Pretty much NO shade in the 100+ degree temp! The "cable TV" only got 16 channels that were ALL news, infomercial, cartoon net, and a couple of oldies channels. We literally had better antenna channels. The "WiFi"... you'd better be within 50 ft of the office. If you DO get it at all - it goes on & off. Finally, while we were there the water was shut off all night through checkout time!! Bring food. NOTHING in walking distance. Nearest restaurants are 8-10 miles. Very limited choices. Old/weak electrical. Circuit breaker kept tripping while running (MUCH needed) A/C. Appliances could not run at full power. We camped at Sierra Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Like everyone says, if you are in the area, good over nighter. We were going from Morro Bay (central coast) up to mammoth lakes. Needed an over night half way this was perfect. Pull out back into pull thru don't have to unhook. WiFi not good in the back but Verizon hot spot fine. Easy helpful staff. Pa discount well worth the membership cost. Did I mention very, very helpful office. When you see the road sign for rv, go onto the dirt bit and pass the entrance back onto black top. Go in the back thru two yellow poles ( at chain link fence). Pull-thrus are convenient. The office helped me guide into the area with ease. We camped at Sierra Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Just an over night stop. The pull through sites in the back are huge - well over a 100 ft long - we opted for a site with 50 amp and cable as sewer site they had available had 30 amp 18 cable stations - locals were LA stations as the town in about 100 miles north of LA Site had a BBQ grill and small patio We camped at Sierra Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

third year we've stayed the night here on our way from Oregon to Death Valley, Tucson and Sedona. Very friendly people. Easy access to Hwy 58 driving E from Bakersfield. Full hookups or not depending on your need. Lots of fulltimers in interesting states of staying. Clean place. I agree with the reviews on their site. Not sure I'd use this as my go-to site for a couple of week stay in the area as it's a bit out of the way, but you may be different. Showers clean. We camped at Sierra Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The price is the PA price. To begin with, make sure you talk to the owners as to how to get to the park. Do not follow GPS. Also, when talking to the park, make sure they know what size rig you have and your hook-up needs. If you have a smaller rig and/or need FHU, you will be able to get into the 'front' part of the park as it is a very tight fit. If you are large, and/or do not need FHU, you will have plenty of room in the 'rear' part of the park. There is a 'country mile' out back to maneuver your rig. Also, if your are using the water-elec. only spaces in the 'rear', be sure and ask how to get to them. You enter on a road (dirt for the first few feet, then poor blacktop to the entrance) BEFORE you get to the 'main' entrance to the park. With that said, it is a nice little park for a nights stay. Restrooms are better inside than they look on the outside, the people are great, and the price is right. Give it a try. We camped at Sierra Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you don't like driving through the LA area on the way south to the desert, try going east out of Bakersfield on 58, through Mojave, then down to the desert. No longer, but much, much less traffic.

For the PA rate of $20, this was a decent stop for one night coming out of Death Valley. Very cordial check in, good wifi and clean bathrooms and laundry ($1.25/wash, .75/35-45 mins of dryer time). There is some highway noise but it isn't really bothersome unless you're a light sleeper. Lots of full-timers but no "hoarders". Would stay again. Might be tight for big rigs if one is not experienced in backing up. We camped at Sierra Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Mostly a fulltime/longtime resident park with lots of shade trees. Park is older well maintained with narrow dirt interior roads. Two large rigs would have trouble passing each other. a Cable TV for a fee but reception poor at the three sites I tested. Free WiFi with decent reception. Road leading to the park lined with trees that need trimming badly. Limbs will drag on your rig unless you swing wide. Served our purpose for a two night rest stop. For $20 with Passport America, it's ok for an overnight but if we had to pay full price of $40 per night would not have stayed. Pull-throughs dirt sites for short stay, no sewer, 30 amp power and is part of a RV storage area for . The sites in front were nicer with full hook-ups/ Nice little patio and picnic table. Quiet area with friendly manager. We camped at Sierra Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here five or six times and will do so again. It is just what we need traveling from Washington the the California Desert. We have a Motorhome and toad, so the area in the back is just what we need for a night. Price is PA. Back lot consists of eight pull throughs in a gravel/dirt lot. No sewer, but passing through, no big deal. When we were there, they were adding 50 amp service to the back area. We will stay here again. We camped at Sierra Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

There were two reasons why we gave the park a low rating. The WiFi was based on satellite service so it was slow and spotty. In desperation to check out e-mail we stood under the router to connect and had to type standing up. The advertised pool was there and full of water but the water was green and the gate was padlocked. I have never seen a dirtier pool.

The owner was very friendly, but we felt the Park was not a good value for the price.

We were able to use our satellite and pick up TV. We camped at Sierra Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

A nice park, with friendly staff. Every site has a picnic table and charcoal grill. All sites that have access to WiFi are back-in. There are some pull-throughs, but they are out of WiFi range. Close to Hwy 14, and about 15 miles from Red Rock Canyon State Park (worth seeing). We camped at Sierra Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Friendly staff, and for an overnight stay, a pull-through no less. It fit the bill and worked for us. The site was sunny with some shade, No, it is not the Taj Mahal, but neither is the price. If back this way, we WILL stay again. We camped at Sierra Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
