Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $110.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said it's the only place to stay in Malibu. We stayed 3 nights,2 were in their "low" season so we were charged $110.00 per night & $120.00 for the third. Good little store for supplies and souvenirs with good prices. Cost of doing your laundry is a different story,$3.00 per wash and 1.50 per dryer load. We opted for a mountain view back in site that just fit our fifth wheel and truck. There was only enough room left over for the picnic table and a couple of chairs. Our site still had a view of the ocean without paying for it. When exiting the park after 1 pm on the main road you must make a right turn on to Pacific Coast Highway,go about a 1/4 mile anmake a u-turn through a gas station to head towards L.A. The other option is through their upper level to a street that will take you to a set of traffic lights to make a left turn. Good selection of cable channels but wifi is slow (which is normal for campgrounds). We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to visit Malibu Seafood Fresh Fish Market & Patio Cafe. The best fish and chips we ever had. They do not serve adult beverages but you are invited to bring your own. The portions are large so go hungry. It is a short 5 minute walk from the campground. Mention that you are staying at Malibu RV Park for a 10% discount.

Overall Rating:

The view is about as good as you can possibly get, as long as you're backed up to the ocean. Make sure you request an ocean view! It's obviously a more expensive park, and they don't have much in the way of amenities, other than the wonderful views. That said, Malibu is of course expensive in general, and this is the only RV park in the area on the ocean. The staff were helpful, and there was a great little BYOB seafood place within walking distance. There isn't a ton to do in Malibu, so you'll probably want to go over to Santa Monica or some other area while you stay. There are a few upscale restaurants nearby. This place was by far the most expensive place we've stayed, but for a few days, I think it was worth the money. Would be nice if they installed a hot tub on the property though, and didn't love the dirt lots as much as some of the other surfaces we've used. The site we had was #30, which was one of the larger back in spots right on the first level that backed up to the ocean. The showers were very nice, with an anteroom where you could put your towel and other things. However, the bathroom toilets were frequently dirty, though they seemed to get a lot of use. There was also a horse shoes area and a laundry which I didn't use. We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is average at best. They get away with high prices and stay busy because of location. Spots are dirt and too close together. First, we checked in at the same time as a large class A. The sent us out the door with instructions that put us nose to nose going to our spots. The gentleman in the class A backed up to allow us to back in our spot. I go to hook up to shore power and one leg of the 50 amp has no voltage. After calling the office, I was assured maintenance would be right over. No one ever showed up, so I just used the 30 amp. Time for laundry, or should I say time to waste on laundry. Only four machines with one of them out of service for the entire park. And $3 a load, 2x what we pay in any other park. We are 2.5 weeks on the road and it's time to wash the RV. I called and asked if it was ok and if they had a preferred vendor. They said no problem, call this vendor. The detailed shows up as scheduled and starts. Then comes the call from high and mighty park manager telling me I didn't have permission and so on. For the most part your typical king of a small kingdom wanting to exercise his perceived power. I informed him that his office had in fact told me to call the vendor to get the requested service. Thru the conversation he continued to state I was in the wrong. He said it may have been ok if I was a long term guest, but not for someone only here for 5 days. Needless to say, we won't be back. It's sad, good location lets the management get away with sub par service and amenities while charging a premium. We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Price reflects weekly rate of a mountain view 30-amp electric/water site during their winter season (March). Pack 'em in like sardines! We *barely* fit into our assigned site and had to be very careful when pulling out not to clip our neighbor. I would stay here again only because it's by far the closest option to some relatives. It is a very tight park and we were only sometimes able to park our truck anywhere near our site. It was reasonably quiet during the week but turned into an absolute madhouse over the weekend. People parking everywhere and difficult just to drive an unladen truck around. Large extended families and screaming children took over the entire place. We're polite people but the manager was an extremely rude lady with some serious issues. My wife discovered a used, bloody feminine hygiene product on the floor of the shower. Luckily she noticed it in time as blood was running towards her feet. The only saving grace of this place is the views and it's the cheapest option in the wide area (depending on time of year and type of site). We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Fabulous location located high on a bluff overlooking the ocean. The view is amazing. Spaces are tight though and on a slope so be prepared with proper leveling equipment. Great store on property. First class units of all styles choosing to stay here probably due to higher than average cost. We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a 5 star park due mostly the the outstanding views. The park itself is nice and clean and the sites are larger than typical for private RV parks. It's tiered so most sites get a nice view of the ocean. I actually preferred the sites on the 2nd level because they were more private and quiet. The ones on level 1 have a lot of foot traffic but were directly on the ocean. Prices are expensive as expected. The location to Malibu, Santa Monica and LA is great. LA traffic sucks so plan your trips accordingly. Dog walks are present but short. That was the only negative, the lack of walking space for the doggos. Most beaches in the area are not dog friendly but there was a nice beach at Point Magu which allows dogs on leash. Wifi was advertised but too slow to use. Cable was good but went out for 2 days while we were there. They got a cable person onsite and got it resolved. Cell reception was great. Verizon 23d/l, ATT 27 d/l unboosted. Didn't check T mobile. 50 amp FHU was solid. Onsite laundry was very clean and had multiple large machines. Bathrooms and showers were also clean. I did not use the showers. I have read some other reviews about this park that specifically mentioned rude staff. We did not experience that. I found them to be pleasant and helpful and dealt with multiple staff members during our 2 week stay. We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

The view campsites in this park are just incredible. We had a beautiful site overlooking the ocean that was to die for. Downside was that our car did not fit on site and had to be parked elsewhere. Also the campground wifi was very spotty and my Verizon did not work well at all. Be aware that many sites in this park are not that great. Some are very very small and narrow. Yes, it is expensive, but it has one of the best ocean views in California. We have stayed here before as well. I went for a hike / bike ride in the nearby hills. It is a really nice area. Our camp was right on the edge of a bluff. There is a nice store on the campgrounds. The staff is friendly and helpful. We would return again. We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is located on a hills right off PCH. amazing views of the ocean from the park. The beach is a bit hard to walk to - had to walk down PCH a few blocks, then cross the street. Everyone who stayed here was so friendly. We had an amazing time. Pretty good cell reception (Verizon). Awesome seafood place next door (Malibu Seafood). We will definitely stay here many more times. I love this park. It's a little expensive for ocean view sites but the view are impossible to beat almost anywhere in the world. My site was technically a mountain view but I could still see the ocean from my dinette and I paid 280 for a week of partial hookup with free dump at the end of stay. Management was fantastic. Front desk staff were wonderful, neighbors were delightful. Plenty to do in the area with Malibu Seafood, a gas Mart and the magnificent beach all in walking distance. Quiet hours enforced! Will return for sure. We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed for 10 nights and had a great time. Our 40 foot motorhome was in a large site on the upper tier with great views and lots of room and privacy. Staff were all great and store is well stocked. Walk to Solctice Canyon State park with great trails and waterfalls. Beach is across busy PCH but we just hopped in Jeep and drove to Zuma only 10 minutes. Great fish restruant only a short walk from park. Will be coming back often. We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

We spent 3 nights here in a back in mountain site. The ocean view sites have a great view but a very steep drop off not advisable for toddlers. We have a 36' Motorhome and we barely fit in the site (our bumper was touching the wood wall and we still stuck out on the street a little). At check in you get a 3 minute dissertation on all the campground rules. Which is ironic because the one thing they never discuss or enforce is the speed at which people travel tru the campground. People drive way to fast and the managers seem to be ok with it. But god forbid your child brings their scooter. No scoters allowed in the park and that is strictly enforced. Sites are very uneven and fairly close together. Our front tires were a good 6-8" off the ground. We were not able to connect to the WiFi. This is definitely not a destination campground. Most people just use it as a overnight stop as they are traveling the coast and I can see why. From Santa Monica to the campground PCH it is fairly tight but manageable if you take your time. Sadly we will not be back to this one. There are other options in the LA area that are worth the extra drive. There are a good amount of permanent (seasonal) rigs most are well kept. The Pro's the view from the campground is awesome and the seafood restaurant below the campground is very good. We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

We came out to this park while touring LA. Upon arrival at the park office I asked them if we could tour the park. After dealing with three employees who basically said "We are busy and don't have time to conduct tours" to which I said we just wanted to see the sites etc. There was a discussion by the employees and it was decided we could see the sites. Then it was made known we couldn't enter any sites or photograph any sites, RV's or campers. Photograph? These people may be living in the back yard of the rich and famous but believe me, there is NOTHING worth going on this park for! Electrical is very old. Sockets are burnt and loose. Plumbing is ancient and poor. Most sewer hoses running uphill as they are placed in poor locations to the site. For $80 a night with poor electrical, plumbing, facilities and small sites along with the employees attitudes, SAVE YOUR MONEY and MOVE ON! If the view is important to you, this place delivers! We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is an older park, but quite nice. Because of ocean, lots are smaller, but they have some larger. I would suggest staying at an upper site as the view is better than the first row and you are a bit further away from the highway below and get sun longer. Sites are sand so bring a mat to sit on and keep sand out of your RV. Internet was weak, but OK if you sat outside. We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

We are in a 45 foot motorhome and were worried about getting into our site based on the reviews. It was actually pretty easy and we fit our Jeep in the site with us. The views we had were stunning. We had no issues with the utilities, everything worked fine. When we pulled up to check-in a woman came out and walked up to our rig and said "Welcome to Malibu Beach RV Park", let me check you in. That was the most impressive first impression I've ever experienced camping! We saw whales and dolphin from our campsite. The PCH road noise on the week-end was something to consider, but we were out and about most of the time. The park is very dog friendly with trails and bags everywhere. The bathhouse is recently renovated and really nice. They do need more washers and dryers though as our site didn't have sewer. We would definitely return!
