The swimming pool, spa, showers very nice. The workers are committed to making your stay great. My only complaint is the site sizes are very small and very tight putting the RV in. But I will recomend this place. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights in space 50. The park is very clean and well maintained. Our site was dirt but it was raked and clean when we checked in. The slope on the site was sufficient to require me to use 6" of wood blocks on the front to get my rig level. It was deep enough to allow plenty of space for the toad in front. There is a "Dog Run", but it's too small for actually playing with your dog. You can take them off leash, but it's only a fenced yard with astro turf all over. They don't want you walking your dog on the nice grassy area in the central portion, so you have to walk them on the asphalt roadways. There is a nice park area a short walk away and the Aquarium of the Pacific is about 15 minutes walking distance. Will stay here again when we bring our grandson to visit the museums and aquarium. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

If you get a dirt site (some are asphalt), bring something to wipe your feet on before going into your RV. The dirt sticks to your shoes tenaciously.

We stayed here while attending a conference at the convention center. It's about a 20 minute walk. It's a beautiful park and the road noise wasn't much of an issue. No complaints. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed for 3 nights in site 23. Most of the other reviews here covered the important aspects re: dirt surface, back in, etc. Overall this was a nice little park, with friendly and helpful staff. The facilities were well kept and it's obvious they put a lot of effort into keeping them clean. We had a small issue with our water hook-up, but one of the maintenance workers noticed it was leaking and took initiative to fix it right away. We appreciated him being proactive and helping us out! If you're unfamiliar with this area, be prepared for a very "urban" setting. The resort is packed full of rigs and cars with no real view to speak of from your site. If you're planning to hang out at your motorhome/trailer to bbq etc. it's going to look more like a parking lot tailgate. If you're (like us) just using your site as a place to rest and shower, but plan to spend most of your time out and about in the city, it's a great location and will serve that purpose well! Note - Wifi was down due to construction as of June 20, 2018. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

7 night stay in mid-June 2018. Reasonably priced RV park with nice landscaping. The sites are clean and well maintained. Most of the sites are a hard-packed sand/dirt; there are a couple that are all concrete and a couple that are covered with artificial turf. There is a small bark park that is also covered in artificial turf. Community fire pit and several community tables and BBQs. The bathrooms/showers were clean, showers were hot. Showers are not coin operated. There is a small store with a few items you might need and a few that you might just want (like ice cream). Sites are full hookup, with a hedge between the neighboring sites and a picnic table. There are 4 sites that are nose in and do not have a hedge; this is nice if you are traveling with another RV and at least one is a motorhome. The motorhome can nose in, the other can back in. That way the entry doors face each other and there is a little courtyard between the RVs. These sites do not have a hedge. The sites are not especially large, but are definitely adequate. Folks with slides on both sides of their RV will find that the passenger side slides take up a fair amount of the free space at the site. You are allowed the RV and two additional vehicles at the site as long as the additional vehicles can completely fit on the site. Easy walk to downtown LB (WTC, Federal Building, etc.) Easy walk to several restaurants, Catalina Express and the aquarium. There is a bike/walk path along one side of the park (lagoon side). One of our camp chairs was stolen from our site that bordered the bike path; I suspect that somebody on the path climbed over the fence and took it. I witnessed the on-site staff go out of their way to assist a traveling couple from another country that ended up at the park late at night, after hours. The park was full but they found room for them to park for the night. It would have been easy for the staff to just say they were full and turn them away. Kudos! We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sites are $60 weekday / $69 Fri/Sat, with a discount for a full week. Based on the location, the condition of the park, the condition of the site, the size of the site, the overall cleanliness of the park and the kindness of the staff, and the value, I give them 9 stars.

We had a wonderful week at Golden Shores. Cost was about $360 for the week (can't remember exactly how much). We were assigned a spot that backs up onto the central grass belt - I advise that you ask for that. The other choices back up to road with no room behind the rig, or to a bike trail and kind of ugly water area. The service from the front desk and grounds keepers was excellent. The pool and spa have just been refurbished and was the best spa my wife has seen. As noted in other reviews, the sites are made of decomposed granite, so it will track into your rig if you don't have some kind of outdoor carpet to put outside your door. Several campers covered their sites with artificial grass or similar material. I assume they were staying for a month or more. We didn't have any rain, but I can see that it would be messy if it got wet. The grounds keepers rake the DG after each guest leaves, so it always looks nice. For cyclists, there is a bike trail just a few feet from the entrance. I did a couple of 50 mile rides, over 40 miles of which was on bike trail. There is also the aquarium, Queen Mary, Catalina, Presidential Libraries (bit of a drive), Space Shuttle and other attractions in the area. Our fifth wheel was 30 feet long. We were able to hang the back of it over the grass area, and park the truck in front of it. If you have a longer rig, you will probably have to park next to it. The park is 'compact' - sites are close together but have a small hedge and concrete 'mow strip' between sites which helps prevent it from feeling that you're on top of your neighbor. We have slides on both sides of our rig and there was plenty of room for them. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

There are so many things that we loved about this park, we aren't sure where to begin! Let's see...there was the incredibly loud music, the falling-down drunken guests, people walking through our site daily, the muddy sites, the extremely rude office staff, the sparsely-stocked "store", the un-enforced list of rules, the plethora of full-time residents with all of their junk everywhere, the cold heated pool, the homeless population right outside the fences, the sleepless nights due to noise, the light pollution, the loud highway right outside the property, guests using the "no-dog" areas to have their dogs poop and (this bears repeating) the EXTREMELY rude office staff. What a wonderful place! Skip it and the aggravation. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here before, liking the convenience to Long Beach, car rental, and nearby attractions and restaurants. This time we were in site #37, which backs onto the inlet with an interesting view of the San Pedro Port. From previous experience, we anticipated that our site would not be level (compacted sand), so we had to use levelers to keep our front tires in contact. I noticed many motorhomes with their front tires inches off the ground. Our particular site was not well cleaned when we arrived, and it took two days for them to come by and clean it up after our request. Otherwise, staff was friendly and helpful. We would probably stay here again if we wanted the downtown Long Beach experience. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed for a week in a 45 ft motorhome. We were able to get into our site which backed up to the inside green belt, however, the rear end of the rv hung over the grass from the rear wheels back. We were able to park our tow vehicle next to the rig. The location is fantastic as Long Beach has many attractions & great restaurants. There is nowhere else as nice in LA County for a large coach. HOWEVER, the bad news is that the sites are covered in a sandy dirt that does not drain well. It doesn't rain often in LA, but when it does, it pours. (We lived in LA for 30 years so I have experience). After a heavy rain, all of the rv sites were filled with a deep sticky sandy muck. It was slippery and very dirty. Just think about walking out the door with your dog. Needless to say, if it rains, this is an unpleasant experience. However, when it is dry this place is great. The grounds & facilities are well maintained. The pool & spa are sparkling clean. Bring a couple of large indoor/outdoor rugs to keep the sand & mud out. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Easy exit/entrance to the 710 freeway. Very well maintained park. Spaces are cleaned and raked after each departure. Staff is friendly, well organized, and knowledgeable of the area. Bathrooms/showers are continually inspected and cleaned. Very good laundry facility. Spaces are above average in size. Lots of palm trees. Adjoins a wetlands preservation pond, a stop over for migrating birds. Several restaurants within walking distance, and it's a nice walk which also takes you to a good view of the Queen Mary. Also a nice walk for your dog. One small negitive, you will be charged $1 per day per dog. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Several restaurants within walking distance. If you want an upscale eating experience try Parkers Lighthouse. Short drive to a Chipotle and Starbucks. Catholic Church, St. Anthony, at 6th and Olive-2.3 miles. Daily Mass 12;10, Sunday 9:30, 11:00 Spanish. Other times available. Multiplex within a half mile. From South 710, it's a left hand exit to Downtown. Do not exit onto 6th st. Continue by hugging the right hand curb to the stop sign. Turn right, 20 yards to the park.

Right in the heart of Long Beach, this is a good central location for visiting the area. We were in site 5 that backed up to a small hill that was topped with a ramp that led into park. The site was very tight for our 28 ft trailer and truck. If I was to return I would request an inside space or back in against fence on opposite side of park. Wi-Fi just so-so. Few channels of cable. Nice personnel. Pool looked great. Cheap laundry. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

First, there's the location which is right in downtown Long Beach and is super convenient for everything Long Beach has to offer on the waterfront including being right on a bike path. Not the fault of the park but for some reason we didn't seem to get the ocean breezes here. The sites are somewhat tight with all being back-in with full hookups. The site surface is dirt but it's not dusty. Oddly, most of the sites seem to be noticeably unlevel. Ours had a meaningful drop front to back but the levelers compensated. The park is well maintained and kept clean, including the bathrooms. There is a pool, BBQ area and laundry. The WiFi was OK with periodic failures. I have a pet peeve that is not unique to this park. If you stay exact increments of 7 days you pay a somewhat discounted weekly rate. However, if you stay 1 week plus 3 days, you will pay the weekly rate plus 3 days at the daily rate. It seems to me that the weekly rate should be prorated for the 3 additional days. After all, I assume the weekly rate recognizes that the park doesn't have to go through a site turnover for at least a week so can't the same be said for a 10 day stay? At any rate, this is a high quality park with a great location. We paid a blended average (weekly plus daily) of $50.55. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Wedding in area so we stayed there. Arrived at noon Friday but they have a firm 2pm check in . No way I was going to drive in LA traffic on a Friday afternoon. Park attendant was nasty about us showing up early. But we found a shopping area parking lot to stay until 2pm. They called us at 1pm and told us the space was open. The Park attendant apologized on her demeaner (she was having a bad day). Great location. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Park in great shape and good location for visiting Long Beach or Southbay area of LA. Find out if space is open prior to getting there. There is no parking for RV sized vehicles in local area. Look for shopping center three blocks north and three block east of park.

Overall Rating:

I would have rated higher except for the dog situation - if you have a dog you are expected to walk very far away past an industrial building to a tiny fenced in dirt patch for their potty, that is difficult late at night before bedtime. There are huge signs all over the place that say no dogs on grass and there is beautiful grass everywhere - even a huge place on the other side of the pool where it would be perfect for a nice dog area. They really make you feel like a 2nd class citizen if you have a dog AND for all that inconvenience, they charge extra for dogs! I don't know what they are charging extra for... Also I was with a group that had reserved the club room, but the a/c was broken and it had a wall of glass heating up the room - it was unbearable and made the room almost unuseable. We were told that the a/c would be fixed in a few months?!? The park is in a good location. Wifi costs extra and they have only 3 channels on the cable tv - sports, news & drama, but at least they don't charge extra for that. Also, there is a 4 night minimum, so our group had to pay for 4 nights for a few who could only come for 2 nights, that didn't seem right, especially off-season - most rv parks have a 2 night minimum. I guess that is the way it is when there isn't much competition. We were put in a 2-rig site sharing with another couple in a motorhome who had to pull in head-on for hook-ups, which made their awning facing ours, so we shared the common space in the double site, but that was okay since we were in the same group, I wouldn't like it otherwise. Sites are dirt, no gravel or pavement except the roads. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
