As normal for TT park needs some TLC but that seems to be driven by years of neglect an DC time and money only allow so much progress. The park does seem improved from when we were here a few years ago. The dairy cows are gone but housing tracks are sprouting up instead, your opinion of which is worse may differ. Bathrooms were clean and pool and spa all worked and we're clean. We camped at Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

This was our third time at the park and we will return in the future. The sites are flat and large enough for our 40 ft. motor home. The park has many amenities and weekend activities. We had a 50 amp, FHU site. Good Verizon WiFi and phone service. Easily obtained satellite service. We camped at Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Nice Park good utilities seems to be very busy. I wish TT would crack down on the folks that have piles of junk all around their sites. It's one thing to have an old RV but your site need not look like junk yard! Verizon had a strong signal. We camped at Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We had stayed in this park a couple of years ago in a smaller motorhome (32') and wondered about whether we would find a site for our current 43' motorhome. We easily found a 50A FHU site (arriving on a Monday) and in a couple of days backed up into a recently vacated "lake front" 50A FHU site. I was wondering whether we would have duck and goose poop but it was not a problem. It was interesting to watch the water fowl and their interactions with each other. In walking around the park, it appears the 30A FHU sites that are away from the lakes are much larger. Next to the lake, the 50A sites are pretty close, but still enough room to park our tow vehicle next to our motorhome. The people next to us had two vehicles between their 5th wheel and our rig - so the sites are plenty wide. The roads are in good shape. The sites are in good shape and quite level. When we arrived, the ranger recommended that we just drive the RV around to find a site. With the car attached, we can't back up, so once we found a site where we would fit, we parked the rig and drove around with the Jeep - much easier for us. Rate reflects free stay as Thousand Trails Courtesy Card holders. We camped at Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Menifee has really grown since we were here two years ago. Lots of shopping on the west side of I-215 (just before Christmas the traffic backs up in trying to make the left on Hahn Road). Stater Brothers and strip mall right at the turn off from Newport Road. We found the drive to Hemet to be reasonable for Walmart Supercenter and thrift stores (Salvation Army and Goodwill - like getting bargains!).

Rate reflects non-member status and includes resort fees and taxes. We stay here because it is close to family. The park has improved since our last visit two years ago. Gravel sites (depth of gravel varies significantly from site to site). I had a malfunctioning 50 amp breaker that maintenance immediately fixed. Hookups were easily accessible. The CG is gated with a manned gate 24 hours. Pool area was large and clean. Great country store. Non-member rate is pricey, but our experience didn't motivate us to consider a membership. Wow....just WOW! This was our first stay at this Thousand Trails Resort and being members of TT I have to say that this park is one of our favorites. We are a couple (he, 51 and her 46) that recently chose to live in our RV full time for the adventure of travel but this park makes us want to stay put. The VERIZON signal was good enough to stream movies without being boosted. TV signals with our cheapo TV antenna pulled in quit a few local channels and while we do not have satellite TV our neighbors had no problem using their Tailgater system despite the beautiful shade trees. The sights are the biggest I have seen in any park I have ever stayed in although some sights are bigger than others I have not seen any site on the small side and we walked through the park daily. There is a quiet and heated adult pool with a hot tub and two showers as well a a HUGE family pool with two more hot tubs. The Family Pool is right next to the snack bar and family rec hall. There is also an adult rec hall near the adult pool. This park also has a gym with a weight machine, treadmills and elliptical machines. It is not a huge gym but it is as big if not bigger than most Hotel gyms. The normal Pickle Ball and Shuffle Board courts in really nice condition. Campers here seem to all be in a good mood and friendly. In our 3 weeks here we were invited to several cocktail hours and dinners just from hanging out at the pool or hot tub. We made great new friends here and can not wait to return. There is shopping of all kinds close by. There does seem to be a lot of flies around here but they are certainly not a show stopper. Also the water fowl will practically come up to your door and knock for a free hand out. We were here in the spring so the baby ducklings and geese were a lot of fun to have visit our site daily for their feeding. If you are a walker, walk around the outside perimeter road (and don't cut corners) it is exactly 1.25 miles per lap(4 laps get you 5 miles) We camped at Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Dissapointed. If you've never been here before, I would recommend not arriving after dark. Payment for site is collected at the guard shack, prior to being let in. You'll be giving a map, informed which are the 50 amp, 30 amp, and which sites are privately owned. We drove around, with car in tow, looking for a site along with a few other RVers, mostly circling the 50 amp sites with no luck. Frustrated, I went back to the guard shack and told them to find me a site, or give me a refund, it was at this time I was informed that more than likely, no 50 amp are available, and I should probably go to the back end of the park where the 30 amp smaller sites are. Lots of trees, and lots of dead leaves on the ground. Sites are dirt with some pea gravel (not enough). The water canals are murky green. The heated pool was about 76 - 78 deg, we didn't last long, neither did other swimmers we saw. Train ride is available for 25 cents, weekends only, miniature golf available, we didn't see anyone playing. We won't return. We camped at Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Has a family lodge for the kids and a separate Adult Lodge for the seniors who like peace and quiet. Train ( miniature ) rides are offered on week ends. Lots of room to walk around the canals and grounds. Has two swimming pools, one for the families and one for adults only. Has an exercise room for adults. Free wi-fi at the lodges. The pay WiFi is very slow in the park. Here is a short stroll in the evening https://youtu.be/I25l2QewfDI. We camped at Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

We are members of Thousand Trails so stayed there for free on our membership. The park rules say "check-in at noon, check-out at noon". We were sold a "family campground" but it's anything but. This really is for long term people. We wanted 2 sites on the canal and for this reason checked in on a Wednesday. There were no sites available, but we saw two rigs that were due to check out and had not yet (even though it was after checkout time). We were able to secure 2, 30 amp sites. After talking to our neighbor I learned there is a system that people get to know each other and let them know when they are leaving so if someone in a 50 amp site is leaving, another long term person would move over from the 30 amp site. Makes it hard for newcomers to secure the 50 amp. We were on the canal and there was trash in the canal and no attempt to fish it out. TTN has gone downhill and looks worn out. The person at the front gate immediately chastised me for going over the line (which I didn't see). I always have had my window next to the ranger door and thought this was correct. Not a friendly welcome. When we joined there were rental trailers only. Now there are rental cabin and lease sites, taking sites away from members. We camped at Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

When you pull in check the departure date of other rigs by looking at the sign posted on their headlight. That's the only way we got our sites as tey were not yet vacant (even though it was after 12).

One of the better Thousand Trails parks but like most showing its age. Site was large, level back in on one of the water canals. Good elec and water pressure. Picnic table needs to ve replaced. Staff excellent. Quiet park and close to shopping. There are a couple of occupied units in very poor condition, expired license plates so a violation. Amenities good. Only drawback is the increasing number of geese. Honking can be annoying, even at night. Park store sells cracked corn to feed ducks and geese. This is not good because fowl are too dependent on this and not their natural diet. Restrooms are kept clean and have updated plumbing. Pools are nice and heated. Rate reflects TT membership. We camped at Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

We are Thousand Trails members so we used this as one of our 50 free stays. We have camped here before and will do so again. Most sites are level, we had a picnic table and a fire pit. We like the trees in the area and, actually, wonder how they have survived so well during this drought. And, yes, there was little grass and mostly dirt but then, it is a drought and there has been no rain to speak of for several years. We like the park and the campground atmosphere. The bathrooms and laundries are always clean, the store was well stocked and the pool looked nice though we did not use it. We like the family atmosphere and the kids riding their bikes around. All in all, a pleasant place to stay.
By the way, we have used this campground for several overnight trips into the Los Angeles area. One time we drove into Long Beach to see the Battleship Iowa and stayed in the Queen Mary. A wonderful trip. Anther time we drove into to the Huntington in Pasadena and stayed over night. Absolutely marvelous museum. Richard Nixon's birthplace and Presidential Library are in Yorba Linda, a day trip. You can also take a day trip into Temecula or to Idlewild. Overall Rating:

If you're a 55+ park lover, this is not the place for you. The weather's so perfect here in the winter that in the middle of Feb. I have several families with school-age children surrounding me, as if they were on a summer camping trip, which I'm quite enjoying because they toast marshmallows over their portable campfires at night.

This isn't really "camping", though. Not a ton of trees. If it weren't for the canals, and the abundance of nearly-tame waterfowl, there would be absolutely nothing special about this place.

The latter, surprisingly, make it a place you want to come back to. Whole flocks of Canada geese actually live and nest here, and there are other species I'd never even Seen before. If you get a canal site, and feed them, you'll be over-run with your own avian posse in no time. And yes, they honk a lot, and can be noisy.

Beware of the canals during the rainy season, though, as those sites can and do flood.

There's a camp store with the usual over-priced merchandise, but it's good in a pinch, and on the weekends there's an onsite cafe with some nice offerings.

Sites are decently-spaced and level, Verizon signal is terrific, only a few miles to grocery stores and shopping. I can get there on my electric scooter. You can get pizza and even groceries delivered here. It's close to amenities and yet at night you can actually see the stars.

A tremendous plus for full timers is that the ranger station will accept all packages, without a site number, so you can have them sent ahead of you. The drawback is that, for whatever reason (maybe the packages??) most of the ranger staff are brusque, not very friendly, and even snippy without provocation. I work hard to be friendly and courteous to TT staff everywhere. This is the only park at which I've encountered this attitude. Steer clear of them if you can, and you'll probably have a good time. This is a very large campground that requires a major facelift. Prolific weeds, dirty moldy signs, gravel sites with dirt, and well worn roads characterize this CG. When I entered, the security guard told me to pick my spot and I found a level easy pull-through site with full hookups. The sites are a mixture of dirt and gravel. Be prepared to pay for Wi-Fi (I didn't), fishing ($10/day) , and visitors ($10.00 per person/day). Cell phone was good. Difficult for me to get out of my site because neighbor parked across my exit. Couldn't find him. I won't be back. We camped at Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.
