We visit this KOA often because of the friendly staff, 1 block to beach and several eating establishments. There is a marina right next to the park and you can catch your boat to the whale watching, etc. right there! If you didn't want to drive anywhere this is the place to stay. There are only 46 spots all full hookup, clean well kept so you need to book early for a guaranteed stay. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Kayaking with the otters, and the Jetty has lots of wildlife. Castroville has a Mexican pastry shop "Guadalajara Panaderia to die for on Preston Street! People drive crazy all around there so biking and walking are a bit scary off the trails. There is a quaint and friendly church on Dolan Road call Harbor Chapel on Sundays. The Country Café,Sea Harvest, Phil's and the Haute Enchilada (wonderful Ginger bread pudding for dessert) are our favorites for food.

Rate reflects Good Sam discount - beware this cg raises its rate from Thurs to Sun. I think if you come in before Thurs they should charge you just one rate. Small, bare bones, tight park. Very concerned with total lack of security. Right across from our site (16) was the laundry building & a latch gate shared with the marina next door. Easy access to cg for transients roaming around. All sites are backins - super close to neighbors. Had to park tow car at a diagonal in front of coach to fit in site. Interior roads are asphalt & pads concrete with picnic table. Wifi pretty much nonexistent. Only two restroom/shower combo rooms. While they were clean, they are in need of updating (linoleum floors, fiberglass shower inserts, plaster walls). There were 2 big rubber mats on floor & rooms were spacious. Staff was friendly & professional- needed to adjust my dates & they were accommodating. There are not many parks in the Monterey area & this one is about 30 -33 min from Monterey which has much to offer. If we did return, we would make sure we were in the last row of the park. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Motorhome.

Must do: kayak tour at Elkhorn Slough with Monterey Bay kayaks or rent your own. You will see oodles of otters, seals, & sea lions. Only minutes from cg.

A rather nice, very small & cramped KOA. Well maintained, but one of the most important amenities is sorely lacking: the Wi-Fi ranges from abysmally slow to non-existent.

At its fastest, speedtest.com tells us that the download speed is 0.6 mb/second, and the upload speed is 0.1 mb/second. If you need Wi-Fi, this is NOT the place for you. It took about 24hours, but by the second day we were here, we were over-run with ants. Take appropriate measures to prevent this! We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Motorhome.

Moss Landing, CA is a delightful fishing community with a couple of very good restaurants. Well worth a visit. But RVers dependent on the Internet cannot depend on the Wi-Fi here to be adequate or even connectable.

Moss Landing KOA RV Park, we have stayed here several times, returned and will return again. Check in is easy the staff is friendly and helpful. The sites are clean and level all good size some wider than others some longer than others, no pull throughs, all back in's but big rig friendly. Wi-Fi, do not count on it. What more could we want? We stayed in August. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Walk to dog friendly beaches that go to harbor with many birds and the otters, although to see them best to drive short distance to Moss Landing State Beach. Great restaurants and town across the street is the Whole Enchilada Restaurant and Market Place, at the harbor is Phil's fish Market Restaurant, and breakfast you cannot beat the Moss Landing Cafe. Cool grave yard to visit.

There are only a few places to stay when visiting in a RV in the Monterey/Santa Cruz area. We found Moss Landing a great halfway point and love this KOA. You are protected by fencing which is nice. Not many young children running around and more of a mature group which is nice for a more quiet trip. This park does not have much for amenities but does have laundry room, community fire pit and nice green lawn!! You can hear the sea lions and seagulls, which I love. The staff is amazing! Extremely accommodating and friendly. Sites are skinny but if you don't spend a major amount of time outside you are good. Pads are concrete and level. Small patio for picnic table and that is about it. Full hook up offering both 30/50. Cable TV and the satellite availability is great. Wireless is spotty. We frequent this place twice a year. Highly recommend. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Travel Trailer.

This KOA doesn't offer any great views but it is in a great location. Big rigs can take Hwy 156 off Hwy 101 to Hwy 1. Basics: nice laundry room, well kept grounds & sites with minimum leveling needed, clean, large showers, easy access off hwy 1, 3 well rated restaurants in walking distance, fresh fruit & vegies, and easy access to the marina whale watching cruises. From this location we were able to visit Monterey, Carmel, and a drive down hwy 1 to the Big Sur area. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Fifth Wheel.

The biggest plus about this park is its location: close to Monterey Aquarium, lots of beaches, and great birding. On the advice of a local we took a day trip north to Capitola, which was a neat thing to do. The park itself is very small with only one road in and out so when a caravan of 17 or so rigs came through, it tied up access. Very inconvenient. They kind of overdo the regulations as well -- with signs in the restroom telling you where to hang up your towel and things like that. But the restrooms were very clean. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Moss Landing is tiny and very picturesque with several interesting shops and a few restaurants. Phil's Fish Market is a great place to eat -- casual, with lots of atmosphere and within walking distance. Closest place for groceries is Castroville, 10 min south on Hwy 1. The Elkhorn Estuary is fantastic for birding. Moss Landing State Beach, access on Jetty Road, just north on Hwy 1, is great for viewing sea otters in the Elkhorn Slough.

Check in was a breeze. Very friendly staff. Small park but the spots were plenty big enough to put our awning out and our slide. Location is great. You can walk to 3 super restaurants, fishing, whale watching and a little bit of shopping in Moss Landing. You could hear the otters playing in the Marina along with the fog horns. People were very friendly. It did not look like there were many full timers. Small but clean dog park, movies in the office to borrow. WIFI was spotty. We will be back. Even though there are no amenities except a laundry (2 washers, 2 dryers), this is a very nice RV park and is well kept and clean however, a bit pricey. The location is fabulous! It's within walking distance to a Mexican restaurant and bar inside the restaurant and next door, Phill's Snack Shack, and close by Phill's Fish Market. All very good. It's also a good spot to use for visiting Salinas, Monterey, Carmel, and Pacific Grove. It is right next to a marina. There is good shopping in Salinas like Walmart, Costco, Kohl's, Best Buy to name a few. A little closer is a super Walmart off of hwy 1 (ask at the office how to get there). There are road side vegetable and fruit stands (at least during the season). The park is paved and the sites are concert. They are tight sites. It has cable, 50 & 30 amp for their full hookups and it's level. It has wifi but it appears not to work a good bit of the time. There are two unisex bathroom suites that are clean. The staff is extremely nice and have chocolate chip cookies what appeared to be every day. It has a small store with a few items you might need to include ice. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Motorhome.

Small, clean park. Not many frills, but conveniently located. We would stay here again. We stay thru a weekend and were charged an extra $10 per night for Friday and Saturday nights. If Monterrey is on your itinerary, I strongly recommend you make reservations at this or other local parks as early as possible. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Motorhome.

This was a tight space, but comfortable park across a fence from the harbor. 25-30 miles to Santa Cruz or Monterey for a wide variety of shops and restaurants. I would definitely consider this park again because of its close vicinity to the Monterey and Santa Cruz area. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Motorhome.

We took Elkhart Slough Safari, a short trip to see the Otters and other wildlife. The owner of the boat was very knowledgable about the area, and made the trip very enjoyable.

First time staying here, the park is centrally located and easy to get to. It provides access to the entire Monterey Bay Area from Santa Cruz to Pacific Grove to Carmel. There are several good golf courses very close by. It is within walking distance of the beach and several good eateries.

Check in was very quick, they had all our information ready and even had fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. All the rules are the same as any other park. All the spaces are back-in and are pretty close together. They are layed out well so backing in should be no issue. There is a bit of grass around every space but it's not really usable. The pet area is very small and not practical for a large dog like ours! That is one reason I dropped the rating, the other is the closeness of the spots. The place is very clean, quiet at night, and feels safe, even though it's right of Hwy 1. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Fifth Wheel.

Really clean, well-organized park. Good option for full hook-ups including 50 amp and cable near the beaches and marina. Friendly and helpful office staff; friendly fellow campers. From chatting with a few seemed like there were a number of regulars, and we may become regulars too!

No amenities, i.e., no pool, no playground, dog walk area is just the grass along with entrance drive, but clean, level concrete pads each with a wooden picnic table on a paved patio, and a strip of grass between the sites. A tall, thick hedge surrounds the park which helps cut the wind and also road noise. Walking distance to several good restaurant options. We'll certainly stay here again.
