Overall Rating:

We booked our stay pretty late and got stuck in the last row with a view of the dumpsters and an RV storage lot. The front cul-de-sac sites are for smaller RV's. Our 42' MH would not fit there. If passing through, and we loved the area and location of the park, we would stay again but only if we could get in the second row, facing Morro Rock. The park is directly across the street from state beaches - dog friendly left only. Nice bike path to the big rock and adjacent beach. Again, super location. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Less than a mile to the harbor and shops. The bike path is great. Lots of places to eat. Shopping, Safeway and fast food, is up the hill a mile or so, difficult bike ride - drive. Don't miss eating at Taco Temple up the road a bit. Drive up Route 1 as far as you have time. As of April 4, 2018, it was closed (mudslide) a few feet beyond the Salmon Creek Falls trailhead. Fabulous views at that point and back a few miles. Skip Hearst Castle.

Rate includes the $8 reservation fee. Very nice campground right off of the beach. Campground has full hook-ups on the back row (35 sites) and dry camping (50 sites) for the rest of the sites. Except for the high cost, I enjoyed my visit at Morro Strand SB! The cost is reason I didn't rate it a 10. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stay at this park about a week every year. This year we had an electrical problem in our trailer. The park maintenance man diagnosed the problem quickly. He had the part we needed in stock, and the repair was done in 35 minutes. Very professional and courteous. Park is always clean. Dog run always well kept. Have stayed at other parks in Morro, but none compare to Morro Dunes. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Good restaurants are The Coffee Pot, The Dutchman, The Dockside. Cambria is always a must visit. Lots of antique shops and restaurants. Our favorite is Lynn's. Cayucos is another must visit. Lots of good antique shops. Our favorite place to eat is The Sea Shanty.

This is our second stay at this RV park & we really enjoy it. Sites are fairly close but divided by wooden fences for privacy. The people who manage the park are friendly & helpful. We were even able to have an Amazon package delivered with no problem. The best part about the park is that it is right across a very small street from the dog-friendly beach and an easy walk into town. Our rate included a free day since we were there for 10. There are 3 separate laundry rooms and all are very clean. We already have our reservations for next Xmas! We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Large RV Park across the street from dunes and beach and close to restaurants and shopping on the water. Large gravel sites, few trees, but typical for RV Park. Wi-Fi good, cable TV good. Verizon 3G good. Some long term but all neat. Would definitely return. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed at this park many times before. The staff is always helpful. The park is always clean. The location is fantastic. Dog friendly beach with in easy walking distance. The addition of the embaraçado bridge is a welcome addition. Morro Bay and Caycous have much to offer. We will stay here again. The only reason not a 10 is due to the slow WIFI. This park is a large motor home park right next to the pacific coast. It's in an ugly industrial area with no view but you literally walk out the gate onto the beach next to Morro Rock. Sites are narrow but adequate. Price isn't bad for CA beach access. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Morro Bay is a cute beach town with shops and eateries. Golf at the state park is fabulous with a view of the ocean. Bring jackets. It's chilly and often foggy.

Over priced for park . Needs lots of work . Dirty , would be nice to at least have gravel instead of dirt to park on. Bird crap on everything . Next to a treatment plant . Storage lot with old in bad shape RV's being stored . Was given a horrible site facing trash , complained and was moved . There was numerous sites open . Unless they update park will never return . Overall Rating:

A very nice privately owned RV park in an area where there are not many choices. The streets in the park are paved but the sites are not. Unfortunately we were here during a very heavy winter storm and actually went out and bought some plastic mats to put on the ground outside to help keep mud out of the trailer. Hook-ups were convenient & they collect the garbage. Our site was quite narrow and took some maneuvering for our slideouts. Some sites are quite a bit larger and there are pull-throughs available. The location is right across from a dog-friendly beach with easy access, which is wonderful to walk on. Since we were here 6 nights, we disconnected our truck but even parked close to the 5th wheel it stuck out into the street. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We camp for vacations in a 25 foot Class C motorhome with bikes, no toad, no pets, no kids.

We rated this park an "8". For this park to be a "10" the sites would have to be far apart, with trees/plants in between the sites, and the sites themselves would have to be roomier and perfectly level.

We enjoyed this RV Park and will definitely come back when we are traveling up or down the central California coast. This is our 3rd one-night stay in the past 3 months. The proximity to the beach is great, and it's a very nice beach - very few people, lots of nice sand, shells. Close to a nice little community, bike path from campground to town, interesting sight seeing nearby.

We paid $49.95, including tax.

Pros:

Location right on the beach is great

Location is also close to Hearst Castle, Piedras Blancas Lighthouse, and the Morro Bay Maritime Museum

Relatively quiet location (have to listen real hard to hear highway noise)

Has good, reliable cable TV

Has good, reliable wifi

Beach across the street from RV Park

Can take kayak and/or bike tours in the area

Picnic table & fire ring

Sites pretty level

Bathrooms & showers clean

Cons:

Sites very close together, My slide out is probably only 6 inches from neighbors' truck

No shade, but we're at the beach so have not needed it so far....

No grass

Bathrooms clean but older. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Motorhome.

We always stay here when we travel to LA since it is 4 hrs from our home and is the perfect stop. The staff is great and does not require a deposit before making a reservation. The park is clean and we love that the beach is right across the road. The stores in the area are close and great! This is a great RV park. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Site Quality = 3/5

Level concrete spaces. Mostly back ins. Star shaped cul de sac spaces. Not the easiest to back into but luckily it wasn't full when we pulled in. Close proximity to neighbors. Fire pits and tables. No shade (but you're on the pacific coast and it is usually foggy/overcast anyway). Spaces were only long enough for the trailer (30') and could kind of fit our truck without blocking our neighbors. There is parking nearby for 2nd vehicles.

Facilities/Amenities = 5/5

Showers and bathrooms near each site. Laundry on site. Clean. Has a convenience store. Had wifi - pretty slow in the evenings. Good cell service.

Location = 4/5

Right off the beach, easy walking distance to a great sunset. 10 minute drive to downtown Morro Bay with restaurant options. Right off highway 1 but far from the highway noise. It is right next to the waste water treatment center.

Price 2/5

On the high end - $50/night

Ease of booking 4/5

No online booking but if you call them during normal hours they picked up quickly. Booking was a breeze. This place does fill up and is a popular destination, so book early.

Hook Ups 4/5

Full hook ups, 30 AMP service. Sewer was a little worse for the wear.

Overall Rating = 3.66/5. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
