This park is along the freeway, so noise is an issue. It's very clean and it has a very nice pool (though a little small). The big problem here is the format of the campsites. They are arranged in a kind of plus sign pattern. It's an intriguing design which I think could work well for a crowded urban RV resort.

Unfortunately, the limits of each site aren't well marked. So, you can't really be sure of where your site ends and the adjacent one begins. I apparently parked my trailer over the line into an adjoining site. I found out, after I was set up, that I was over the line from one of the employees. My neighbor didn't complain, but I felt guilty. Would it be too difficult to paint lines on the blacktop? Is it too difficult for the check-in staff to make each customer aware of the limits? If you camp at the San Diego RV Resort, I suggest asking about limits and ask for a site as far from the freeway as possible.

A positive for this resort is its close proximity to the San Diego Trolley station. And, if driving, it's very centrally located in the metro area. All utilities are stable and the staff is very nice. The sites are generally short, so your tow vehicle must park next to your site or on the street. Overall, I would probably stay elsewhere if I could. But if this resort is your last "resort" (haha) then it's not too bad. We camped at San Diego RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent staff, helpful, courteous, professional. Clean pool. Gravel or concrete parking pad, almost level. The parking spots are 'bare bones' and are very tightly fitted in giving not much privacy, surprisingly not too noisy either, considering the light rail track is on one side and a highway is on the other. BUT they are close to a trolley station to get you into town, or to the zoo specifically. We camped at San Diego RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you need a quick market there is one just past the trolley stop. Going out the gate at the far west end towards the trolley/train stop there is a 7-11 and Shell gas station about one block away.

We stayed here over the weeekend as other parks were full. The park is clean, pool area is really cool, TV room was nice and clean and recently updated. Bathrooms are dated but clean. Two issues that i had that you may or may not. 1. The neighbor is a long timer, with a lot of junk outside of their unit. Their dog barked all day long when they were out of their unit. I talked with the management, and they said they would handle it. Nothing happened... 2. We had an ANT INVASION at our spot. There were thousands of ants on the ground of our site. By the morning of day 2, we had hundreds of ants INside of the motorhome. The neighbor on the other side gave me ant spray to put in and out of the motorhome (an indication of the massive infestation they have here.) The management didn't seem to care about the issue. Bring ant spray with you and spray around all of your tires, jacks, hoses, etc when you pull in. We beat it out of here quickly. We camped at San Diego RV Resort in a Motorhome.

For the nightly rate, even just a picnic set or table would be a welcome addition. Kind of shocking that there was NOTHING on the concrete patio. The site was quite small and not level. Interior roads and gates are VERY tight. Nicely landscaped with mature palms and other trees and shrubs. We camped at San Diego RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We spent two weeks in late August. The place is actually two sites separated by a creek. Mostly long term customers with moderate in and out. Internet is by Tengo. Free is limited in speed and data per 48 hour period. $12.99 per week for nominal 5 Mb/sec download speed. Unstated in the offer is that it throttles to 3.3 after 1 Gb usage and down to 2.7 after 2 Gb. It is not as reliable a pay internet should be but the Verizon LTE is strong in this location if you use that to stream. I would say the sites felt tight for big rigs such as mine but I'm getting used to that on the west coast. I would stay there again if needed. Other parks/resorts on the water are very high priced and crowded with people. I wouldn't describe this as a resort of any kind as there is no play ground or dog run and really nothing to do in the park. It's more like a semi permanent trailer park than a resort. We camped at San Diego RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed in San Diego area for 4 days and needed a spot to use to get to the attractions. This is right off I-8 and very busy, crowded facility, we moved in Sunday before Labor Day, all back in spots and very tight fit. While clean and neat, there appeared to be many permanent residents. Cable and WiFi worked great once we had the converter boxes. We were pleasantly suprized at how quiet with all the crowd in the facility. We camped at San Diego RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a older park with small narrow spaces. Looking around the park you don't see many newer RV's I have a 38 foot with 4 slides and barely got it into the spot. Unhook your car before heading to your space as the narrow roads and turns make it very tight. Bring your own Internet or pay $4.00 a day for internet uses. Over priced at $80.00 dollars. The rate is based on monthly. There was good reception for Verizon 4g. We did not try the wifi. There is a lot of full time residents that live in the park. The bathrooms are cleaned daily. The laundry was the most expensive of any place we have ever stayed. There is a nice pool and gym at the park. The maintenance does a good at trying to keep the grounds looking nice. At night there is security patrolling the park. One of the nice things about the park is that it is easy to get around San Diego from its location. There is a Tram stop outside the back gate. Over all the park is older, but is a great place to see San Diego from. We camped at San Diego RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is very close to the freeway. So close there is quite a bit of road noise. This is probably why they only allow RVs (no tents). It is also very near a San Diego Trolley stop (Green Line). You get a special key that gives you access to the bathrooms, pool, jacuzzi, and gate that goes to the trolley stop. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and very warm. My kids loved the pool. There is no playground. The sites seem to be mostly permanent residents. The folks are nice and the campground was clean and tidy. Our site (99) was a back-in level gravel pad for the RV with a concrete area next to it. No fire rings and no picnic table. The sites are quite close to each other. The location is very convenient for seeing the sites of San Diego. We camped at San Diego RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Some good sites, some not so good. Lots of permanent or semi permanent guests. Excellent access to the electric trolley system which we used extensively. Noisy neighbors apparently doing car maintenance 3 days in a row. Would probably not stay here again. We camped at San Diego RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for two nights. We got in very late - close to 1:30 am, and they had a night guard on duty to show us to our spot. Very pretty park. Our kids enjoyed the pool. Wi-Fi worked great. The laundry closes at 10 pm, which wasn't convenient for us. Perhaps the best feature is that it is right next door to a San Diego trolley stop, which we were able to take to the San Diego Zoo. I would stay here again. We camped at San Diego RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is not what I would call a resort by any stretch of the imagination. There are two sides to this park. The gated side which is very clean and nice and the ungated side which is not, but that is where the pool and amenities are. If you stay on the good side you have to walk out the gate and down the frontage road 100 yards to get to the office and pool. You are right on Highway 8 so traffic noise is high. The non gated side (where our first site was supposed to be) is run down and has a lot of perm residents with some units in ill repair. The gated side is mostly transient big rigs and longer term folks who take very good care of their sites. It is also secure which is important because this is not the greatest of neighborhoods. Roads are tight coming in through an older neighborhood. Alavarado is a very narrow frontage road and the entrances are narrow and unmarked as well. This is a very expensive park for what you get. Sites are small and tight for the most part but there are a few that have grassy areas. Good utilities. No cable on the gated side. The SD Trolley (rail) is nearly in the complex so if you want to visit parts of San Diego via trolley you can go almost anywhere and even to Tijuana for a few dollars.San Diego has generally poor and overpriced RV options. We lived here for 10 years so you pretty much take what you can get. This is not a bad stay at all if you are on the gated side and don't care about the pool. Otherwise I would pass. At $90 per night it matches the most expensive rate we have had on this 6,000 mile trip. We camped at San Diego RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The best thing about this park is it’s on the San Diego Trolley line with its own gate to the station; the bad thing is it’s next to I-8. We had one of two pull-through sites, gravel parking was good with a cement patio and nice grass area. The BAD thing is people with dogs used the other pull-through site and its nice grassy area as the general potty stop for their dogs. NO ONE in the park said anything to them about it and for this reason I would not use this park again. No animal control at all, NONE. If you do have dogs learn to respect others. Other than this it's a nice park to use to visit San Diego. We stay 4 nights and used the trolley with a 4 day pass. We camped at San Diego RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very tight park. We had a premium back in site, which is the only one that would accommodate a 45' motorhome. We still had to park our toad on the street as our coach filled up the site. This is a marginal park for big rigs. It is tough turning into the park and getting through the gate without rubbing the side with bushes unless you swing way wide into the oncoming traffic lane. The park is split into the zones separated by a water feature. So if you are in the eastern part of the park, and you want to use the pool and amenities, you must go out the gate, walk down the busy road and into the main park. The one thing this park has is convenience. Close to the 8 freeway and close to the light rail. They give you 4 consecutive hours of Tengo internet free, then you pay. An okay park with a lot of caveats. We camped at San Diego RV Resort in a Motorhome.
