This is a small RV park in the town of Lee Vining, CA, near Mono Lake. We had a back in site with a gravel surface, some shade, 30 amp electric, water, sewer and cable. If you want WiFi there is a charge, $4 per day, I think. We didn't use it. We couldn't get satellite signal due to trees so we did use their cable which is somewhat weak in the quality of signal and number of channels. Bathrooms were good condition and reasonably clean. They don't accept credit cards. We paid $38.08 per night. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camp is clean, grass around rv sites, don't park on the grass. "DON'T LET YOUR DOG'S ON THE GRASS" Employees are rude, talk to you like you're a 3 years old. If you travel with your pups look for a different place to stay. Won't stay here again. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great office service before arrival, switched our one nights stay with ease and a smile. Arrived after hours to find instructions posted on office door. Space was tight, even for a 28' class A with tow but adequate and easy access to hookups of water and electric. Small view of Mono Lake, nice dog path and short walk into town. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Showers looked great, however they require tokens which are not available after office closes... given our 1 night stay this would be our only negative.

We stayed here for five nights while hanging out in the area. The staff was wonderful. Everything was clean and well cared for. Some of the sites were very close together, but others had a bit more room between them. The bathrooms were clean. You did need tokens for the shower, but they were free for campground guests. There was always someone roaming around the sites picking up trash, watering the grass, and making sure everything was OK. We really enjoyed our stay here. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Be sure to eat at Whoa Nellie's Deli in the Tioga Gas Mart - great food. Stop at the Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center for all the great things to do in the area. Tioga Pass into Yosemite was still closed when we were there (mid-June) but we still found plenty of things to do!

This is a quiet older park. Pull thru is on gravel, but when you pull out, you drive through grass. Only problem might be if it was very wet. They ask you to only let dogs "go" in dog walk. Kind of hard to get puppy to hold it until we walk over to the specific area. No problems driving our 40' fifth wheel on their roads. We did have to unhook to keep vehicle off the grass. No problems though. We'd stay here again, but it seemed pricey. Hey, it's California, and choices were limited. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice independent campground - grass and trees between the campsites, clean restrooms. Our site had a nice view of Mono Lake. Only gripe is that the laundry was on the expensive side - but was clean and everything worked. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Truck Camper.

This was our second stay here. This is a privately owned, well-managed park that is convenient to the Tioga gate of Yosemite, Mono Lake and the June Lake Loop for fishing. Was in site 10 next to the office. The first row has 10 sites and are the only ones with full-hookups. Most other sites are back-in with W/E. The facilities are very clean and in good shape. There are rules, but the owners are dedicated to providing a nice park with decent amenities. Look at the site map here: http://monovistarvpark.net/about_us Sites 40-46 are very tight with little space between but back up against an open field with good views. Arrive before dark as lighting is minimal in the park. Friendly, efficient staff. Cash/check only accepted for payment. I reserve by email and that works well. Lee Vining has groceries, gas, bait/tackle, restaurants - most of what you need. Don't forget to stop by Mono-Cone. The chocolate dip cones are mighty fine. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great home base for Yosemite. Excellent location for fishing-June Lake Loop within 15 minutes, good fishing to the north near Bridgeport. Fish cleaning station onsite. The town of Lee Vining has almost everything you need and is within walking distance of the park. The camp does have cottonwood trees so sometimes it seems like it is snowing. They do have rules for pets but overall is pet-friendly. Fuel up before you get here, gas is a bit pricier.

Called ahead about a FHU pull through site and was told that it shouldn't be a problem but the one day we arrived they were all taken (they don't take credit cards so difficult to make reservations). The gal at the counter had some difficulty figuring out which FHU back-in site we would fit in but fortunately there was someone else that did. The one rule she knew and conveyed was to not leave pets inside the coach. Wasn't a problem for us since it was now cool in Yosemite and we could take the dogs in the car but not sure how it would work during warmer months. The FHU back-ins have 30 AMP while the FHU pull-thrus have 50 Amp. Site was somewhat unlevel so used blocks under the low side. Didn't pay the extra charge for wifi. Cable tv worked fine. The shower tokens we were given worked fine when following the displayed procedure. The big trees were shedding their leaves but were much easier to deal with then pine needles in other parks. Quiet at night. Long dog walk trail but irritated with other dog owners that don't pick up after their dogs. Rate was for a FHU 30 Amp back-in. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The National Forest Service Visitor Center about a mile away had a wealth of information on all the attractions and were extremely helpful. We used the RV park as a base to visit Yosemite NP, Bodie Ghost Town, Mono Lake.

Gasoline is very expensive in Lee Vining so might fill toad before arriving

Nice trees, and grass. Showers were open for men and women in the same building. Had to use tokens to operate showers. Big group of bikers made up 1/3 of whole park. Across from Mono Lake. Probably wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was our third stay here. The park was clean and quiet. Showers use a token and give 5 minutes of hot water. Movies are available to rent for $2.50. Wifi is available for $4/day. We stayed 10 days and hiked in the area. Cash or check only at this park, no credit or debit cards. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We came from Bryce NP which was a long trip in itself. We arrived after hours and the only sites available for our 25 foot Class C was a water and electric back-in which was OK. The site was fairly level, gravelled and grassy, and shady which helped to cool things down quickly. There was road noise to put up with due to a nearby brush gire that caused traffic to be restricted to single lane. Credit cards are not accepted so it's either cash or personal check. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

This place was very tight for our 40' motorhome. We just barely fit into the site provided but we did fit and we quite happy afterward. It was a back in site which made the process somewhat exciting. You are pretty close to neighbors here but if you are touring the area who stays around all day. Park is convenient to numerous travel destinations one of which is Yosemite. This campground has a lot of one night travelers and tent campers which was pretty cool. Our site did not have sewer and was 30 amp only. WiFi was good but as we had trees no sat and no cable. Still all in all a good park. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is attractive, clean and the only option in Lee Vining. The big rig sites are fairly easy in and out, reasonably level and the hook-ups are adequately placed. We cannot comment on amenities because we elected not to stay based on the owner's desire to charge us an extra $5/day for our towed - which was not mentioned when we made the reservation. We have a small Freightliner pulling a 38 foot fifth wheel and a Jeep. Upon arrival, the park owner said the Jeep would not fit in our site. We asked to look at the site and determined all three vehicles would indeed fit in compliance with the parking guidelines. The owner would not accept our determination and insisted on the additional fee. The real curious thing is the park was less than 10% occupied at the time. At that point we decided not to stay and stayed at another park. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is conveniently located within driving distance to many Eastern Sierra areas. It is a beautiful day drive over the Tioga Pass into Yosemite and fishing is available in streams and lakes. The park itself is walking distance to the small area in Lee Vining with coffee shops. Our site was a pull through on gravel and grass and was mostly level with convenient access to utilities. The cable television had poor service but was available. The park has numerous cottonwood trees, which at this time of year had so much fluff that it often appeared to be snowing. While there is no enclosed dog area, there is a lovely desert walk with a nice path. The owners stress that dogs are not allowed to be left unattended in your unit which does make it difficult at times. Each side has a barbecue area but no fire pits are available. This park only takes cash or checks. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Considering that this park has no nearby competition, they do an excellent job. Upkeep is good, lots of nice green grass, great trees (especially in the fall when the colors are out), etc. Our site was spacious and level, and was a pull-through even though the exit area was just grass (no gravel). There are State Parks and similar in the region (no services) but if you want services, this Park is centrally located for many activities (see tips). We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lee Vining is central for Eastern Sierra hikes, mountain lakes, Mono Lake, Bodie (ghost town) and Devils Post Pile (40 minutes south) and June Lake. It's also just 25 minutes from Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite. Getting an RV site in Tuolumne Meadows is like pulling hens teeth: much easier to stay in Lee Vining and drive into Yosemite.
