Overall Rating:

We loved this park. The Pros: It is a long way from any population center, but the drive was very nice, the roads good and the park itself is a gem! Our spot looked out on hundreds of acres of undeveloped Western Juniper forest, mountains, and interesting rock formations. The interior roads and parking areas are well graveled and the sites are pretty level. Each site is provided with a larger than most grassy area between the sites. The restrooms and showers were clean. Resort amenities include an 18 hole golf course (including golf carts and a driving range), and a small restaurant that is open for breakfast and lunch. At the restaurant, there is both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is on a very nice deck that overlooks the golf course. Other amenities include Bocce Ball, two trails within the park, a small lake and kayaking. Likely at night is one of the darkest places in the US. The 3 days we stayed coincided with the annual Stargazers rally. The stargazers set up in an area just below the RVs and welcomed all of us to come and look through their high quality telescopes to see stars and planets in a view seldom seen anywhere else. Stepping outside of our RV at night was so beautiful with stars brighter than I have seen them in a long time and the milky way clearly visible. Through the telescopes, the views were breathtaking. The Cons: While we loved this park, there are always areas in which a park could improve. Here it was the wi-fi and cable. No cable was provided. Not too surprising so far from population centers, the wi-fi never worked at the campsite, although it sometimes worked at the clubhouse. This was not too much a problem for Verizon cell phone users as they could use their hot-spots from their RVs. Not the Resort's problem, but without wi-fi, we ATT users had no reception any place in the resort and thus could not activate our hotspots. Overall: This was a great RV park and we would love to come back next summer! We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you take highway 395 north out of Susanville, the landscape is uninteresting for the first 20 miles. Don't give up - it becomes absolutely beautiful after that, all the way to the park. Going north, if you need groceries or gas, get it in Susanville before you leave. Coming south, get groceries and gas up at Alturas.

What a gem! Big rig friendly spaces. We were just passing through the area, and found campground on RV Park Reviews. Sites were spacious. Had cell service and satellite. 3 OTA channels. Plugged address into gps and drove right to it. Lovely mountain views. They had a telescope in the office that you could borrow to star gaze. We would "likely" stop here again if we were ever in the area. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

What an absolute gem! Stopped along our route from Lk Tahoe headed to Crater Lake. The golf course is great to play. Restaurant prep'd a nice home cooked breakfast for us before playing. Sites have plenty of room with grass surrounding your gravel site. Nice views of the nearby mountain range. Peaceful with not much around the area. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Had heard about this park from friends. So glad we stopped. Decided to stay an extra day just to enjoy the awesome scenery. The golf course looks beautiful, though we didn't play. the sites are gravel and spacious. Our site had a great view. The on-site grill is open for lunch and breakfast. We ate lunch there two days and found the food to be good. The nature trail is a very nice walk with a printed trail guide, great views and benchs to stop and rest.

We stayed in an RV site, but the tent area looked very nice with grass and a playground for children.

We stayed here in a 35 foot motor home. Will definitely stay here again. Oh, forget to say how awesomely quiet this place is. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Play golf. They have clubs if you forgot yours. Go for a hike. Very nice nature trail. A 3.5 mile trail around the park. Eat lunch at the on-site grill. Sit on the patio and watch the golfers.

In the middle of nowhere, but such a beautiful location, not far off 395! There is a well marked entrance (signs and flags) to a long and winding road, but don't worry. It's not that long, the pavement is in excellent condition and although it looks narrow, a huge Waste Management truck coming the opposite way got by us with no problem. The site is on a rise, giving it great views of surrounding hills and meadows. Sites are well laid out in gravel with grass between. Utilities are well located. We don't golf, but enjoyed the friendly clubhouse/cafe, welcoming staff and a great breakfast before we departed. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is in a country setting and is peaceful and quiet. The park is big rig friendly. There is an office/restaurant combination and you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the check-in counter. Park owners were friendly. Interior roads and sites are gravel. I could see it being really dusty if there were much wind. We had a pull through, full hook up site, and all services worked as expected. This is a large park and there were less than 10 RVs in the park the night we stayed, yet most of the RVs were assigned sites right next to the other. If the park isn't full, why not space the RVs so that there is at least one empty site between each? Verizon cell and data worked well. We would definitely stay again if passing through the area. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

This place was recommended to us and I can see why now. What a great place!! It SO peaceful and quiet. We were unfortunately here for just 1 night, but we will be back. What we liked most was the peace and quiet and the unbelievable star gazing at night. We do not Golf, but if you do, it would be great to stay here. The sites have adequate space, we have site 26 which was a pull thru site, and we had no issues with the hookups. We had breakfast in the golf clubhouse and it was very good. We met the owners and they were so very nice to us as were the office staff. If you want peace and quiet and a beautiful setting with views and like to play golf you will LOVE this place, a real gem!!! I work from my RV and I noticed this place has a strong Verizon signal so I will be back. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

A very nice, positive, and unexpected surprise. We just picked it out of Woodall's and we were happy to stay in such a nice place. The setting is pretty, off the beaten path enough to be very quiet. The park was clean, well groomed. Lots of area to walk the dogs. Everything. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is our 4th stay here and it just has continued to improve over the years - really a nice park. Laundry is very small but spotless and we always use it. Highly recommend this as an overnight or few days - can't golf anymore due to shoulder surgery but course looked quite nice. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Take their Nature Walk. Nice.

See the General Store in town and buy a great T shirt along with other things. They have both diesel and regular fuel available as well. Been a family business for a long time and just a great place. Make sure you tour the basement.

Nice long gravel pull through sites with room for your toad behind or in front of your RV. Hookups appropriately placed. Grass between sites with a picnic table. Nice restaurant on site for breakfast and lunch. Wonderful views of the surrounding area. Nice golf course on property. Document of trails in the area. Not much to do around here unless you golf. We enjoyed the area, the views and trails.which we enjoyed. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this park over Memorial Day Weekend. It is in the middle of nowhere and quite a find. We don't golf, but many people were golfing and seemed to enjoy themselves. We had a pull through which was long enough to accomodate our 40 ft 5th wheel. gravel spaces with FHU. Some spaces only have water and sewer and they even have tent camping. Since it is so remote, the skies are wonderful at night. It was possibly the quietest park we have every stayed in, no road nearby and no railroad tracks. The only down side is this park was definitely built for adults. Not much for kids to do. No swimming pool, play area, etc. The park is perfect for groups as they have some circular campsites so folks can park in a circle if they are together. We will definitely stay again. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

It is remote, but there are lots of forest service lakes to explore. Our neighbors were also very successful at fishing. We drove up to the far corner and were found the scenery stunning. Good grocery store in Alturas, too. Check out the Holiday Market.

This is a fun place. Very fun, very un-Likely, a suprise. My wife and I only like driving about 200 miles per day. This is about that from Reno. It is a fun golf course. A great overnight stop, and set up well for groups! Clean, nice RV spaces, great desert sunset. Don't forget the eggs Benedict breakfast, they run out early. But the pancake sandwich is good... This is an amazing place out in the middle of nowhere. Very nice green grassy sites with tables. Level, well spaced sites for an rv park. Showers and restrooms were quite a walk from our site, 28 but clean. We had a nice view of the open hills and sunset. There is actually a golf course in back but we didn't walk over to it. This is a beautiful peaceful park and would return for sure. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for two nights and golfed one day. This is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip! GIANT sized pull through spaces, a large grass area and a picnic table are included at every site. The sites are very large and not very close to each other. The restrooms and laundry were very clean with a powerful shower (if you don't have one in your vehicle) The showers are free! This is a beautiful resort with an amazing golf course, restaurant and viewing field for the night sky. We stayed here free for two nights because we bought our new Travel Trailer from Carson City RV in Carson City NV. I indicated the 'normal' rate but you get a discount if you have AAA, or Good Sam. This resort is only about 20 minutes from Blue Lake for great fishing and kayaking. We loved this place- but there is really not much for children- no pool, no playground, no nearby activities. It's mostly for couple who want to golf at a great course and camp. They are also very pet friendly. We will be back! The only problem were the mosquitoes. Even though they spray weekly, the mosquitoes ate us alive AS WE WERE SPRAYING DEET on our bodies!! Just be aware that mosquitoes are very aggressive. Also- if you have Verizon, you will have great phone service- ATT, not so much. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great place and we have been here a few times over the last 10 years - great stop for us when going to or coming from OR Coast from Tucson area. And we have seen it grow. And done so well. Nothing fancy but just all well maintained and clean. Did not eat there but sure looked good. Have seen it add 9 holes on the golf course - I can't play anymore, unfortunately, due to hiking fall / shoulder reconstruction. Laundry is small but clean. And nice people as well. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
