This park is the most dog UNfriendly park I have ever experienced. They have signs all over about no dog pooping or peeing around the park and direct you to a 6 foot by 6 foot square of dirt to have your dog do its business. But then if you walk past this area on the path out of the park, there is SO much dog doo that you cannot walk. There is no other place for your dog. And do NOT stay here if it is the least bit warm out because you are NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE YOUR DOGS/ANIMALS in your rig - You have to take them with you when you leave the park. And the owners are SO rude it is horrible. I stayed here twice - once without the dogs and once with. I didn't know how terrible they are towards animals and people and left after one night the second stay because of the rudeness and the rules about dogs not being allowed to stay behind inside your rig with the air conditioning on. The sites are not level, their "pull throughs" are NOT pull throughs because if you pull through on their grass, then they come and yell at you about being on the grass. They will not let you move your RV around under the trees to get satellite either. I would not stay here ever again. And the owners threatened me when I decided to leave after only one night and I had to fight to get my money back because we were planning on staying 5 days. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Super friendly staff, provided lots of info on area. Conveniently located in Lee Vining, overlooking Mono Lake (hence the name...) just below Yosemite's beautiful Tioga Pass. Park is quiet, despite the fact it sits right on highway 395. Most of the sites are shaded. We pulled in without a reservation, parked in site 32 (water&elec only) which was spacious enough for our 30 ft motorhome but I think it's the only one not leveled... We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very clean park, very nice staff, gravel with grass sides. Nice view, although we were on the corner, nearest the exit with a mostly clear view to the north. Wifi should be included, and if they are going to put a cable hookup at the site, it should work with at least a few channels. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a good base camp for a couple of days with a partial hookup, or make a reservation for a full hookup for an extended stay. Bodie Ghost Town state park is north, Mono lake is just across the road, Yosemite is up and over Tioga Pass to the west, and Mammoth Lakes and Devils Postpile are south, all within an hour drive. Fishing, hunting, scenery all around. Weather can be dicey, we arrived the last day of summer, and it was snowing!

We had a backin site with full hookups. Had cable but not a lot of channels. It didn't work at first but they came right over and fixed it. There is grass around the sites but they want you to take your dog to the dog walk area. That would be ok if it was a bigger grassy area but it's just a path basically. No wifi but Verizon worked and we have an unlimited plan. Laundry room was clean. You have to use high heat on the dryers and they still take forever. It's 30 minutes for $1.00 but it takes at least an hour for a normal size load. It's a short walk to the little town. Friendly people in the office. Their showers and laundry are open to the public until 6 pm. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Our experience was horrible. The staff treated us with complete disrespect and abusive behavior. They were unprofessional and rude. They used unprofessional gestures on our departure. The campground was unsafe due to bear activity and open trash cans. Do not stay here!!! We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Tent.

This is a small RV park in the town of Lee Vining, CA, near Mono Lake. We had a back in site with a gravel surface, some shade, 30 amp electric, water, sewer and cable. If you want WiFi there is a charge, $4 per day, I think. We didn't use it. We couldn't get satellite signal due to trees so we did use their cable which is somewhat weak in the quality of signal and number of channels. Bathrooms were good condition and reasonably clean. They don't accept credit cards. We paid $38.08 per night. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for five nights while hanging out in the area. The staff was wonderful. Everything was clean and well cared for. Some of the sites were very close together, but others had a bit more room between them. The bathrooms were clean. You did need tokens for the shower, but they were free for campground guests. There was always someone roaming around the sites picking up trash, watering the grass, and making sure everything was OK. We really enjoyed our stay here. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to eat at Whoa Nellie's Deli in the Tioga Gas Mart - great food. Stop at the Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center for all the great things to do in the area. Tioga Pass into Yosemite was still closed when we were there (mid-June) but we still found plenty of things to do!

Great office service before arrival, switched our one nights stay with ease and a smile. Arrived after hours to find instructions posted on office door. Space was tight, even for a 28' class A with tow but adequate and easy access to hookups of water and electric. Small view of Mono Lake, nice dog path and short walk into town. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camp is clean, grass around rv sites, don't park on the grass. "DON'T LET YOUR DOG'S ON THE GRASS" Employees are rude, talk to you like you're a 3 years old. If you travel with your pups look for a different place to stay. Won't stay here again. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our second stay here. This is a privately owned, well-managed park that is convenient to the Tioga gate of Yosemite, Mono Lake and the June Lake Loop for fishing. Was in site 10 next to the office. The first row has 10 sites and are the only ones with full-hookups. Most other sites are back-in with W/E. The facilities are very clean and in good shape. There are rules, but the owners are dedicated to providing a nice park with decent amenities. Look at the site map here: http://monovistarvpark.net/about_us Sites 40-46 are very tight with little space between but back up against an open field with good views. Arrive before dark as lighting is minimal in the park. Friendly, efficient staff. Cash/check only accepted for payment. I reserve by email and that works well. Lee Vining has groceries, gas, bait/tackle, restaurants - most of what you need. Don't forget to stop by Mono-Cone. The chocolate dip cones are mighty fine. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great home base for Yosemite. Excellent location for fishing-June Lake Loop within 15 minutes, good fishing to the north near Bridgeport. Fish cleaning station onsite. The town of Lee Vining has almost everything you need and is within walking distance of the park. The camp does have cottonwood trees so sometimes it seems like it is snowing. They do have rules for pets but overall is pet-friendly. Fuel up before you get here, gas is a bit pricier.

Very nice independent campground - grass and trees between the campsites, clean restrooms. Our site had a nice view of Mono Lake. Only gripe is that the laundry was on the expensive side - but was clean and everything worked. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Truck Camper.

This is a quiet older park. Pull thru is on gravel, but when you pull out, you drive through grass. Only problem might be if it was very wet. They ask you to only let dogs "go" in dog walk. Kind of hard to get puppy to hold it until we walk over to the specific area. No problems driving our 40' fifth wheel on their roads. We did have to unhook to keep vehicle off the grass. No problems though. We'd stay here again, but it seemed pricey. Hey, it's California, and choices were limited. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Called ahead about a FHU pull through site and was told that it shouldn't be a problem but the one day we arrived they were all taken (they don't take credit cards so difficult to make reservations). The gal at the counter had some difficulty figuring out which FHU back-in site we would fit in but fortunately there was someone else that did. The one rule she knew and conveyed was to not leave pets inside the coach. Wasn't a problem for us since it was now cool in Yosemite and we could take the dogs in the car but not sure how it would work during warmer months. The FHU back-ins have 30 AMP while the FHU pull-thrus have 50 Amp. Site was somewhat unlevel so used blocks under the low side. Didn't pay the extra charge for wifi. Cable tv worked fine. The shower tokens we were given worked fine when following the displayed procedure. The big trees were shedding their leaves but were much easier to deal with then pine needles in other parks. Quiet at night. Long dog walk trail but irritated with other dog owners that don't pick up after their dogs. Rate was for a FHU 30 Amp back-in. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

The National Forest Service Visitor Center about a mile away had a wealth of information on all the attractions and were extremely helpful. We used the RV park as a base to visit Yosemite NP, Bodie Ghost Town, Mono Lake.

Gasoline is very expensive in Lee Vining so might fill toad before arriving
