The views across the highway of dried up Honey Lake do draw the eye - and that's a good thing because the campground is a mess. There's a lot of junk laying around: broken, rusty swing sets, old rundown RVs on the side and in the back, a huge orange trailer with bags of trash to the rim that need disposing of (flies), dog poop laying around everywhere - even at campsites (ours). It's just dismal to say the least. During our stay we heard one of the tenants living in a very old rig using the "f" word very loudly to read out the management, and another's dog barked incessantly. The noise from the highway is not conducive to a good night's sleep. For a moment, I'd considered using this as a layover on my snowbird route home, but have decided that even the good price isn't worth it. We camped at Honey Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I wrote the last review of this park, and there's not much new to say about it. It's still rough around the edges, but quiet and safe and peaceful. The roads into and out of the park are dirt and pretty bumpy. The proprietors are very nice people and friendly and accommodating. The WiFi worked adequately and you can't beat the price. Honey Lake is definitely not a destination park, but good for an overnight stop. We camped at Honey Lake RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We had mechanical problems with our tow vehicle and so spent two nights here while we had repairs done in Susanville. This is an older, rather dilapidated park. There appeared to be a small mobile home park behind the RV part of the establishment too. The young woman at the desk was very friendly, helpful and accommodating which went a long ways towards mitigating the physical decrepitude of the park. The restroom was as clean as one could expect it to be considering the fact that there was a lot of deferred maintenance issues with it. Our site was indeed on very sandy soil, but we did have a few trees to provide some welcome shade and we were right next to a little water feature where we enjoyed watching hummingbirds come to drink. The view out to Honey Lake is pretty, especially at sunrise and sunset. If you're looking for a spiffy modern resort, this is certainly not it, but if you just need a safe quiet place to sleep for the night, this will do. We camped at Honey Lake RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice spot for a stop over. We stayed one night and was great. Looked like most people lived there but was still nice. Pet friendly. We camped at Honey Lake RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

A previous reviewer noted the soft sand, and I was worried, but stopped to look at it anyway. It is a Passport campground, and I like to use them when possible. I can see that the sand can be worked up after heavy park use, and for some big heavy trucks, that could become a problem. My class c did not have trouble navigating the access roads, and the wide pull-through site. The site is not level, so be prepared to add boards, or work your set-up a bit to find the sweet spot. That being said, the staff was friendly, the bath was older but clean. The view out over Honey Lake is great, and the park quiet and relaxing. We camped at Honey Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

We came to this park because it was a good resting point before moving onto Fernley, Nevada. The private road to the campground was on improved dirt. Going slowing it was doable. We did not realize that all of the sites were on sand, not packed sand, just loose sand. We attempted to get into our site but got stuck in the sand. I have a one ton truck hauling a heavy rig. After a couple of tries we gave up, asked for our money back and continued onto Fernley. Even if we did get into this spot, the campground was only good as an over nighter, definitely not a destination spot. The sites looked old and tired. The price reflects a Passport America rate had we stayed there. I would pull off to the side of the road then stay here. We camped at Honey Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
