I would have rated higher except for the dog situation - if you have a dog you are expected to walk very far away past an industrial building to a tiny fenced in dirt patch for their potty, that is difficult late at night before bedtime. There are huge signs all over the place that say no dogs on grass and there is beautiful grass everywhere - even a huge place on the other side of the pool where it would be perfect for a nice dog area. They really make you feel like a 2nd class citizen if you have a dog AND for all that inconvenience, they charge extra for dogs! I don't know what they are charging extra for... Also I was with a group that had reserved the club room, but the a/c was broken and it had a wall of glass heating up the room - it was unbearable and made the room almost unuseable. We were told that the a/c would be fixed in a few months?!? The park is in a good location. Wifi costs extra and they have only 3 channels on the cable tv - sports, news & drama, but at least they don't charge extra for that. Also, there is a 4 night minimum, so our group had to pay for 4 nights for a few who could only come for 2 nights, that didn't seem right, especially off-season - most rv parks have a 2 night minimum. I guess that is the way it is when there isn't much competition. We were put in a 2-rig site sharing with another couple in a motorhome who had to pull in head-on for hook-ups, which made their awning facing ours, so we shared the common space in the double site, but that was okay since we were in the same group, I wouldn't like it otherwise. Sites are dirt, no gravel or pavement except the roads. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Wedding in area so we stayed there. Arrived at noon Friday but they have a firm 2pm check in . No way I was going to drive in LA traffic on a Friday afternoon. Park attendant was nasty about us showing up early. But we found a shopping area parking lot to stay until 2pm. They called us at 1pm and told us the space was open. The Park attendant apologized on her demeaner (she was having a bad day). Great location. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Park in great shape and good location for visiting Long Beach or Southbay area of LA. Find out if space is open prior to getting there. There is no parking for RV sized vehicles in local area. Look for shopping center three blocks north and three block east of park.

Overall Rating:

This is a gated RV park right at the end of IH 710 in Long Beach. Traffic and noise minimal. The gate is always closed and locked They frequently patrol the park both day and night, and we felt very safe in the neighborhood as well as the park. The park is very clean and eye appealing. There are a few permanent/seasonal residence, their sites are very well maintained, and they do not detract from the appearance of the facility. All streets are paved, wide with grass separating each site. The pool, spa and showers are modern, spacious and clean. Both staff and patrons were friendly. The WIFI is not free. The downside to this facility is the size of the sites. Most are short and narrow and all are hard sand pads. Although they are all well-manicured, many are not level, our front wheels were about 6 - 8 inches off the ground. There is adequate spacing between RV sites but little room on your site to park a vehicle other than your RV if you are going to use your awning and sit out. All sites have a picnic table. Our last day it rained and we were in a slick sand pit. Hookups were modern and within easy reach of the RV, just a little tight for easy access between bushes and RV. We stayed 3 nights. I thought this was a little pricey at $54.00 (Good Sam discount), but then again, I feel anything over $40.00 is high. I will consider this facility again when in the area despite the above mentioned downsides. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park. Wifi was good, Cable was good. Views are outstanding. Bike paths are wonderful. We had a back in slot where our neighbors had a pull in so your doors are on the same side.. So if you like your neighbors thats a good thing.. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We visited relatives in nearby (well, 16 miles away) Manhattan Beach, and chose this park because of the ratings. What a great little park! Clean as a whistle, dead silent at night, close to the water with a nice cool breeze (we just came from 5 months in Arizona, so cool salt water breeze felt SO GOOD).

We hardly used any of their amenities other than cable TV (which was analog and pretty poor). Two things that would've made it better - 1) paved pads rather than clay/sand which stuck to our shoes like glue, and 2) pads that were not level. Our front tires were dangling in the air after we leveled up.

But everything is relative, and in this neck of the woods, good RV parks are few and far between. This place was completely full, and we'd definitely return if we ever returned to this area. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We camped here to be close to relatives in the LA area. We were surprised, pleasantly, that the park was nice. Sites were back-ins, and I was able to level the RV, although some sites look very sloped. Check-in process was pretty good. They inadvertently overcharged us, but told us the next day when I visited the office. The park is located very close to Long Bean amenities: ferry to Catalina Island, aquarium, restaurants, harbor. We don't have a toad, so used the mass transit to get around. You can catch it a short walk from the park over the 710 freeway. Traffic noise is moderate. Seemed safe. Wi-Fi worked fine with my external antenna. I would return, making sure the site was level. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nicely landscaped park right on the water. The roads were a bit tight, but doable. The park was very quiet at night. We were here for a conference, and I could pick up a free bus about a two blocks from the park that took me straight to the convention center - very handy. This is a very good spot to stay when in the LA area. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The city of Long Beach operates a free bus service to get you to many of the area attractions. Make sure you take the Hornblower boat tour.

This park is in an urban area right next to the Long Beach Convention Center. Despite that, it has a nice vibe that is very comfortable. Sites are fairly tight, but fine. There is landscaping to make things pretty. There's a nice pool and hot tub, a little store, horseshoes, and shuffleboard. It's a fairly short walk to the Catalina Express or a dozen good restaurants. It is also right on the waterfront, a bit of a jog from the bay. This park is nice resort with a Long Beach harbour. Spaces are nice, with palms and nice lawn in the middle. Jacuzzi and pool are clean. Laundry machine is just $1, the same is drying machine. We came at night and they seem to have very strict policy paying in advance, so the host visited us even at 9PM to solve the payment for nights ahead. Wifi is not for free, you pay $1 a day. But is very slow and most time non-existent. Using very nice words here. Other than that, it is very close the Long Beach lighthouse and harbour, with the bike trail right by the RV park. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

A clean, well-maintained park with lush landscaping. The office staff is efficient and welcoming, and the friendly maintenance staff is constantly working. Perfect location on the bay, and bicyclers will appreciate the extensive Los Angeles/beach bicycle trail that connects outside the gate. We did not give a perfect score because there is a charge for internet and because this was the lowest voltage we have had in 3+ years of full-timing. A real gem adjacent to lots of sightseeing. Popular with Europeans in rental RVs. Adequate size spaces, all back-ins, center ones have a big grass yard behind them. Long Beach and LA bike trails go right by the park. Management was nervous about bike theft; we brought ours in each night. Only negative comment would be about the laundry - not too clean, old machines. We did no expect such a nice park in this area. We would come back again! A hidden gem. We had a short notice 2 night weekday need to layover and surprisingly there was room for us. The park was full every night and with the exception of some noise coming from the container port that is across the river, it was quiet and comfortable. This is not a wilderness area, so the spots are close. But we expected that. Special kudos to the current host who waited at the gate for our late arrival after we called to notify using the 800 number (caused by traffic on the 405 - terrible much of the day). Coming and going "should" be made via the 710 freeway. It is a straight shot to the park vs driving in on SR22 to 7th etc. On the map, the 710 route might look much longer but it is well worth avoiding all those intersections and lights. The only improvement we could ask for is grass in the dog run. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The waterfront location makes this a great park. This park is within walking distance to the Catalina Express terminal. It is also located near trendy downtown Long Beach and 2nd Street. The spaces are a bit tight and back-in only. There is adequate room to park your tow. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The cleanest Rv park I have used so far during our 2 week trip across the southwest! Immaculate shower and restroom. Lovely small pool and hot tub (didn't use either). Had a kitchen available with full stove and sink near restrooms/laundry area. All back-ins, but each had picnic table and grassy areas behind each. Nicely kept lawn/flowers. Very convenient to downtown Long Beach, 15 min walk along bike trail along water front to Aquarium area with lots of restaurants and free bus over to Queen Mary. Bus then loops around and drops off about a block from RV park. Gated, with keypad entry from after hours. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
