We decided to use this park as an overnighter. The previous reviews made it sound ideal. Access to the park from I-5 is good. The road to the park is a bit narrow (no shoulder) but not a problem. Parameter roads are paved and plenty wide. Sites as asphalt with a sheltered table, fire pit and services to the left rear. All well placed. The park is very well laid out. So far so good. This place could be a ten. Now the bad. We have never felt so uncomfortable in all our years of traveling. There are so many permanents here and they appear to be destitute. Small, very old travel trailers full of junk (no tow vehicle in sight). There was an old Class A with a chair on it's roof, kids toys strewn everywhere, the hood was propped open with wires etc hanging out and the smell was disgusting. We would not walk our dog near there after one turn! There are people living out of cars. This is a scene out of Deliverance. I understand that some folks are down on their luck and need a place to stay but the Host needs to step in and get the placed cleaned up. There was also quite a bit of doggy do around. We did not see the host at all. There are no restaurants or stores within walking distance. This gem is a disaster! We paid $26.00 (inc $1.00 for the dog) and will not return. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Motorhome.

If you do stay here, do not leave any of your property unsecured. We noticed a young female eyeing our bicycles and cooler as she strolled by a few times.

We found it clean and quiet and surrounded by farms. We needed to find a good layover spot on our trips north and this is definitely going to be one of them. We found our site well set up and very usable. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a hidden gem. Well away from any traffic noise, a very peaceful spot on the San Joaquin river. We were here off season and enjoyed our stay. Camp is below a river levee so you don't have a river view. Least expensive we found in the whole area. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Motorhome.

County park $25 rental $10 service fee for county. Restrooms clean Showers have VERY short hours. Walk way to them is dirt not good when it is raining. It is right on the San Joaquin River with a boat ramp. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Motorhome.

This used to be our favorite spot in the area but has continuously gotten worse. It is a small county park and not all that big rig friendly! The narrow access road past the school has 2 trees that encroach on the road and if you meet someone or are not watching you will scratch your rig. Although you can negotiate the park with a little effort, they do not trim the trees regularly so again you can scratch your rig. As you leave the park on the access road there is another tree that will scrape the top. I have reported all of these things several times and no action. Used to feel pretty safe here, but getting worse. Pull throughs (3) work well for larger rigs. Some of the sites are not very level so choose carefully. We decided to go to French Camp after this and while it says it is not big rig friendly there, it is much better than Dos Reis. Some power connections have shown a fault on our device. Sometimes the sewer connection overflows while dumping. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Motorhome.

This pretty county park is a favorite stop of ours. It is easy access from the interstate but is far enough that there is no traffic noise. There is lots of grass and beautiful shade trees. There are 25 spots with a couple of larger pull thrus. The bathroom situation is the biggest negative to the campground. The toilets as of this date are out of service. The shower is disgusting and we will not use them. There are supposed to be camp hosts on duty, but we have not seen anyone.

The sites are spacious and spaced for privacy. There are a multitude of birds. With a little work on the bathrooms, this would be a real gem. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at this park many times on our travels up and down Hwy 99. The lady who ran it (Liz) retired. The hew hosts are nice enough but they have 2 German Shepherd dogs that bark incessantly whenever you get remotely close to their residence. We are early risers and walk and the dogs put up a terrible racket for the other campers who choose to sleep in. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

For one night, it was not bad. The park is small but can accommodate big rigs, there are a few pull-throughs. Easy access from the Interstate. As we drove around there appeared to be several reserved but on closer inspection, these were for the previous days. It was very quiet. The host lives in a home at the park. Seemed like there were a lot of flies. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Camp site was very even but the trees needed to be trimmed back. It was extremely windy here and because the fire pits were so shallow we were afraid to build a fire for fear that the embers would fly across the fence into the large field behind us. Calling the San Joaquin a "river" is generous. Also dog droppings needed to be picked up in the field. The trees were lovely and there is a great park for the kids. Very close to the freeway so good for a stop over, but not an extended stay. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

One of the best kept secrets of California. Extra clean campground. You can see I-5 traffic, but do not hear the noise. River close by for fishing. The sound of the birds sounds like your in the tropics, wonderful to wake to every morning. Will love to come back for much longer visit. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Quiet, and well away from freeway noise. There are only a few pull through sites and be extra cautious backing into some of the sites because of the trees. A bit awkward with our 33 foot RV but worth the effort. Did not use the bathroom facilities. A great regional park and we will plan to stay here again. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy access off I-5, very quiet during the week with good spacing between sites. River is just on the other side of the levee with a good walking trail on top of the levee. Good connectivity for Verizon MiFi. Reasonably priced park with FHU, very unusual for California. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an excellent park. As always we check out RvParksReviews before going out and the reviews for this park are correct. There are beautiful, mature trees for shade, a nice breeze and wonderful sites. We will definitely come back here again. We did not use the facilities; so we cannot comment on those, but everything else was clean and neat. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stay at this lovely park about once a year. This year it was as pretty as usual in the spring. There is hardly ever anyone here which only adds to the peace and quiet. The on-site hosts keep a keen eye on the comings and goings, so you feel safe and protected. The park is close enough for any shopping you need and far enough away from any freeway noise. The showers are funky, yes, but they are doable and the peace and quiet more than make up for the plumbing. We will be back. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice and treed campground next to the river allowing for nightly walks on the river levee and great sunsets. Good access to Costco for gas, CVS pharmacy for prescriptions, and a Bass Pro Shop for kicks. Never been to one, but it's worth a walk through, especially if you need some camping or fishing gear. The low rating is because the bathrooms needed a good scrubbing and the showers were unique (and not in a good way). The shower head is mounted in the 8 ft high ceiling and the low water pressure makes getting a good cleaning difficult. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.
