The park itself is huge, but a tiny campground. Some full time residents. One was a newer one with a temp tag from 2015 still on it. The sites are very close together. Site was fairly level, gravel roads and site. We did have a picnic table. The full hookup sites are first come first served. Otherwise you just get water and electric. It is nice and quiet, but there is nothing stopping the day use park visitors from entering the campground. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Motorhome.

Sites and roads are gravel. The weeds around the sites are 2' to 3' tall. They advertise that they have WiFi, and even give you the ID and passwords. But it doesn't work in the park. It only works standing by the entrance gate. No cable, but a decent antenna signal. There is a garden a short walk from the RV park that has interesting plants, flowers and trees. That's worth a visit. The RV park....not so much. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Most of the sites are elec./water only. We camped in a full-hook location. These sites are cramped and relatively small. Although, we were able to fit our 35' 5th wheeler into one. Previously camped in a partial hook-up location 4 years ago. Partial sites are roomier and accept differing rig sizes. Very quiet in a country setting. For those who like to stretch their legs, there are many miles of trails leading directly from the park. Also, an 18 hole frisbee golf golf is offered for interested folks. In our opinion, if you prefer a more wilderness camping experience with nice views in a quiet setting, yet close to town, this is it. We definitely will continue to choose this location our next time in Napa. Cell reception is good. No wifi or cable TV. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful place to stay! Lots of trails to hike or just relax and walk through the community garden of California Native Plants. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Motorhome.

This was our fourth stay at Skyline, and accept for 12 straight days of continuous rain, it was great. It is rustic, and in a beautiful park location. Good hiking, although dogs are not allowed on the trails. It has a world class disc golf course, and they was a national tournament (in the rain) while we were here. There is a great dog park and the staff is very cooperative. One of our favorite parks anywhere. Lot spacing is spacious with some shade. Site surface is gravel and features a picnic table. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Most sites are first come first serve, so make reservations well in advance to hold the spot and arrive midweek and/ or early in the day to get a full service spot. Most of the sites are water/electric but they have a convenient dump if you are there for a longer (14 day max) stay.

We found this park by accident while taking a detour. It was unusually well located a mile out of Napa with many hiking and bike trails, a large botanical garden exhibit with everything labeled, clean sites and easy access. But 2/3 of the sites have no sewer, use dump on way out. Entering they offered a pill through or back in choice, never mentioning the 30% of sites with sewer, maybe because they were full. Showers and restrooms are minimal, unheated, but clean and in perfect order. Also they offer a club house, dog area, about 8 different trails some climb, some level. Entire grounds were maintained as a green park. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Motorhome.

Let me start by expressing we were not expecting a resort with a swimming pool and concrete pads, paved roads etc.

We parked in our space and the people next to us had trash spread everywhere. We were in space 39, they were in 37. They use spaces 38 and 36 for parking their extra vehicles. The rules state that extra vehicles must be parked in the main parking lot. So is this the park's fault. Nope. Here is where this place fails. We paid for a week. Nothing changed. Nobody from the park cared that the people in space 37 made a pig sty of their space and the ones around it. There is a gated code entrance between the hours of 7PM and 8AM. They must not have changed the code for some time because waves of people come and go at night, some to use the shower, some come set up and abruptly leave at 6 AM. There is no after hours check in, so they are just taking advantage of the fact that this park has NO host. The staff were polite but just shrugged off my concerns. The bathroom and showers were very disgusting. Someone had left a pair of soiled underwear in one of the showers. That was there ALL WEEK we were here. Another shower stall is missing the shower head, same story, never fixed. It is hard to get hot water no matter what time of the day because of the transient traffic using the showers and bathrooms. Trash overflows. It is indeed close to Napa. The staff were very polite and kind, but did not care when I shared about the poopy underwear in the shower stall, or the trash all around. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Travel Trailer.

It is windy and dusty, but that is part of camping, right? Gate to park closes early and it is so quiet at night. This is a county park that has RV sites. Not a RV park. There are some very fine hikes right from the campground. It worked for our needs at the time, but oh the dust...

I would choose another location next time. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a wilderness park the spaces with full hookups are fairly close but set as to still have a little privacy and to be able to use slides and awnings.

The management at the check in are very nice and try to be accommodating. The maintenance employee is lacking in doing a good job of cleaning the sites and the restrooms which are old and makes it difficult to clean good but can still be done.

Pets are allowed but the pet run is poor and you are not allowed to take pets on the trails due to the deer, turkeys and other wildlife in the park.

Hookups are good and is a little tight getting into some parks but u have to remember this is not a resort so don't expect one.

It is only a few miles to downtown and to groceries and other stores for shopping.

Have stayed here several times when visiting family and will stay again as it is the best place in the area. There is a 2 wk limit. The roads are gravel, there are partial hook ups that have some grass. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Motorhome.

This is a county park, and back-in sites in our loop were very tight. Our sewer was under our neighbor's picnic table. Park was clean, cell service was good. Satellite setup easy. Though the park is pet friendly our little pooch picked up lots of little burrs in his feet that we had to pick out every time we took him out. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Motorhome.

Rate is for a partial hookup pull thru site after $2 AAA discount. We have stayed here before and will stay again. Nice and quiet park. Very well maintained. However, most sites are only for smaller rigs. I would not rate this park to be big rig friendly, but accessible, yes. Only two sites in the full hookup section are long enough to accommodate our length of 51' combined. Driving and maneuvering was o.k. though. This might be different when the park is full. The pull thru sites in the partial hookup section are 35'. All back ins are about 30' or shorter. Be prepared to park your tow vehicle or toad in the parking lot at the entrance. Staff is very friendly. Sites are fine gravel and most of them require some leveling equipment. Hookups are in good order. Picnic table on site but no fire pit. A few small trees but very little privacy. Dump on the way out. We neither used any facilities nor the WiFi. Verizon was pretty good instead. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is not a very pet friendly park as the pet park leaves a lot to be desired and you can only walk your dogs on the roads. This is a wilderness park and they are not too particular about how the RV campground looks. There is only one other campground in Napa and they sit on top of each other so you really have to decide the lesser of 2 evils. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Motorhome.

It is just the cheapest in Napa. It is good if you just want to hike or ride bikes. There are no playground for kids, and it is not especially dog friendly. You cannot take them on the trails or into the woods. The deer and the birds are abundant. The staff does their job considering they have a lot to deal with there. Roads and sites are gravel. Full hookup sites are very close together. Back-in, water/electric sites are wide so your neighbors are not as close. Very quiet at night and in October the park was only about half full. We really enjoyed the hiking trails at the park, but dog owners need to be aware dogs are not allowed on the trails. We had good 4G Verizon signal. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The trash dumpster was overflowing for three days (Sunday - Tuesday). Dirt / gravel / weeds parking area. This park is located about 5 miles from downtown Napa. There was no Wi-Fi. The staff was nice. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Motorhome.
