A parking lot but short walk to town, beach, rock etc. good Verizon, WiFi ok until everyone gets up in the am and then it dies. Cable good, other utilities good. Back in but reasonable room to maneuver. Friendly staff. We could only get two nights mid week, would have stayed longer, the park was half empty but our spot was rented from Tuesday so left, wasn't worth moving for two more days. Loved the area. Well worth a trip and would come back. Easy access just off pch. We camped at Morro Strand RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The rock, walk on beach, plenty of sea food in walking distance from the park. Otters every where in the bay. Plenty of beach but windy and cool. Good bakeries, and big enough town with stuff u need. Neighboring towns very good to visit, drive up pch to San semian see the seals and Hearst castle. Beautiful area. Not overly crowded, early June mid week.

Winter rates. Discount for longer term stays. Ask. California coastal tourest area. Summer much more $$$. Two sections, smaller trailers in the south section, south of Rt 41, all back-in, close pack. This is inland of the sewage plant and can be smelly. Northern section larger RVs, no pull thru, but sites alternate wide/narrow. Northern section between a grade school and high school, so you can hear the crowds on game nights, mom traffic from drop-off/pick-up at the usual times. Kids on the sidewalks. Local bus stops by once an hour, rides to supermarkets or up into the shopping area of town from about 8 A to 6 P. Cheap. Bus Connections to SLO but that becomes an all day event. 5 minute walk to the beach, superb view of Morro Rock and sunsets over the ocean, 15 minutes walk to the Harbor area. Very bike-able. Very good free WiFi, most sites have good Satellite view lines, trees only around the perimeter. Reservations during college events like spring break or graduation (Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo or Cuesta) crowd the park, reserve in advance. Favorite stopover for RV caravan tours; they can fill the park for 3 or four days, so long term stays need advance planning. Good laundry, showers. Watch your awning, wind can pick up fast. We camped at Morro Strand RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Cal Highway 41 from Hwy 46 to Atuscadero is not RV/Trailer friendly. Trust me. Come in from Paso Robles. Hwy 41 from Atuscadero to Morro Bay is ok for Class A RV's or large trailers, just watch downhill speed. RV repair and propane fill is about 3/4 mile from the park. Nearest Big Box stores are in San Luis Obispo, but Miner's Ace Hardware is about 1/2 mile away. Canoe/kayak rentals at Morro Bay State Park, 5 miles away, to visit the tidal "back bay" of Morro Bay.

Nice park, level gravel spaces. Did not use their facilities. $2 per day for your dog, not a good program. Our neighbor had 5 yappy dogs. I guess if you're going to charge $2 per dog why have limits on how many. Good sites for satellite reception. We camped at Morro Strand RV Park in a Motorhome.

I really like this park. There are simple backin sites on gravel. There is adequate space. If you need more space there are luxury sites that seem twice as wide as a normal site. If you like to walk or bike, you are within easy reach of the beach, Morro Rock and the Embarcadero. We like to kayak the bay. There are several launch sites a short drive away. The park is quiet . We thought it was a lot of money for this very tiny rv spot. No pull throughs. Gravel. Very close to neighbors. There is a lot nicer rv parks in morro bay. It is a quiet park. The cable is ok. The wifi is good. Husband and I were not impressed. It is close to the beaches. We camped at Morro Strand RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We try to get out in our trailer at least once a month. We've done this for two years now and I have to say this park - though clean is my least favorite. The spaces in the south park are tight, perpendicular to the road and narrow. It is downwind from the city's treatment plant - making it unbearable to sit outside. On the plus side - it is an easy walk to the beach and about a 15-minute walk to downtown Morro Bay. We camped at Morro Strand RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This RV park is nothing fancy ... at all. I truly don't know how they justify $60 a night for gravel and dirt sites that were muddy when we arrived. Our site was just long enough for the motorhome but we had to park the car sideways to fit. The site was narrow, and there was no privacy between sites. There are several long term older RVs but sites seem reasonably cared for. The park is on route 41 across the street from a water treatment plant. The road stays busy during the day but quietens down at night. You can walk to the beach which requires a short trek up route 41 past the water treatment plant and down a beach access area. Verizon coverage was 4g 3 bars, and the WII FI actually worked!! Directv satellite coverage was fine. When we were there, it was very noisy. There were people next door and behind us with lots of kids, car alarms going off, and loud talking. We would not stay here again. We camped at Morro Strand RV Park in a Motorhome.

Super clean park (love their stance on cigarette butts!) split into two sections: larger rigs are on the north side of Atascadero Road, smaller to the south. (Office on the north.) Very clean laundry on the south side. Fantastic proximity to Morro Rock and onward to the Embarcadero. Very good info sheet -- one of the best I've seen. We'll be back! Stayed in site 12, 55+ ft long and 40+ feet wide. Paved road with very level gravel sites. Nothing fancy but plenty of room. "Very" close to the beach, 2 minute walk. If you have a big rig this is the place to stay. The one around the corner is good for small trailers and small MH as they pack you in like sardines there. Bike/hiking paths close by. EZ on/off CA one.

If you come from the north on US 101 take CA 46 over as it's a truck route. CA 41 has some very tight curves and narrow in places. We camped at Morro Strand RV Park in a Motorhome.

Biking, hiking and kayaking. Great fresh seafood market at the dock. On the fringe of the Paso Robles wine area. Cayucos is 5 miles away. Old coastal town, with fun bars and Resturants. Coastal hiking just on the edge of town to the north

This RV park is nothing fancy, but a great place to stay to enjoy Morro Bay or to go wine tasting in the area. It is close enough to walk or bike into town. The sites are large, we had plenty of room for our 40' motorhome. The sites are gravel, level and have nice picnic tables and fire rings at each site. The grounds are well kept and the people were friendly and efficient on the phone and at check in. It's where we like to stay when in Morro Bay! We camped at Morro Strand RV Park in a Motorhome.

2nd visit, 1st was wonderful...this one was not. Upon check-in we observed the new manager berating and raising her voice to an employee in full view of everybody. We felt very uncomfortable, and her attitude carried over into our check-in. On day 2 we observed an altercation with same manager and another camper, again with her voice raised in front of others. We were later told that the RV Park is under new ownership and has new management. The park was very clean and well maintained, and the pricing is reasonable. The location is walking distance to the beach and a short drive to town and great restaurants. We camped at Morro Strand RV Park in a Motorhome.

A good location (walking distance to the dunes and beach). Sites are level and utilities all work well, incl. wifi. Sites are gravel, utilities at rear (so may need extension(s), as I did). Good laundry facility. There are no "resort amenities", just a basic place to park. Some double-width sites (42'), as well as the standard 21' width. Everything clean and works. On the expensive side, but location counts. We camped at Morro Strand RV Park in a Motorhome.

There is nothing fancy about this RV Park - no extra amenities - no concrete pads nor patios but you are paying for the location which is excellent. We could walk about two blocks to the water. Sites were gravel and level. It was quiet. WIFI worked. The sites were fairly tight and you did not have a lot of room, but you were not touching your neighbor's awning. We had to move our truck several times so others could get into their sites with their RVs. Very expensive but if you want to visit Morro Bay, you don't have a lot of choice. The park was clean. Location, Location, Location! Little did we know this campground and our site (D) would be right next to the beach. What a treat! Price reflects dry-camping, although FHU sites ($50) were only yards away. Campground has no showers and the toilets left much to be desired. Cell service was good. Terrific beach access and sunset views. Staff was enthusiastic, informative, and welcoming. Definitely will come back. Reserve early! We camped at Morro Strand RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

After a very bad experience at a park in Pismo involving not getting a promised site, we took a Saturday day trip looking for an alternate park. This facility looked great. A deluxe site (70' x45') was coming open for the period we desired. We jumped on it. Stayed for a week. WiFi was initially very strong, but became rather sporadic over the weekend. Roof mounted satellite TV had plenty of clearance. Park was very quiet, mostly retired, as are we. Winds can get pretty strong in Morro. The park offered pretty good protection even when gusts were reported at 65 mph in the immediate area. The park was a little far for walking to Morro's tourist shops & restaurants, but a very easy drive to everything, including Hearst Castle. We camped at Morro Strand RV Park in a Motorhome.
