This is a large RV park conveniently located near the intersection of Main St. and Old Mammoth Road. This is one of the only commercial parks in Mammoth so they can command somewhat premium pricing particularly in the summer. There are lots of public campgrounds but they generally don't accept reservations and don't have hook ups. The mature pine trees offer the opportunity for shade at least for part of the day. The section we were in was asphalt organized like a large parking lot with RV's lined up side by side. We had water, cable, 30amp electric and fairly good WiFi. The bathrooms are reasonably clean and well maintained. Including tax we paid $51.30 per night. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were here 3 nights. This is the only RV campground we use when in Mammoth. There are 2 sections of the park - one area is behind and to the right of the office; the sites are on pavement with no trees. The rest of the park is on dirt/gravel with plenty of shade with some spaces set aside for tent campers. The location is good - right across the street from the Visitors Center and easy drive to all the lakes, hiking trails, stores and shops. Restrooms were clean and accessible only by electronic passcard which eliminates non campers from using the facilities. WiFi is decent. We had challenges with being able to get good reception with cable TV connection. Out of the 80+ channels advertised we could only get 2 or 3 channels clearly. Be aware that the office will not check anyone in before 2:00 pm. And they are strict about that time. So if you show up early you'll have to cool your heels. If you show up between 2:00 and 3:00, expect a conga line of motorhomes and trailers in the driveway. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

We usually stay in the National Forest for our visit to the area. Our favorite campground (and many others) were not open yet due to the amount of snow the area received during the winter. Let's start with check-in. We arrived about 1:20 PM, after a 7.5 hour drive. Went into office and there were 3 women chatting behind the counter. After waiting for acknowledgement, I had to actually say excuse me to ask about check-in. We were promptly told check-in isn't until 2 pm and they went back to their conversation. Keep in mind half the park was empty! Because of our dates, we had to have 2 separate reservations (check-out of site 1 and recheck into site 2 on day 6). We went to the office to make the arrangements to recheck-in, knowing we were probably going to have to move our RV, and were told check-in isn't until 2. What are we to do? Their suggestion "go sight-seeing". Cable never worked. We reported it to office on day 2. By day 6, still no cable service. (We really like watching the news for the area whenever we can.) There are 2 different types of sites, Standard and Premium. Standard are in a parking lot situation with water, electricity, and cable. Premium sites are in the wooded, dirt section and also include sewer. The standard sites are well defined with parking lines. Premium sites are not well defined. We stayed in a Premium site. Our Premium site was relatively level but the dirt roads through the wooded area had potholes. The restroom in the Premium area was well maintained. The only disadvantage to these were the showers. They had a push button that allowed water to flow for about 30 seconds. You have no control over the temperature of the water. WiFi worked the one time we connected. This campground is on the edge of town. Hospital is about 2 blocks away so you hear the sirens. Grocery is about 1 mile away. Skiing about 5 miles away. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

As others have said this park is 2 different parks. We had the misfortune of being in the parking lots sites. Cars were parked everywhere making getting in and out very difficult. The sites are extremely tight and do not leave much privacy. There is room behind the camper site and have fire pits but is very open. Only 30 amp service in this area and no sewers. Very close to town and the National Park visitors center. Probably would not stay again. Also, make sure you do not arrive before check in time because they will not start allowing people to check in before that time, no exceptions. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is showing its age, but it works for me. The paved, partial hookup sites are essentially parking spaces, but they drain well during a storm (actually experienced). If you use this as a base for excursions into the nearby scenic attractions, it's convenient and pleasant enough. As a place to hang out, though, it's not great. As others have pointed out, there are 2 distinct sections to this RV park. You have your wonderful wilderness area with full hooks up and lots of room between your neighbors, and you have your asphalt area with side-by-side spaces and no sewer. I really wished we could have reserved a full hookup wilderness site, but they were all booked up for Labor Day weekend. Still, the park was a great place to go if you're planning a trip to Mammoth. Actually, from what I understand, it's the only place to go if you want hookups.

The staff I interacted with were absolutely wonderful. When our friends that were joining us had multiple tire blowouts and couldn't make it the first night of the weekend, she was very accommodating and really cared about our situation. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is at the very beginning of Main Street as you enter Mammoth off 395. It's fairly large with two camping areas (both full hookup). One is in a wooded area and the other is located next to the wooded area on pavement. There's obviously many more trees in the wooded part, but since we stayed in Sept and the temperature wasn't too hot, we chose the paved side. Our site was #5 which had a view of the pool area and trees behind it. It wasn't completely level, but it worked out fine. There's a little noise from the street, but not bad at all. The opposite end of the park is next to a high school and there was a football game on Friday night with big lights and an announcer calling the plays. Everything was quiet by 10:00. The cable and Wifi worked well and the pool, jacuzzi, showers, laundry and grounds were well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. We weren't able to make a reservation by calling (they never answered the phone), but it wasn't a problem getting a space for two nights when we arrived on Friday. There's no onsite store (they sell some supplies, plus firewood and ice), but Mammoth has a free bus to take you all over town or you can bike to stores and restaurants. They have a dump station. We would stay here again. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

They lend movies which is a nice feature. Our site was not exactly a pull-through, but a kind of pull in/out at the edge of a road. Because we wanted an easy access site (po0r "backer-inners"), the site was not among the trees and was not a pretty site. The staff are very nice. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We organize a gathering of tent campers every year and have camped here for three years. We bring our TT because we no longer tent.

We booked one of the few pull-throughs for our TT this year. It was at the very end, near the group tenting site. We had full hook-ups, but there's a dump station that's easy to access for the sites that only have water and power.

The sites are largely in the trees, so their sizes vary. There's a gigantic overflow area that looks like a parking lot, with few if any trees. Those sites have water and 30 amp power but no sewer. Most of the regular sites have 50 amp. The main sites have picnic tables and fire rings: not sure about the overflow sites. Wifi is easy to access with the code. We didn't turn on the TV so we don't know about the cable, although it's available. Pets have to be leashed, but we saw several off-leash.

The RVs are arranged in a circle around a large central tenting area with 17 smaller tenting sites and two big group tenting ones. The tent sites are in the tall pines, very pleasant, and it's not obvious that you're surrounded by RVs. The tenting sites all have picnic tables and fire rings. The two big group sites have several of each. You will be charged for a minimum of 17 people and a maximum of 80, so if you have fewer than 17, you'll still pay for 17.

There's an indoor pool and spa, a store, code-access bathrooms and showers, a laundry room, a playground, and a dishwashing station. The park is right on the main road into Mammoth Lakes, about two miles off Rt. 395 and less than a mile from shops and amenities. It's also right across the road from the Visitor Center, which is handy.

Staff is friendly enough, but forget trying to call them. You'll probably get a machine and no one will EVER call you back. Be patient and keep trying.

Our camping group loves to hike, kayak, and bike, so this is ideal for us. Five hours from LA and four from Reno/Lake Tahoe. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was our third stay. We were in the power/water section (no sewer), which is fine for a few days. The park was clean and the jacuzzi is nice to have except this time the chemicals were so bad every day we couldn't use it. Two nights before we left, a large group rolled in at 2 am and very loudly set up camp in the adjacent spot. With quiet hours after 10 pm, I couldn't believe the park allowed people to do this. To be fair, this was the first time we had any issue with this park. We will probably stay here again since it's the only place in town with hookups. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

There's plenty of shops in Mammoth Lakes Village. During the summer, visit nearby Devil's Postpile National Monument. You will need to take a mandatory shuttle ($7.00) to get to it.

This is a great area to camp and visit. There is so much to do. The park is situated off the highway entering Mammoth Lakes. Try to book in the full hook-up area as it is nestled in the trees. The size of the sites varies as the boundaries are set by the trees. Most are easy to get into, but there are a few that you will need some back up assistance.
The park is very clean and the rules seem reasonable. As they are in the forest, you must be tending your campfire at all times. Lots of shade during the day. There is an indoor pool but no fitness facility, however there are lots of hiking trails and bike paths. Good wi-fi but our site did not receive satellite due to the trees. Some sites will receive satellite. Great cable selection.
Only gripe is the office staff. Difficult to get on the phone. The recorded message says to leave a message and they will call back. In our case, that never happened despite leaving several messages. We just kept calling until a human answered. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park appears to be run by teenagers, and rules are not enforced! At 9:30 PM a camper rode his loud motorbike in a dirt area next door churning up dust that blew all over the camp. Upon arrival I had to wait while the girl flirted with the poolboy and ate lunch meat! That was just the beginning. We asked for a space next to my mother, but they couldn't be bothered, said moving things around was too much trouble. This park is the absolute worst I've ever stayed in. There are 2 sections, spacious all dirt spots with full hook-ups, large pine trees surrounding a tent center area and then a completely paved area with painted on lines. Unfortunately we stayed in the paved part, where there is no room between spots-nothing! A rented RV next to us had more than the limit of people (8) and I kept hearing thumping like they were bumping into our trailer. One fifth wheel set up, then opened it's awning that was 4' into the next spot! That's how narrow some of these spots are. Some spots are also very short, why they would put a 35' fifth wheel in the shortest spot, I don't know. Rules say to park across your rig in front, this means weaving between trucks that are parked in the road. We left at 6:30 AM, and I was concerned we'd have to wake someone up to move their truck. There is no competition other than Nat'l forest campgrounds so even with the terrible service and horrible campground this place stays full. If you are lucky enough to get a premium site-you are right next to the tents. Tent campers are outside making noise and most have campfires. I walked my dog through there one evening and couldn't breath due to the smoke. The location of the campground is good, walking distance to town and it could be nice if they made the paved area more spacious and moved the tenters somewhere other than in the middle of the premium spots. There were some flowers planted here and there. I would never stay there again, if I could avoid it. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
