Little bit hard to find the campground. - Alban Michel
Jan 2016 - $20.00
The rate reflects power and water hook up. FHU was $30 and tenting was $15. It's hard to tell if the recent rains are what makes this park feel a bit run down, or if it is a bit rundown. There are many areas where it is obvious campers were stuck in the recent rains. And parts of the park are still closed today, 5 days later, as they appear to be drying up. And the lake is down probably 20 feet. And the bathrooms are dark. The women's seemed clean, but the men's definitely was not. We did have a brand new picnic table at our site. And the electrical box was newish. The roads are dirt. I would not stay here again, but I might try something else in the area. - ALbums
May 2015 - $20.00
The lake level was low due to the drought and a crew was preparing the lake-shore for a weekend rock festival. So, we were fortunate to stay there on a weekday. We had one of the 12 electric and water sites because all the FHU sites were taken. But, for $20, this site was the only bargain campground we found in California. Definitely worth considering as an overnight stop between Barstow and Bakersfield. - fanrgs

Just a couple additions to the other reviews. WiFi worked good in site #29. The lodge does not take credit or debit cards so take cash or write a check. So of the trees could us some trimming. Good Verizon 4g service and if you have an on-board satellite dish park on the west end. - StarlifterFE
Jun 2017 - $20.00
This was an adequate place to park while visiting friends nearby. The main campground is a large, level gravel parking lot with treed sites along three sides. There is a common BBQ area with picnic tables, but nothing at the sites. The campground host and everyone in the Lodge were very welcoming. We had strong 30 amp service that ran our A/C and one other appliance without problems. Good water pressure. Good, easily accessible dump. There are many trains, but no noise from the apartments as reported earlier, perhaps because it was hot. It's best to approach from the east so that you can make an wide left turn into the west entrance. - Mingo Papa

This is a gravel parking lot, but it did have 30 amp electric and good water pressure. It said there was wifi, but none showed up at our site. The people were very friendly in the lodge, but other than a place to park, it was noisy (lots of trains in the night) and abuts next to an apartment complex were people were throwing firecrackers in the lot and lots of trash just being thrown near their dumpsters. There were no sewer hookups, but a convenient dump station. A satisfactory place to park, but nothing fancy. - Ginny H
