Considering that this park has no nearby competition, they do an excellent job. Upkeep is good, lots of nice green grass, great trees (especially in the fall when the colors are out), etc. Our site was spacious and level, and was a pull-through even though the exit area was just grass (no gravel). There are State Parks and similar in the region (no services) but if you want services, this Park is centrally located for many activities (see tips). We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lee Vining is central for Eastern Sierra hikes, mountain lakes, Mono Lake, Bodie (ghost town) and Devils Post Pile (40 minutes south) and June Lake. It's also just 25 minutes from Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite. Getting an RV site in Tuolumne Meadows is like pulling hens teeth: much easier to stay in Lee Vining and drive into Yosemite.

This feels more like a campground than an RV park. You park on dirt and have grass around the site. They water heavily in spite of the water restrictions. Lots of trees but sites 1 - 10 are satellite friendly. Fairly level sites. Picnic table at each site. It is located in a very small town with not much choice in eating places. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out the South Tufa viewing area on Mono Lake.

The only thing good about this park is it is close to the National Park. We called Mono Vista to check on FHU site length, but the site was way too small when we got there. When we tried to ask the Mono Vista staff about changing to any available non-FHU to fit better, the staff appeared confused about what sites where available and then got very rude. Mono Vista is behind a gas station and a little run down looking. The rest rooms appeared to be open to the public. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very well kept park with grassy sites. Yeah!!!. Kids, us, and dog likes grass. 50 amps. Good laundry. Right across from main Mono Lake visitor center. Pay wifi though. $4 a day. We did not use it. I got 5 bars on my Verizon phone. A great place to stay. We were here for three days. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

BBQ restaurant in town was good. Bodie Mikes is the name. Be sure you go to Bodie the ghost town.

Daily rate including tax is $39.20; they don't have a weekly rate. Park is in a great location near Mono Lake at the entrance road (Hwy 120) to Yosemite and hence is very busy this time of year. Our pull-thru site was nice with big cottonwood shade trees which helped on hot days. The utilities were in the right spot but there are electrical issues. We had problems with high voltage and the owner told us they have it set above 120 to 137 in case they have several big rigs using more electric with a/c, etc. Basic cable is free but Wifi is $4 per day. Showers, restrooms and laundry are open to the public so it was packed with hikers and campers from Yosemite and other surrounding areas. However, they are right on schedule with the 12-1pm cleaning every day; they have to with this heavy usage. It's a decent spot and there aren't many choices in the immediate area except for forest service dry camping. But electrical issues would probably prevent us from returning. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is well shaded and sites are a mix of grass and gravel. Some leveling needed. We where to stay 4 days and do Yosemite, but the Park was snowed in and we had some mechanical problems that caused us to have to depart after one day. Owners did not charge but the one night. I do what to say something about the owners. We bent a shaft on one of our slides and if not for the assistance of the owner and his brother we would have been in a mess. It was snowing, buckets, and between the three of us we where able to straighten the shaft well enough for us to move on to get it repaired. For that I thank them!!! I would stay again in a minute. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for the second time and again loved it. The park is green and most spaces are spacious. The view on Mono Lake is fantastic. Not all spaces are leveled so bring enough wood for leveling. No wood fires are allowed but you do have an own BBQ and of course a pick nick table. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Hike down to the lake, it looks tough but it is not too bad. The path starts at the visitors center which is also worth a visit. Just relaxing after a few days of hiking is also a great option here.

Paved roads, level gravel sites. Only 30 amp but with water/electric or full hookup sites. Only a few sites get satellite signal but good Verizon signal. Free basic cable, but no Wi-Fi. Lots of tall trees. Great location, can walk to stores in town. Family owned, friendly and helpful. Does not accept credit or debit cards, only cash or check. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Note; Mono Lake is interesting and park close to the Bodie ghost town, Mammoth Lakes, and Tioga Pass into Yosemite Nat'l Park.

Staff friendly, park quiet. Pull-throughs into grassy area. Lots of watering in a drought. Concerned about driving the grassy area with the watering, but was not affected. Would stay there again. Little choices in this area. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Near Toga Pass. Eat at the Wo Nelie Deli.

Very nice campground, all in all, would stay again. A bit of a drawback, laundry was expensive and since it uses propane, dryers needed to be run twice. Very pretty town, lake unique and beautiful area, and the bus runs to Yosemite once a day in the morning. BUT, and it's a big BUT, it takes 2.5 hrs to get there AND it doesn't run weekdays except in July and August! These restrictions that aren't advertised, neither at the campground nor on the brochures given out by YARTS (Yosemite Transportation...) that run the buses. So if you count on that to get you around, you might get stuck during the week without mode of transportation, and the closest Enterprise rentals are 25 miles away. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great area to visit - Lake and gateway to Yosemite - NEED transportation for Yosemite.

Expensive for what it was. Everything was just average. Clean but not immaculate. Not a lot of amenities. Wifi but only close to the office. Book swap area which we always appreciate as are avid readers. Site was mostly flat. I don't think it was good value for money. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Their "Pull Through" sites were confusing at first glance, as we had to pull across a grassy area to exit. However the place was very quiet and the staff was friendly - would stay there again. Easy access to/from park, and a great place to eat at the park entrance. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our base camp for the beer festival in nearby Mammoth. Our site was adequate, with full hook ups and a picnic bench. If you sat on the bench by the playground, you could get WiFi from the library across the road. Staff was kind and gave us a shower token each day. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here three nights. Park is near the town and a great base camp for Yosemite NP and surrounding mountain area. Site was adequate for 40' coach with 4 slide-outs & leveled nicely with small amount of tweeking. Utilities were good but water pressure seemed a little high so used a reducer. Our 3 wi-fi hotspots didn't work so paid $4.00 per day to use office wi-fi. Park has many large trees which made satellite reception difficult. Moved on last day and was able to hook-up. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

We have been here three times in a pull thru. Were there 4 nights this time. Uneven side to side (2 blocks) but nicely in the trees. We don't use sat so no big deal there. They did not hand out any info on the park so did not know they even had tv - but not that important to us. WiFi was off and on but they told me that upfront before taking my $4 / day. Would surely stay there again. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
