectly and the bathrooms and showers were well maintained and spotless. We also used the laundry facilities which worked well ($2/load of wash; $2/dryer).

The wifi was just okay... pretty weak signal that wasn't consistent. The cable TV included 12 or 13 channels.

All of this said, the view of the Klamath River was magnificent and we were really glad we stayed here. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The site seeing in this area is fantastic. The Klamath Beach overlook is nearby and definitely worth the short drive. The Prairie Creek area is close by. We visited Fern Canyon and the Tall Trees Grove as well as the Trees of Mystery. For food, check out the Forest Cafe (across the street from Trees of Mystery) and the Log Cabin Diner (in Klamath).

Good size sites all grass. Well away from Hwy 101 road noise. Right on the Klamath River. Staff keep it very clean. My only suggestion is to make sure you hit a store before you camp here as this park is very isolated. Beautiful setting right on the Klamath River. Great home base for Redwoods camping. Wifi and cable tv for a small extra charge. We stayed here with RPI discount. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here 7 days in a motorhome. This park is next to the Klamath River with great views. I would not stay here without a discount. They charge extra for everything cable, wifi and $10 if you want to wash your motorhome. Grass only no pads. Although they allow dogs, they don't offer poop bags. Check or Cash only if you use a discount. Not a park for a traveler trying to keep expenses down. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Expensive unless you have a good discount. They charge for everything. If you want cable or wifi there is an extra daily charge. OK to wash your motorhome but they charge $10. Dogs allowed but no poop bags provided. I ran out while there. Must pay cash or check only with discount. On good note, It is next to river with beautiful views.

Nice little rv park right on the Klamath river with a great view of the river. The parallel spots are a bit close with no pad, just grass so could be messy in the rain, according to the cg map, the sites could be end to end with other units in the busy season, although that never happened while we were there. The utilities were 30 amp (no 50) and worked fine. They ask that you not use your washer because of their septic system so that was a downer for us as we like to use our own (that's why we have one). However they do offer a laundry at 2.00 per wash.

The Price is Passport America, so without this discount we feel it would be quite an expensive stay. There is a 2 dollar a day charge for cable and 2/day for wifi. They also offer wood for sale, but we never ask about it.

There is a sharp right turn, but we had no trouble whatsoever with a 40' fifth wheel. We would stay here again, but also may try others. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park. Everything is immaculately cared for. Level grass full hookup 30 amp sites. Right on Klamath River and close to Hwy. 101. Would stay here anytime.

Only downside is EXTREMELY sharp right turn to enter (left to leave). Not really anyplace to turn around if you go past to eliminate this problem. 5th Wheel should be no problem. 40' and above Class A's must negotiate closely. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Motorhome.

As others have written, the setting is spectacular with views up and down the Klamath River. Way off the highway and very quiet (except for the morning ritual leaf blower which was annoying). It is a bit more expensive than many of the other parks in the Klamath area (ours reflects a Passport America discount plus $5 for a river view site), but it seems to be by far the best. The other parks either are right on 101 or not on the river or junky. We extended our stay because the park is so nice and it is located right between two of the major state/national park areas and is a perfect location for sightseeing. Crescent City (20 miles) is the nearest decent grocery store, but worth a visit anyway for its local attractions. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate shown is with Passport America. This is an absolutely beautiful campground. The sites are on a blanket of green grass. Sites are a little tight but nothing out of the ordinary for CA. The park overlooks the river with a wooded mountain backdrop. The entrance is a pretty tight turn but we managed it with a 40' fifth wheel no problem. We made a few trips back & forth to Crescent City. The ride is breathtaking - right through the big, beautiful Redwoods. There are also many viewpoints to stop off and overlook the Pacific crashing on the rocks. I would highly recommend this area and this park. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is definitely a 10 from the view standpoint if you have a river site! The park is very nice, clean, large pull-through grassy sites and very quiet. While the sites are very long, they are very, very close together. We would not have had room to extend our awning, if necessary. There is a charge for the Wi-Fi and when I went in to pay, it was not working. The Verizon service is very weak. I also would like to see recycling bins. But all that being said, it looked to be the best park in the area and we would definitely stay here again. We enjoyed watching the seals out in the river catching fish! Great stop while visiting the Redwoods. We camped at Klamath River RV Park in a Motorhome.
