We really enjoy this campground. Lots of tall trees and grass. It is close to fairly busy highway but quiets down at night. This was our second time staying here. We camped at McCloud RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Had a back in site with a concrete slab to park my trailer on. Needed to raise driver's side of trailer 1" to level trailer. Had a gravel pad to park truck on. There was a wood picnic table at our site. My site had a good combination of sun and shade. There is a $1.00 a day pet fee. The sewer drain is raised about 6 inches from the ground. I had to work to get my sewer hose to flow downhill. There was roadway noise from Highway 89. AT&T phone service worked well. Park WI-FI allowed checking emails and writing this review. We camped at McCloud RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Nice base to see McCloud, Mt. Shasta City, Mt. Shasta Ski area, Weed and fish McCloud River. There is a small Pizza Pub just outside the Park entrance called Siskiyou Brewery Works. The is an easy walk and I liked the Pizza and homemade beer.

Pretty park with a mix of back-in, pull through, cabins and tent sites. RV sites are 50 amp and 30 amp with FHU and cable, and some 30 amp sites with water/electric only. All sites are extremely close together. Most sites are on grass without markings making site perimeter unclear. Some of the smaller sites have concrete pads. Site 79 is the only gravel site. There are a few sites that can be challenging to back into due to trees. Ask to see your site before paying, as there are no refunds given. Also, the park charges $5 for early check-in, so be aware of that. Interior roads are paved. Grass sites are watered as soon as someone leaves which makes for a wet, muddy mess for the next camper that arrives (and no mats or rugs are allowed on the grass). We stayed in site 78, a long, grassy, semi-level back-in site close to the office. Trees at the back of our site gave us plenty of shade all afternoon. Our neighbor's awning was inches from our slide outs, which was too close for comfort for us. Lots of tall trees and greenery, but no amenities here. No store on site, but they do sell ice. Dump station, garbage area, laundry area and bathrooms are all located in a central building. Bathrooms were rustic (and could use an update) with two toilets and two showers per gender. Husband said one of the toilets leaked water all over the floor. Laundry area had 4 washers and 6 dryers (1 out of order), with change machine and soap/softener vending machine. The ponds in the park were overgrown with weeds and stagnant. A narrow babbling brook runs through the property. This park has a dog curfew (they must be inside your camper from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.). Highway 89 runs next to the park, so there is quite a bit of road noise. Utilities worked well and Verizon service was good. Free wifi offered but we didn't use. Rate includes Good Sam discount, taxes and fees. Overall, a decent park but I doubt we would stay again. We camped at McCloud RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Upper, middle and lower falls are a 10 minute drive from the park. Burney Falls is 40 miles away which is quite spectacular. Small grocery store and Chevron station just outside of the park. Pizza and local brews sold at the big red barn at the front of the park. Get the Mount Shasta pizza which has everything on it....best pizza we have ever eaten!

Weekly rate includes $1/day per dog and $2/day for extra person. We pull a 43' Fifthwheel with a long F350. This is a beautiful grassy park, nestled in among towering pines and we were still able to easily get satellite signal. Very pleasant staff. Park is immaculately kept. Well marked and convenient pet area plus plenty of room to play with your furry friend. Site was level. With park practically empty, we could connect to their WIFI but no connections to Internet - pitiful! Verizon Hotspot signal strong. Utility connections are all at the back of the site and work well. Access from road is easy and easy to maneuver within the park on paved lanes. Some sites appear to be quite close together. We are in the first row - Site #78. These sites are long and wide enough for big rigs. Town is very small. Nice little grocery store here. Nice Cottages here. We will definitely return. We camped at McCloud RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

If you like tight spaces, no privacy and mud this is the place for you ! Booked the spot over the phone, sight unseen (mistake). Guy who made our reservation was very nice and gave us a non sewer site saying it was much nicer than the other sites with shade all day. Arrived to find a SUNNY, circular, grassy area city park like area (with trees as promised but no shade on our spot) and with sites so poorly laid out it was hard to tell which one was ours. The trailers were jammed in so close it was ridiculous. Commercial sprinklers were shooting water everywhere (it WAS green!) , we had to get soaked to shut the one in our site off. Of course the grass is soaking wet, soggy and muddy and that's what you park on ! No concrete or gravel pads in this part of the place at least. Add that to our neighbor having a pop up room and chairs and towels on a clothesline literally 2 feet from our bedroom window (probably because they couldn't tell which site was theirs!) and we said 'forget it'. We forfeited our $39 and left (NO refunds we were told by the unfriendly check in girl)!! What a mess, there are too many beautiful places to stay in the area to put up with all that nonsense unless of course you like being squished in like a sardine. Drive away from this one. One of the worst places we've seen. We camped at McCloud RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

McCloud Market is nearby and very well stocked. Small shopping area called Mercantile in center of McCloud is fun place to roam. Make sure you visit the McCloud Museum across from Mercantile. Great breakfast or lunch about 16 miles east of park on Hwy 89 called Battle Lodge.

Worst ever!!!! The owner (husband) is VERY rude! The wife is very nice. He was very unprofessional and doesn't care about customer service. He yelled at our son, as well as our friends a few spaces down about their boat. We were with a large group who have been coming for years, several of them will not be returning after this weekend. Spaces are too close together. Bathrooms are filthy. Our first time here and will never return!!! Owner stated he will be banning bikes next year. It's a shame the owner acts the way he does. I suspect the prior review stating this resort is a parking lot selected the wrong park. This is our second stay and won't be the last. Back In sites on the grass among tall trees for a lovely mix of sun and shade. Flower baskets everywhere, crews onsite applying a new coat of paint to fencing. The grass is beautiful and owners request that no rugs be used in order to keep the grass so nice. Not a problem. Park is very clean and well maintained. Great place to stay, highly recommend. Full hookup includes sewer, 30 am water/electric with dump station onsite. We camped at McCloud RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This place is basically a parking lot with trees. No privacy, garbage overflowing, and even though I walked all over the lot, I could not connect to wifi. Basically, no wifi. Never again. Don't stop here. With all the beautiful forests in the area, why not provide a site with a view, trees, shrubs, scenery? I hated this place. We camped at McCloud RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Sites are closer together than we prefer (awnings are within inches of the next RV's slide-outs), grounds well kept, facilities clean, staff very nice but the owner is as arrogant as anyone I've ever met. We reserved and paid for a tent site and RV site for 3 nights. On our last day while taking everything down THE OWNER decided to pull up the tent the kids were staying in 2 hours before checkout with all their things inside and drag it to the dirt so he could water the lawn. When I confronted him he did not apologize or seem to care in the least only saying he needed to water the lawn - keep in mind this is a $30 per night tent site and again, this was THE OWNER who did this. When we told him we would not be back he said that was fine as they "were always full". A simple apology would have been fine by me. Instead I'm making sure as many people as possible know about our experience. We camped at McCloud RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Read the other reviews, we pretty much agree with all of it. We stayed here for 2 nights early in June heading to Oregon and on the return trip another 2 nights. We waited to give review until after the return trip. The first time we had a pretty bad site which backed up to a really crappy yard area & was really tight. The second/return trip we had a much better site and had one side with no one by us. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful, you just don't want a site that backs up to the 89 or is so close your awning will touch your neighbors RV. Laundry room was clean, reasonable. WiFi was non-existent on the return trip and cable TV was down so also non-existent. Good thing the power was working for a/c. We would return, but would be very picky about our site choice.....they do assign the site when you call for a reservation. We camped at McCloud RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautiful grassy park. Nestled in among towering pines and we were still able to easily get satellite signal. Very pleasant staff. Park is immaculately kept. Restrooms are rustic in many ways but well kept and supplies stocked. Well marked and convenient pet area plus plenty of room to play with your furry friend. Site was quite level. Verizon signal strong. Wifi available but seemed to slow as the park filled up. Just used our hotspot since signal strength was excellent. Connections were conveniently placed. We loved this park and marked it as a place we would return and stay several days. Short walk across the street to Frosty's for excellent burgers, etc. Red Barn at entrance houses pizzaria serving local microbrewery beers. We camped at McCloud RV Resort in a Motorhome.

One of the prettiest parks we have stayed at; lots of tall Ponderosa Pines and Douglas Firs and lots of grass. Most sites are grass, some are small concrete pads. The reasons I didn't rate this park higher are that the sites are close together which could be a detriment on the weekend. Also, there is a fairly busy highway with a fair amount of truck traffic next to the park, but it does quiet down at night. If you are a light sleeper you might want to request a site away from the highway. We camped at McCloud RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of McCloud is across the road and an interesting old mining town. There are a few old hotels and one of them has been turned into some small, interesting shops. Mt. Shasta dominates the area and can be seen through the trees from most sites. We do want to come back, but only during the week as we did on this trip.
