We have stayed at this park many times before. The staff is always helpful. The park is always clean. The location is fantastic. Dog friendly beach with in easy walking distance. The addition of the embaraçado bridge is a welcome addition. Morro Bay and Caycous have much to offer. We will stay here again. The only reason not a 10 is due to the slow WIFI. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the perfect location to walk the beach or walk to the shopping and restaurants. It is clean and neat with convenient garbage cans that are emptied every morning. This park can handle any size or type of rv or tent camping. The roadways are wide and easy to maneuver. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is a large motor home park right next to the pacific coast. It's in an ugly industrial area with no view but you literally walk out the gate onto the beach next to Morro Rock. Sites are narrow but adequate. Price isn't bad for CA beach access. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Morro Bay is a cute beach town with shops and eateries. Golf at the state park is fabulous with a view of the ocean. Bring jackets. It's chilly and often foggy.

Over priced for park . Needs lots of work . Dirty , would be nice to at least have gravel instead of dirt to park on. Bird crap on everything . Next to a treatment plant . Storage lot with old in bad shape RV's being stored . Was given a horrible site facing trash , complained and was moved . There was numerous sites open . Unless they update park will never return . We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

A very nice privately owned RV park in an area where there are not many choices. The streets in the park are paved but the sites are not. Unfortunately we were here during a very heavy winter storm and actually went out and bought some plastic mats to put on the ground outside to help keep mud out of the trailer. Hook-ups were convenient & they collect the garbage. Our site was quite narrow and took some maneuvering for our slideouts. Some sites are quite a bit larger and there are pull-throughs available. The location is right across from a dog-friendly beach with easy access, which is wonderful to walk on. Since we were here 6 nights, we disconnected our truck but even parked close to the 5th wheel it stuck out into the street. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our second stay at this park. Although the spaces are close together with little in the way of shade, the location can't be beat. The park and restrooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is helpful and friendly. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We camp for vacations in a 25 foot Class C motorhome with bikes, no toad, no pets, no kids.

We rated this park an "8". For this park to be a "10" the sites would have to be far apart, with trees/plants in between the sites, and the sites themselves would have to be roomier and perfectly level.

We enjoyed this RV Park and will definitely come back when we are traveling up or down the central California coast. This is our 3rd one-night stay in the past 3 months. The proximity to the beach is great, and it's a very nice beach - very few people, lots of nice sand, shells. Close to a nice little community, bike path from campground to town, interesting sight seeing nearby.

We paid $49.95, including tax.

Pros:

Location right on the beach is great

Location is also close to Hearst Castle, Piedras Blancas Lighthouse, and the Morro Bay Maritime Museum

Relatively quiet location (have to listen real hard to hear highway noise)

Has good, reliable cable TV

Has good, reliable wifi

Beach across the street from RV Park

Can take kayak and/or bike tours in the area

Picnic table & fire ring

Sites pretty level

Bathrooms & showers clean

Cons:

Sites very close together, My slide out is probably only 6 inches from neighbors' truck

No shade, but we're at the beach so have not needed it so far....

No grass

Bathrooms clean but older. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Motorhome.

We always stay here when we travel to LA since it is 4 hrs from our home and is the perfect stop. The staff is great and does not require a deposit before making a reservation. The park is clean and we love that the beach is right across the road. The stores in the area are close and great! This is a great RV park. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Site Quality = 3/5

Level concrete spaces. Mostly back ins. Star shaped cul de sac spaces. Not the easiest to back into but luckily it wasn't full when we pulled in. Close proximity to neighbors. Fire pits and tables. No shade (but you're on the pacific coast and it is usually foggy/overcast anyway). Spaces were only long enough for the trailer (30') and could kind of fit our truck without blocking our neighbors. There is parking nearby for 2nd vehicles.

Facilities/Amenities = 5/5

Showers and bathrooms near each site. Laundry on site. Clean. Has a convenience store. Had wifi - pretty slow in the evenings. Good cell service.

Location = 4/5

Right off the beach, easy walking distance to a great sunset. 10 minute drive to downtown Morro Bay with restaurant options. Right off highway 1 but far from the highway noise. It is right next to the waste water treatment center.

Price 2/5

On the high end - $50/night

Ease of booking 4/5

No online booking but if you call them during normal hours they picked up quickly. Booking was a breeze. This place does fill up and is a popular destination, so book early.

Hook Ups 4/5

Full hook ups, 30 AMP service. Sewer was a little worse for the wear.

Overall Rating = 3.66/5. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Location is great. Across from the beach at Morro Bay, viewing the Rock from your unit. A walking path and bike path to the beach and the Rock. Sites are spacious, but no shade. Even have an RV repair shop. A nice camp store. Has both back-in and pull-through sites. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Old park with short, narrow sites. If your total length is over 45' you will have to disconnect. Also, large rigs will find it very tight maneuvering to and from your site with very tight turns on narrow streets. Site was level fine gravel with the utilities placed mid site. All sites have wood fences on both sides which only serve to make them even smaller. Cable was 24 SD channels and the WIFI was useable for light browsing but got slow at busy times. Park is in an industrial area with the beach across the road from the park. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Location, location, location. Less than a 1/4 mile to the water, 1 mile to shopping, great bike/walking paths. Restrooms/showers are older, yet spacious. No shower curtain across the shower which allows water to flow in the dressing area, however there is a solid door for the dressing area so there is privacy. Low water pressure especially when a toilet is flushed, but water temperature did not change. Staff isn't the friendliness. Very quite park. We have a 30 ft. motorhome and towing a car and our space was a good size. Next time in Morro Bay we would definitely stay again. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Motorhome.

We did not go into the "main" part of town, we stayed along the bay. Lots of interesting restaurants, shops, etc. We saw sea lions, otters, egrets, and many other water fowl.

We enjoyed our time at this campground. The beach is across a seldom used road from the campground. Gates are provided along the fence line to visit the beach. There is a great boardwalk into town and some great restaurants. The Wi-Fi worked better than most campgrounds. The restrooms are old but clean. The grounds are nice and well cared for. Level sites and lots of pull-throughs. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Simple and clean, close to the ocean. Sites are spacious enough, although there is no shade at all but being this close to the ocean it didn't matter. The staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all, this is a park that doesn't put on airs, just is what it is: relaxing, and fun. The dog run is well cared for, the sites are cleaned after each use. We enjoyed our stay.
